Holy shit, I finally tried out rtorrent and it blows qbittorrent out of the water

I always wrote off the stalled meme because in my experience, that only ever arose due to caching issues, but rtorrent really does peer better. It's also a lot easier to use plugins with, and it doesn't have all the annoying bugs that come with qb like trackers not showing up or the UI slowing to a crawl after a couple thousand torrents

Of course, I'm still in the honeymoon phase and I'll probably be less enthusiastic once I encounter a bug or two but you seriously are shooting yourself in the foot if you use anything else

I used to be demonoid way back in the day; still a few torrents I put up about ten years ago that are alive; I rejuvenate them occasionally, plus another two dozen or so I've upped since demonoid returned back in 2014.

Total torrent count is thousands or tens of thousands. Some are dead, some occasionally get life support, others are surprisingly alive. They've been through some rough years, so pretty random luck on what you can connect to. Like trying to connect to old pirate bat torrents.

Sort of the nostalgia thing a bit. Demonoid used to be The torrent site till it got taken down a few times. Disrupted, but keeps coming back & rebuilding. I enjoy running across old torrentfags I've swapped torrents with for ... shit, longer than 4chan has existed. I've even crossed paths with oldfags I met on usenet (back when it was free) and emule and shit.
