HS isn't a sub group. What they do is rip video and subs from Crunchyroll, Funimation and other sources to repackage them as downloadable files. They're only the "biggest" group releasing anime downloads in the sense that there aren't any big sub groups anymore. It's like how currently, Hillary Clinton is the leader of the Democratic Party, even though all she apparently wants to do is hike through the woods of Maine, away from Trump, Bernie and "the emails."

That said, HS picking a new torrent website would be tacit approval for everyone else to start uploading there, but privately, I hope that they will choose more than one. What do you think of a small script that posts the magnet of the daily snapshot of the DB to the website?
That way you would get backups through the comunity "for free" and people could build stuff on top of the DB.
Not to mention that it would add redundancy in case of takdown/hackers or ransomware.

Aparently you can use libtorrent to create a torrent file and the function make_magnet_uri() to create a magnet from that file. A few lines of scripting for cleanup would probably be required also.
