Each map is affected by lighting differently. This is especially so with modded maps. Such as the ones from the schoolmate ports. The textures look blown out no matter how much you lower the lighting. Turning down bloom seems to help, but you would need to do some hardcore modding to fix a lot of the crappy ported maps. The default maps work well as do some ported ones. Bloom destroys the image quality the most. Remember that.

Get the ShortcutHS mod, it lets you add a third light. (without the mod you have a front light and a backlight that automatically moves with it. With the mod you can also move the second backlight.
I have no idea if this mod has a translation on hongfire, I use Japanese versions.

Anyway, you want to bring up the main menu, I think it's default 'n', then go to the light menu (ライト), then go down until you find additional light (追加ライト設定), click it and turn it on with ON/OFF.
Next one is obvious, you can make it a spotlight, directional, etc.
Below that is the R, G, B color setting, then brightness, distance and cone radius.

The first long button resets the position to 0,0,0. The second one is interesting, it moves the light to the camera's position. And the third one turns the light towards the character to face it.
Then you have x,y,z position and same for rotation below.

holy shit anons i think im about to lose my mind. For some goddamn reason i broke all the vanilla eyeshadows and every girl looks like a puffy-eyed monstrosity. anyone else had a similar issue? the discrepancy between the cards and the ingame is getting to me.

I followed the pastebin instructions for the 4k/8k textures with SBX2. I also overwrote everything in abdata (but installed mods that arent replacers are still there cause i already ran into my MEGA limit for the day) in an attempt to fix the problem, but no dice.
