Work related usage: matlab, altium, ltspice, excel. No gaming for now, in the future I want to get a top end gpu for simracing with VR. I went with be quiet because I want a silent pc. I would like to run a slight overclock if I can. I will migrate the GPU (AMD R7 360), HDD and all peripherals from my current PC.

Any recommended changes for this build? Don't include gpu or go above 1000€. I am from Slovenia.

You'll need to make sure you grab a motherboard compatible with the FX chips then. Personally, I'd recommend the Asus 970 Pro Gaming Aura.
It's decent enough.

If you can, look for someone locally selling an AMD FX-8350. It'll be a much better CPU. You can usually find them for $50

I currently have FX-6300 with no plans to upgrade, RX 480 4GB with Freesync monitor. Because the prices of mining GPUs are so crazy and the RX 480 is probably overkill for the CPU I've preordered a cheap RX 560 4GB and plan to sell the 480. Do you think I'll notice much difference in 1080p?

btw, I know the big flaw in this plan is that the price of RX 480 will fall while I wait for RX 560 to come into stock so would sell the 480 now and temporarily reinstall my 7870.

When passing a video card through to a virtual machine when do you add the second card? Using linux. Will I need to boot the machine with both cards in there? The instructions say to blacklist the drivers that use the second card to make the system ignore it.

I did some research and it turns out they really are a meme. I already have a 850 in my current PC so i just saved 120€, should I put that money into something else?

So apparently the asshole dumbfuck at the PC shop ""forgot"" to include the HDD cage in the delivery. PSU cable is totaly blocking most of the CD drive bay so i dont think it would fit there either. The fuck do i do now?

I've operated SSDs at the bottom of case before, but will "normal" HDD's also do this without problems? Should i turn it upside down for better airflow? To expand on this a little bit, a few years ago a 2gb 960 was considered the sweet spot for 1080p gaming, but ever since games like GTA V came along games can use up to 4gb (or more) of VRAM. The cores it uses are identical to Ryzen 3, 5 and 7 cores, right? 1900X has a higher boost clock than any of the other Ryzen CPUs, and people are speculating they'll overclock higher due to better binning. So I reapplied thermal paste to my CPU just now and put the heatsink on, booted it outside of the case to see if it's working, but according to BIOS it's running at 40-47 C. That seems a little too hot right?

Those Pentiums are actually fairly capable. I'm running a budget server on a G3258. Overclocked it from 3.2GHz to 4GHz. This has a weird setup. It doesn't actually have a PSU. It uses an external power brick. The power brick feeds into a secondary board in the case which then routes back to the motherboard, which IIRC is generic.

I'm upgrading an Alienware X51 R2 since it still works and I don't have the cash on hand to build from scratch. And the SKhynix|CHINA RAM in it just died, so I'm limping on the remaining 4GB stick.

Question:

I have a Z170X gigabyte mobo and messing around I noticed the ram management part had an option called "memory enhancement settings" with the options (enhanced stability, normal, enhanced performance and relax oc).

What the fuck these they do?
The manual doesn't say anything besides (enhanced options affecting performance/stability)

it was defaulted on stability, changed it to normal and PC has been working the same so far, guess I'll run some test to see if "enhanced stability" was cucking me from some fps gains.

Is it worth is to get a ~$35 dollar CPU cooler over the stock Ryzen 5 1600? If so, what would be the best cooler in that price range? Thanks in advance.

Is it normal that i get a lot of interference with onboard sound on a brand new build? Like there's this constant crackling in the background and stuff which can only be heard when everything else is silent

Some people report issues with asrock boards so I'd check reviews on that. You're clearly going for a budget build, you can get a cheaper hdd and more storage for that price.
