But joke aside, I think that Robespierre realized the boons of people adhering to the higher power eclipsing the governing body, which was simultaneously free of the rampart corruption of the European Christian churches.
Maybe he just wished to realize his deist beliefs into fruition.
One of the few real french patriots throughtout history, he just didn't know how aggressive his enemies were. If he took the right measures to counter them, he would have been considered worse than hitler now.
He'd be viewed a lot better if he hadn't been killed. No revolution on the scale of the french one could ever happen without some violence, and a lot of what made Paris si violent was caused by foreign countries
