yep. there are many little problems... the earbuds were non-removable (I cut them out), the screens were misaligned (I opened the case and when I put it back together they somehow aligned), the shroud sucks (it falls off when you take off the glasses), the rubber nose bridge broke (it fits fine without it though), the screens are too high (if I put the sides over my ears instead of on top it angles the screens better so they are more in focus)

but other than all that they work, just not in bright daylight (if you stand in the shade you can still see them), and I like how it doesn't block out your peripheral vision like bulkier headsets. The 5.8g reception is great, the battery lasts a long while (3 hours advertised), and they are easy to carry around (I can hook the side in pocket to carry them).

Like with chink clothes, you always but a protection level higher than you need. Chink motorcycle helmets appear to be fine for bike-level crashes but not motorcycle crashes. Advantages: Style, Chinguard. Disadvantages: Heat, reduced vision/hearing. You can easily see in most comparison videos where people smash motorcycle helmets that chink helmets are just bike helmet foam and stand up about as well as a normal bike helmet would.

The cheapest way I can think of is to get a cheap, simple quad and put an AIO FPV camera on it, but that requires soldering which I don't know if you want to do.

WiFi FPV sucks ass and you can't use goggles with it, but every fucking new quad these days has it. Fucking smartphone bullshit.

5.8g FPV quads come in two varieties, the ones that suck ass and the ones that don't come with controllers so you have to spend another $50.

So my actual recommendation is to buy whatever BNF DSM2 2S micro FPV quad that you like the looks of (for instance: gearbest.com/multi-rotor-parts/pp_597954.html) and then get this cheap transmitter that can be hacked to use DSM2: gearbest.com/multi-rotor-parts/pp_492299.html

Make sure the quad you choose comes with batteries and charger or you will have to get them seperately.

As for the goggles, just get the cheapest one, should be around $40. You will also need to get a battery and charger for it (the charger for your quad should work if the goggles take batteries of the same S number), check the specs before you buy.

The only thing that will upgrade receiver range is diversity, but the cheapest I've seen that is $160. And beware, just because goggles have two antennas does not make them diversity. The chinks really like shoving two antennas on and connecting them to the same point.

Other than range, you may want to upgrade ergonomics, I wouldn't recommend the ones I bought (model F640) to anyone who doesn't have a workbench for electronics projects, so the cheapest upgrade would be an authentic Fat Shark ($250+).

I just spent a lot of time looking at this stuff again and there's a lot of shit out there. Good luck.

The Devo requires a lot of extremely fiddly soldering to get the most out of it so I pussied out and went with the Flysky FS-I6 which is extremely capable for the price, though it will limit which quads you can buy somewhat.

To my knowledge the EV800 is the one still recommended in the "I want to spend as little as possible" price bracket at about £45. Comes with an internal battery. They are big box type goggles though so you will look like a fucking retard with them on instead of a super cool matrix blade runner like yours.

Keep an eye on the VR-D2 Pro which is about to come out. If it doesn't have any crippling flaws then diversity and a DVR for £65 looks like a pretty good deal.

My advice is this: You can turn any mp3 player into one with a clip by glueing a peg to it.
You could try a Ruizu X02, life on those is at least 2 years (battery loses capacity fairly rapidly.)
As for size- things that take microSDs usually support FAT32 only. You can format any microSD to fat32 and it'll load just fine. Downside is no files larger than 4GB, but for music that's not even close to a problem.
The market for $30 mp3 players is pretty bad. There's no clip+. There's no rockbox.
Except the Xduoo X3. It (apparently) has beta-rockbox support (you'd need to look in the forums and active development areas to find it). The button placement is garbage. Seriously, if this thing had a button layout that wasn't garbage it'd almost be the new clip+. I've heard rumours that battery life on rockbox isn't so good right now. I've heard.

If you can find rockbox software for it then consider it a contender.
