Has anyone found a way to record footage from (non-VR) Studio and turn it into a 180/360 video for viewing in VR? I would settle for that over actual VR gameplay (I only have a Gear and Riftcat / Trinus don't work too well).

Recording regular footage and viewing as a 180 video with Skybox (VR video player) actually works surprisingly well, but the top and bottom are "pinched" and look weird.

If you have the HoneyParty plugin thing it lets you make some light in there but it's all in Japanese so just hit it with google translate camera on your phone or click stuff near the top of the gui that comes up when you press its hotkey which I think is N or O or something

We can only really work with sphere colliders (XYZ + radius, also false capsules exist but fuck that), so having a menu spawn them in and allow for positioning/scaling or bind to some studio object...?
How would we control multiple? Having to move each one by one is a pain. Do we link them or simply parent them to other objects? Etc. You can see why this is the boring part of the process.

If I ever do stop dragging my feet and put mods out there I'd prefer freely working with other devs and creating some collab stuff instead of taking payments as a solo dev. By getting proper critique you can improve, the code I've posted is straightforward but sub-optimal as stated in the few comments. In working with Hongfire devs in the past we've overcome engine-level restrictions imposed by Unity by doing some absolutely haram things with the IL in order to facilitate our workflows. That was very enjoyable and everyone involved learned so much.

With HS... I think there's a little too much ego and reinvention of the wheel with the current modding scene.
For example there's a Python based script loader. No offence but what a load of shit. If the guy spent a second to look up existing means of runtime code execution he'd have avoided redundancy:

Also people withhold content, password protect their shit and refuse to let people share it with takedowns and the like. It's currently not inviting. Perhaps it's due to the elaborate praise they receive for the smallest contributions, like my code. With the simplicity of the work I've performed I'm honestly surprised that people haven't done it already, makes me think that communication in the scene is as shit as I'm imagining it to be. Or maybe I'm not part of currently active discussions.

i think mod devs put their shit behind a paywall or restrict access to it precisely because releasing it out into the wild yields very little, if any, constructive criticism of the actual mod itself. putting it behind a paywall ensures that the people you're communicating with are at least a little invested in what you're doing and so will also want to make the content better.

for sure there are devs that are closing off their stuff for "sikrit club" reasons, and for sure there are devs who have minimal competency coding and just refuse to iterate their work and progress, but

actually halfway through typing that sentence i racked my brain for anybody that doesn't fall into either category. you might be right. what i will say, though, is that from looking at /hsg/, HF, anime-sharing, zod, etc., the vast, vast majority of people either just demand features or content with no appreciation for the person making it. you really have to comb through mod release threads to find anything other than tech support questions, much less to find a productive suggestion.

maybe Roy's patreon is doing it right - he doesn't keep it locked up forever, but he's got a good sounding board for ideas in his pateron subs.

I remember having this mod when it came out, Botebara set was the name. If you had bonemod installed you could set some of the hand parameters to zero and remove the hands manually. Kenzato(das me) told friended both of them, put them in a group chat and togheter we merged into one server.

The two other servers are just autism

first one was made by Nbv and some others(rave) they said they wanted a "calm and relaxed version for the 4chan people"

but its literally just 100 of the same people that are in the other server and its only relaxed because no one posts

the fourth one is made by anonbro, he was banned because of multiple rule breaking and he was posting scat and other disturbing stuff even though he was warned of it before. He was only softbanned for 15 minutes to remove all of his posts.

Where he fucked up is when he decided to make another account instead of wait his 15 minutes which is why he was permabanned(he made 4 people like ram o ram the modder and scene creators leave just because of him posting disturbing content.

How the fuck do I get the colors in the maker/game and studio neo to match? Even when bloom/blur and other effects are disabled, the colors are still way too saturated in the studio. I have them both using the same preset in graphicsettings.

First time installing mods (besides translation and uncensor), installed a bunch of the ones in the pastebin and now all my chars are white skinned.

You just have to fiddle with the sliders a little more since it actively disrupts the colors. It can be a hassle but you can get decent results. I'd say the biggest pain is trying to retool cards I had prior to the install

This is zero reshade, straight from the game SS you can definitely keep the colours normal, it's just most people won't bother with LUT adjustments, or using coloured lighting.

Its more an issue with unity lighting than lre and you see the difference in other adult games people make using unity, some of them have incredible lighting, and others it's all washed out, it's even more apparent when they use the same models.

Regardless if you use VR and aren't getting into LRE/Image based lighting you are missing out.

Using the invisible body ring along with transparent clothing can achieve somewhat decent results. Specifically Bodysuits with transparency options since you can make the bodysuit nearly invisible, but still give it a colour so the shape of the girl is present, but she's still mostly see through, or green or whatever.

I've been using the kim bodysuit for this, but I'm on the lookout for a fullbody suit that has hands and feet included in it so I don't have to fuck around with transparency and seems on socks and gloves or what have you.

I'm having a problem, which at first did not really matter to me but now I do.
StudioNEO does not load most of the scenes I download. I press the Load button and nothing happens. I do not know why this is happening because the studio does not even try to load the scenes. Also try with the vanilla studio but this crash when trying to load (I suppose that is because they are scenes of StudioNEO)

Most recent NEO scenes don't load for me either (I'm the guy who hasn't played since April). I think in general when that happens is that you're lacking a Map so you can't even import the characters into another scene.

Is it possible to mod the game and mess with the character fusion options?
Stuff like a slider to manually adjust who's features you'd prefer in the finished fusion, ways to mix the clothes up instead of choosing a fusee and taking only theirs, figuring out why certain features change completely and manipulating that to get different results, stuff like that.

The fusions are my favorite part of the new DLC. I could care less about shitty anime armor, new stages, even some of the new positions, and certainly about NEO. I just wanna imagine the miscellaneous characters I create doing the Fusion dance and becoming a new creature with an unprecedentedly huge power level.

I can't be the only one to see the endless possibilities in this. What other games offer fusion sytems like this?

That's a decision for an attribute between cards.
You could extend the class and override the method, roll your own weighted random and/or enable or disable adjustments etc.

Can't speak for the specific issue, but when the mod is bugged Unity tends to silently consume the error instead of showing any visible problem.
This would cause the script to cease execution before displaying the UI, thus no window. Alternatively it's some other key combo. Who knows.
I can take a look at the issue if you provide a means to reproduce the error (mod files, steps, expected behaviour, actual behaviour), though it's better suited to the dev.

The creation of UIs in Unity can be massively streamlined by using GUILayout:

This way you'd specify a bunch of sliders and it'll craft the layout itself.
After this you'd either:
Create variables in your extended class to store slider values and use them in the method.
or
Reference the UI directly and fetch the values out, though that's a pain if you adjust shit.

It's not particularly difficult to add saving/loading values at this point, it's limited purely by how much you care about this feature.
