For pubsub releases, yes. But if you miss out on the pubsub release you will find every release in a json file that is updated at the same time as the pubsub announcement. I was also thinking of doing a smaller json file that would only hold, lets say 50 (maybe 100) releases which would only be a small file and you could poll that to ensure your releases are up to date and you didn't miss any. Still new to IPFS so I'm learning as I go, pinning is basically seeding the files from what I gather. I plan to make it autopin files that you download (not index) unless specified, I have terrible internet and data caps so as much as I'd like to seed uploading kills my bandwidth and I can't do much else on the internet although I try to seed the little things. Being able to disable the autopin is also on my mind too. Hopefully some anons with powerful connections can autopin new releases for everyone else to enjoy, thats the aim I guess.

Hey, so I had an idea for the archive.

The Archiver can have two available archives for people to download. The larger JSON archive that holds all publications, and an ipfs file that contains the latest publication, and a link to the previous update.
This way a program can be created to grab only publications they missed, and work their way backwards. I'm not sure how much overhead this might produce tho.

The github readme just says to "download DB and place it in your root folder named as nyaa.db" but doesn't say where. I found this two threads ago:

Probably just a rename for consistency (InfoHash vs Infohash). Also the upload form wasn't multipart-data so the torrent files weren't being uploaded.

It'd be good to have a link to download the db from the site -- after all, having a dump of nyaa is what's allowed us to recover from its disappearance. Even if it's only a dump taken periodically (e.g. a weekly backup).

I wonder if there's a way we can share the db backup over p2p, like a torrent that updates itself? Maybe just an rss feed, with a new version of the torrent each week or so?
