Honestly the domain control is somewhat up for debate, I'm assuming ewhal4 has control now, and what happens when he eventually is "done" and presumably wants to give control of the domain over to the most relevant person to the site. I'm also not saying go post your full financials or anything, I'm just saying that I don't think you can continually host the site at the scale you want to for peanuts, regardless of your one-time hardware costs. Im glad you understand at least some things, in terms off DDOS i have connections with people that can get me quite good ddos protection for fairly cheap, and having cloudflare in front will at least take care of some of the attacks meaning we have less to worry about. Although i believe we will never need ads i can't promise it because its not something im 100% certain about, but i can promise that we wont at least for now, in terms of actually getting to the point of shutting down i can say with close to 100% certainty that we won't shutdown for at least the next 2 years or so unless something very extreme happens along the way.
