That matters too, but the seeder count is one of the biggest factors in terms of what you're able to select a torrent to seed by. You can't exactly pick torrents to seed based on how long you've seeded them.

I just haven't gotten back to it. I'm busy.

Prepare for the price to be perma-seeding my Vocaloid concerts on Nyaa. The issue with them is they never attract any seeders, so even though they're not that active, it's always only me handing out a full copy every time, and it really drags down the rest of my seeding. Someone should write a program that allows you to serve as a proxy between two different torrent swarms

>>
>>61047364
You mean a bittorrent client?
>>
>>61047447
yes, except it wouldn't be an actual client
you would just show as a leecher on the FL swarm and as a seeder on the non FL swarm
When you got a request for a piece you would grab that from the FL and serve it to the other one. If the torrents were identical it wouldn't even require a cache you would just proxy the connections like a MitM
>>
>>61047509
>download
>cross-seed
wow that was hard
>>
>>61047599
that requires disk space
what I'm proposing requires a small cache folder if the torrents aren't identical and no space at all if they are
>>
>>61047364
I don't understand this. What would this approach accomplish that simply cross-seeding wouldn't? Take away maintaining multiple entries of the same torrent for different trackers?
>>
>>61047633
disk space
>>
>>61047509
I've never done this with private trackers but I'm pretty sure if the data is identical, you can download a torrent from any site and the client will discover that it's already 100% downloaded during the checking phase. No trickery required.
>>
>>61047662
see posts above yours
>>
>>61047653
What disk space? If you download a file from one tracker and cross-seed to another tracker you still only need just one copy of the file, not two. Pretty sure all clients will check integrity of the file and whether it is the exact required one if no changes are made as >>61047662 mentioned.
>>
>>61047685
What do you mean with this disk space stuff? You don't need to have multiple copies of a file to seed it two trackers as long as both torrents expect the same checksum or however it verifies the data.
>>
>>61047764
>>61047770
I feel like you guys are being stupid on purpose just to get (You)s
The point of this would be seeding without having the file at all, you would only need a small cache folder if the torrent didn't have identical pieces

Unless he means that somehow whenever someone requesting the file is found on one tracker with no FL, the program begins downloading from the tracker with FL and passes the downloaded data to the leecher on tracker with no FL.

I guess that could save space in long run, but would probably have impact on the bandwidth and hurt your upload speed, especially if you plan to delete as soon as leeching is done and re-download on every seed.

You're serving many different chunks to a multitude of peers. Your cache would be 100% of data on any active upload with 2+ leechers.

This hypothetical program could set a timer to keep that cache based on the completion rate of the peers in the second swarm

you're assuming you would be doing this as a sole seeder and not just as a way to get points by crossseeding large torrents without the actually the requirement of filling your disk with crap that almost never gets snatched but without being easily identifiable as RM user

Find the autodl.cfg file in your local space and under [options] make sure you have allowed = exec

It is possible that your seedhost provider has another config file in /etc that may/may not be overwriting the permissions for this. After adding the line to your local file, try restarting both Deluge and autodl to see if things work. Otherwise if the problem still persists, you may need to contact the support and ask them to enable it somehow for you. You with seedhost.eu?

Private trackers aren't terrible, but they are pretty terrible.
Like the idea of having centralised quality control is good, and having requirements that people cannot leach without contributing is good too.
That being said, most (if not all?) private trackers have bad economies and are unwilling to improve on them (because the current situation often benefits a select few).

Had same problem with them. Check the /etc server directory for another autodl.cfg file and see what is allowed there, probably only watchdir and rtorrent which overwrite your local permissions. You can try putting only exec in the allowed parameter in your local config, but I doubt that will change it.

If you don't have a dedicated server, just contact the support and tell them that config file in /etc overwrites your local settings and that you wish to have the exec option enabled to dump torrents straight into Deluge rather than use watchdir (they say it has zero poll delay which I think is bullshit). They added the exec permission on my seedbox machine after doing this.

My uni accommodation does not allow us to connect to trackers using their internet connection so I have to use my server as a proxy.
Also, just because it is not illegal it does not mean that I should not hide it, especially since the torrenting itself might be illegal in some countries and visiting a torrent site might give them a lead.

That wouldn't solve anything. A pajeet would just register through a good VPN once and then connect from home for free. Likewise it would make detecting account trading nigh impossible. Banning proxies and Tor is not a 100% solution but it's efficient enough to deter most unwanteds.

What was he banned for the 1st time?

The first time was when he wrote a script to spam friend requests to everyone on the site, but he got unbanned for that shortly after.

The second time was when he set up a phishing site, stole blossom's account credentials, and used them to ban himself. They took a lot longer to unban him from that one.

Then they banned him again a third time for leaking their database but he got unbanned under threat of leaking sensitive user information as well if they didn't give him back his account.

We don't know why he was banned again yet, but it was bound to happen.

The one with the passwords and emails?
They were retarded for unbanning him the second time.

Is there any private tracker which doesn't require me to dox myself in order to get the .torrent files I throw on my seedbox?

I never understood the argument that your *browser IP* needs to be unchanging, when I'm torrenting from a dedicated IP.

Not to mention that the cancer that is IPT shills their botnet VPN solution. No thanks, into the trash you go.
