Minus made a post going into detail about making them:
Barebones Simple Steps:

1: I make separate comps for both pieces of footage
2: I roto the head. When done I add a soft matte filter and adjust values, then hit pre-compose. Copy/paste this over to the body comp - which is going to be your main comp now. I also trim here if needed.

3: Adjust headsize and put a wide mask over the whole head, blending at the neck by pumping up the feathering, and adjust “mask expansion” values if needed. May need to track the mask (link to vid) here as well - or learn how to add keyframes to the mask “path” and make manual adjustments as needed.

4: Track body footage in AE or mocha - see this video for how to do it simply in AE. *using a null object

5: Parent the head layer to the null object with the tracking data.

6: Play it through, and make adjustments to tracking if needed - pay attention to this part in this video, where he shows you how to make a separate null object for adjustments.
*worth noting I use PgUp and PgDn keys to move frame by frame and I use the arrow keys for any positional adjustments - as apposed to editing the values like he shows in that vid.
7: Color correcting - I use layers, brightness and contrast, vibrance and saturation. However you do this is up to you.

8: Play it back and adjust steps at 3, 6, and 7, till it looks good enough.

9: Render it out, then re-encode/change file type

10: Done.

Obscuring the original head (if you need to) can be tricky, and something you kind of just need to get creative to deal with, which is why I left that step out. But If I’m super lazy, creating a solid layer with a mask over it and placing this between the head and body layers, is one way. I try to avoid using paints and the eraser tool myself, since it tends to crash my pc for some reason. But like I said, however you do it doesn’t matter as long as it looks good.

General tips/Things to learn on your own:
Roto-scope tool - Maybe the most time consuming part, and largely depends on the source of the head. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and find easy footage with a solid background to work off of, other times you’ll need to grab some coffee and do that shit frame by frame.
I usually also put a “refine soft matte” over it when I’m done and adjust smooth and edgeline radius, but experiment with different values here to get what you want.
I also rotoscope the head in a separate composition, and when done I “nest” all the info by hitting “pre-compose” on the layer. Copy this new layer over the body and you’ll get a better feathering effect when masking it.
Motion tracking - I use the tracker within AE, but mocha is good, just remember that usually all you’re trying to do is simulate slight head bobbing or movement and not every detail or head turn that the original body makes (unless you’re doing some advanced stuff).
Most guides will have you track the head, but often times it will lean forward, or backwards, or twist, and fuck everything up. Which is why I usually track a stable spot like the corner where the neckline meets the shoulder then make manual adjustments later.

Masking - primarily for feathering and blending, but also for background work and whatever else you can think of. Really open-ended “advice,” I know, but it’s hard to explain exactly what you can do with masks. Just play around and look up guides because you’re gonna use them quite a bit.

Few tips that I will leave you with, is to choose footage where the neckline on both the body and the head are exposed - you’ll have a much easier time blending it together. And maybe practice on a stationary camgirl if you wanna go baby steps before jumping into motion tracking.
