Except Belgium didn't colonize the Congo, the King of Belgium negotiated to have it more or less be his personal property as an office completely unrelated to his status as King of Belgium. And the international uproar over this was so great he handed it over to parliament. The Congo was literally better off being colonized by Belgium than it was being independent under Leopold.

Never mind the fact that had it not been for the colonization of Africa the entire continent had barely progressed past the stone-age. If you don't think the introduction of modern medicine, agriculture, advanced systems of law and technology that may as well have been from aliens for all the natives knew beforehand isn't good you are retarded.
