nVidia forces you to create an account/register to be able to use their software, so you have to use older versions of that software.
1060 has less vram, while still being more or less completely on par with RX 580. So, you get less for the money.
AMD comes with freesync, and freesync monitors are like $150-200 cheaper than gsync.

Unless you're very restricted on wattage, or have very expensive electricity, there's no reason to not get RX 580. Power draw is it's main weakness... But it also comes with good powersaving features (radeon chill).

Do these fan splitters actually work well? I have 4 case fans but only 3 ports on my motherboard and 2 of them are front intake fans which came with the case. They have some backlight glow to them as well so will that affect how much this splitter can power them?

yesterday, the monitors just all displayed "no display connected" and turned themselves off. i have tried plugging in the hdmi cable directly to the motherboard and restarting multiple times, but with no luck. i think this is a motherboard issue.

Literally only about price. Get whichever one is on deal and oc the shit out of it. You honestly won't notice a difference between the two in most titles. The software side is also irrelevant too since you more than likely won't be using meme features like Radeon chill or Nvidia gamestream. The only good software feature out of the two companies is Nvidia fast sync which is a godsend for high fps gaming with no extra cost. I game on a 32" t.v. I got like 3 years ago for my Xbox with a gtx 1070 and with fast sync I can have the sick size and picture quality of my tv whilst also playing at over 100 fps with no screentearing. Saves me from having to buy a shitty freesync/gysnc monitor.

That's only my opinion though. Also, OBS > all.

Anyone know why my games keep crashing? I've had a 660 for a few years and been bottlenecked by a G3220. I upgraded to an R5 1600 and my frames are better, but my games crash when settings are too high. In Paragon if texture quality is above medium, then intense situations end in a crash. In DS3, I crash after 5 minutes on most settings other than low.

Might be a driver bug. Do a clean install of the latest drivers and try again.

Might also be something related to Windows or ryzen drivers. Check afterburner when after the game crashes and see if there's any oddities in the readings e.g. voltages, cpu speed, utilization, ram clocks. Trying to repair Windows via Windows update in the control panel or simply defragmenting your HDD might help.

Replacing my HDD, leaning towards the HGST Deskstar (seems the most reliable).

I'd go with an SSD, but I like massive amounts of storage.

That said, are hybrid drives any decent? What about a higher RPM HDD? Also, is HGST actually a decent brand or are the Blackblaze tests all bullshit?

No, the nvidia control panel settings of +70 contrast -40 gamma or wahtever the fuck they tell you to do will NOT make it look like an IPS panel. What it will do is take the lowest 20 possible black values and reduce it to about four, giving you a horrific banding experience in any dark picture, movies and video games included. Can't speak on it beacuse I don't have the Asus/Acer IPS to compare it to, but my grip isn't the colors, it's the black levels. For instance, on this Dell if I get into a black car at night on GTA V there are about three, four bands of distinct colors, all running the gamut from an odd grey, to those weird dark greens/purples you see on compressed images, at play on the car. It's not smooth at all, it's fucked man. I'm a little drunk so I can't put it into words but do not get this monitor, the black levels are trash even for a TN. Do some googling and you'll run across one review that mentions it, only one, and even then in the comments the shills are at work saying "this looks just as good as my acer IPS side to side!" The GPU is definitely overkill for 1080p but there is no flaw / overpriced thing in the build he sent.

7700k for mixed usage is bad compared to the R7 1700, the 1700 beats it by a mile in video encoding / editing & multitasking
A 212 EVO for a 7700k is asking for it to burn, that thing reaches pretty high temperatures.
850 EVO are good but not as coost efficient as Crucial, Sandisk, Kingston and other brands. The MX300 your friend had picked is a better idea, on top of that it has more space.
Seasonic PSUs are generally more reliable than Corsair ones, so your friend also did a good job there.

You should go for your friend's build.

Get ASRock B350M pro4, only good b350 mATX board afaik.
Trident Z ram are probably fine, but might be a bit expensive. Ballistix sport LT 2x8gb may perform may perform just about the same, for possibly 50% cheaper. Although, those Trident Z can probably overclock some too, so they're probably gonna perform better, but obviously cost a lot more.

7700k is really bad value, and it stutters in games.

For the liquid cooler you might want to replace it with an high end air cooler instead, pic related shows a be quiet dark rock tf (high end air cooler) outperforms it at a cheaper price.
As for which RAM will post to 2900MHz, you might wanna wait a few days for the bios updates. Asus already has released a beta one for the crosshair VI, and the memory OC improvements are real.

Also, AIO is a meme, it's quiter with a good air cooler. Any good air cooler will perform better than that one too. 120mm radiators are only an option if you're doing SFF builds that requires it, and you're not going to overclock much.

Afaik, you want to avoid the cheaper gigabyte cards, and 4gb really isn't a good buy. You'll probably end up vram bottlenecked down the line... just like gtx 1060 3gb is, gtx 970, and gtx 960 2gb, are bottlenecked by vram.

Planning on putting the gpu radiator on the bottom front of the case (or maybe the bottom of the case? opinions?), and the cpu radiator on the top, and leaving the included fans in the case for some airflow to cool the mobo and RAM. Planning to do some overclocking with this build, think it should be doable with the liquid cooling and whatnot.

Anything I should do differently or more efficiently? This will be my first build since 2012 so I'm a little rusty.

Get a R5 1600 instead. It has two more cores, 12 threads (instead of 4 for the i5), it doesn't reach anything over than 60% CPU usage in gaming ever (because there is no game CPU intensive enough to max all these threads), whereas the i5 is constantly on it's knees at 85% minimum in any AAA, with spikes to 100%.
It also doesn't need a cooler and comes with a decent one, and is about $10 cheaper than the 7600k.

Think about looking at a photograph. The only light there is what's bouncing off it. There's no backlighting to that. You want good quality image with minimal backlighting.

Anyway, it does vary and you need to check reviews. The IPS I have is an old one, an HP ZR24w, and its' known for its good light backlight bleed and such although ghosting is a bit eh.

While I'm not too sure, but if it's 80% effiecincy, at 500 watts, you'll have 100w of waste heat, which should lead to a very loud PSU. At like 300W it's more manageable, but it's still going to be more waste heat.

What's the best model of R9-380? Currently I can get either a Gigabyte G1 Gaming or Sapphire Nitro, both 4GB.

I recently had an argument with my friend.
He thinks I should assemble my PC like pic related and have my top fans used as an exhaust.
I think this is dumb because you're going to get hot air blowing into the radiator instead of using them as an intake and getting cold air from outside.
He says that although the cpu might run a little warmer, the rest of the PC would run much cooler.

Who is right?
Everyone else on the internet seems to be divided too and Corsair recommend having them as an intake in the manual for my cooler.

He is right, the GPU would run cooler with the rad as exhaust, and hotter with the rad as intake.
Generally you want it as exhaust because the CPU is gonna be cool anyway, and the GPU gets noticeably hotter with it as intake

If so drop the GPU to a RX 580 / GTX 1060

R5 1600 is much better than 7600k is, because it has two more cores. The 7600k easily reaches 85%+ usages in games with spikes to 100%, whereas the R5 1600 hovers around 50 - 60% at worst.
It's cheaper and doesn't even need a cooler, though you do have to get one if you want to overclock. Just like the 7600k it comes unlocked.
That small AIO is gonna perform worse than high end $70 air coolers. I'd recommend instead a $40 air cooler anyway, because AIO is quite overkill and for very very high OCs, not something you wanna do while being a beginner. In fact, i wouldn't even recommend a cooler since you wouldn't see any benefit from overclocking the R5 1600 in your particular case.

I'm the guy that asked for help picking parts for a very tight budget PC because my girlfriend destroyed my PC beyond repair.

You've helped me out greatly which I'm very grateful for, I checked the stores around here and had decided what I'll end up building once I get my couple days off from work.

However, as always, luck is not on my side.
The 600-800 euro's (about 785 dollar) I could spend are now down to 400-500 euro's only. (+/- 450-600 dollars) because the car I need for work unexpectedly needed a new timing belt (not sure if it's called like that in English)

Could you please help me out once more and suggest parts for a build I can play WoW and browse internet videos with more or less OK?
I don't need the best settings in WoW just something that wont stutter like crazy.

I need everything, OS // All the parts including case // mouse & keyboard and perhaps a headset I can go on TS and Discord with, a screen is not required I found one on Ebay I could pick up for free (it's a 1920x1080), has scratches and dents and bit worn out colors but it's fine.

It would be much much appreciated.

p.s. - for those wondering, I got my girlfriend to go to psych person appointments, which also have to be paid so it's improtant that I stay within this 450-600 dollar budget

TIming belts are wear items that need to be replaced as part of regular maintenance once every 60,000 miles or 100,000 miles depending on the car. Read the goddamned owners manual (You know.
