Should we also include AR soon? All text is a WIP.

With vive being sold off and HTC going under is there any reason to not grab a rift?

Source?
All I remember is that they said was they're considering different business strategies going forward, with that being one possibility. We might abandon HTC though, LG is making a SteamVR headset and it'll probably be better and come out in less than a year probably. If Valve is licences their Knuckles hardware which I think they will, LG will just be the better package deal too rather than buying HTC now and upgrading by adding on to it.
AR and VR are basically the same sorts of things. These should probably be XR threads, with emphasis on VR.
Those mixed reality headsets are just VR for now, though.
look it's another shilled thread on a failing marketing attempt at jewing the gullible
Got my oculus on tuesday.
It's amazing.
So far I've played with Robo Recall, ToyBox, Dead and Buried, SteamVR Homes, Big Screen and VR Kanojo.
Robo Recall is amazing, at first I thought it was a Time Crisis style game but after I got used to teleporting it's more like an action hero simulator. Mindblowing.
Also VR porn is a complete game changer, I had a bunch of videos I had downloaded in preparation and this one with Riley Reid and some other woman was intense. Pardon the cliche but you really feel like you're in the room, it's almost worrying when you think of how advanced this feeling will get in the future. Would like a different video viewer though, whirligig is good but the menu requires a keyboard (touch controls don't work) so it's hard to use the oculus and the keyboard.
Had some minor "simulator sickness", I usually get it after an hour and a half.

Doesn't "mixed reality" mean augmented OR virtual reality? So these should be just simply MR threads, not XR.

Considering that all currently available consumer headsets are VR-only, including Microsoft's upcoming "MR" sets, this can be a VR thread until there's reason to change.
