That would complicate the EQ process a lot. Don't move while you listen? No use in fixing the bass but you can try to tame the treble peaks. Normally I'd recommend a parametric equalizer but since you will be subtracting and have a decent amount of bands to use, it might do some good to go with what you have there. The plot you are looking at is useless. Listen through some sine sweeps and equalize the peaks away. Audiocheck.net has some sine tones available.

My Fulla 2 arrived today, got it because my on board would crackle.

Even with my meme headphones (Takstar 2050 and SHP 9500), the sound is noticeably better.
The SHP's are more affected by the Fulla 2, way more responsive to eq now. Makes the 2050's sound pretty muddy and unclear in comparison.

Gonna send the Takstar's back and save up for hd600's or 880's.

Knowing how most receivers are designed, output impedance is probably somewhat high.

That's not how that works. You define a target response, and use filters to approximate an inverse function to achieve that response.
The first concern is whether the response is reproducible. If the transfer function is not well reproducible, the observed variation when it is used interferes with the intended correction.
The next concerns are digital level and nonlinear properties of the driver. Playback level will be on the electronics, whether they generate enough voltage at the driver. Nonlinearity is not always a serious concern, but these issues emerge with increased output level.

I'm trying my hardest to not buy the THX00 since I want to be financially responsible and stuff. It's perfect for the sound signature I'm looking for.

My alternatives seem to be:

DT770 - highs are supposed to be painful

Fidelio X2 - I hear that the sub is good for open cans but in general it's a little lacking

I'm really looking for sub bass without fatiguing highs. Please, tell me I don't need to spend $400 to get the sound I want.

You can also look into the audioquest nighthawk. They have a dark sound, and I've seen them go new for as low as around $300 (essentially a mid-point in price between the X2 and the TH-X00), and you can probably find them used for a tad less.

Does anyone know about the Hifiman HE350?
I found an offer for 115$ including shipping rather than 300 and I am in need of new headphones.
Used the DT990 so far and liked them but mine have run their course, having been repaired several times and being past their warranty, I'm kinda bummed out having to spend +70€ every time so I'm on the lookout for bargains.
I do my fair share of voice recording and editing so most of my need is in the area of human voice, but music and gaming are also areas where it would be used. I always preferred a good "valley curve" in my equalizers, putting a strong emphasis on low and high frequencies and lowering the midles.
I'm currently using AKG K518 DJ, my mobile phones, for my computer needs and use a Samson MeteorMic as an Amp, and since this is supposed to be budget, I cannot afford to get a "proper" Amp

It's very easy to think(subconsciously, the sensation is very real) that you're hearing something while listening even if it isn't really there. Well this is interesting, I tested the fulla 2 with bloodborne title music on my ps4. It has a weird subtle wave/pulsing effect for some reason. I listened to my flac version of the song on my computer with the same set up and it's fine. Anyone know why that would happen?

They are sold for $99 + shipping on massdrop once in a while. They're quite similar to 598's but with worse quality control and comfort. Highs are grainier, though dont dip quite as much in some areas. Pretty shitty value. They're a common platform for mods though.

Also how the fuck do you need to repair Beyers that often? I've had my 770's for over a decade, and COP's since release. Nothing other than the plastic yolk clamp bits cracking on the 770's have broken. If its the wire, just do a removable cable mod.

I dont think it's the wire. The highs are still coming through, but the basses are gone. I suspect something inside needs soldering.
I think i got a defective pair. I dropped them once (chest height) and one side was broken afterwards. Sent them in within warranty and ever since they broke every year, always seems to have been inner soldering stuff.
I was considering asking some of my friends if they can solder it back together, I know a few Musicians.

I have used my siberia v2 now for over 3 years and I am very satisfied for the sound and durability they have given me for the price.
Now the mic is broken and need new ones.

I know you hate """gaming""" headset but the HyperX cloud 2 is on a good sale now.
A while ago i bought the AKG K550 and honestly hated the sound. Thought i would get used to the sound but that wasn't the case.
The sound was so hollow "uncomfortable" compared to the siberia v2 and my ears started to hurt after only a couple of minutes of listening, which i think was listening fatigue.

So does the Cloud 2 have similar confy sound of siberia v2 and not hollow like other headphones?
Im afraid i wont like how they sound like I did with the K550.

I've never tried any of their closed options, but you could also look at Takstar for decent closed headphones for the price. A good place to start there would be HI 2050s.

Got comply foam tips for my Carbo Tenore's.
They are definitely an improvement over the stock tips, I don't love the whole compressing and holding them until they expand routine though.

Alright, I'm considering very, very heavily getting ATH MSR7s, and I'm not sure I want the V-signature. My alternative right now are DT770s, but they're two completely different prince ranges.

How do MSR7s feel, compared to, say, M50s? Or just a regular old V-shaped signature? I like a neutral sound but don't want to give up the "Punch" of a bass heavy signature.

I just got a pair of Sennhieser Momentum 2.0 (wired, over ear) in the mail today. The first 2 hours of listening to them, so far so good.

Very comfortable and sound great considering they are $220 and can be plugged straight into a phone.

I've just ordered a BoomPro, and while searching around for some other stuff recently, I saw some people having issues with some hissing/whine when splitting off the cable, with the microphone one going to the motherboard and the other to an amp, due to grounding issues that happen when splitting it. So, how can I fix that? Can a cheap USB sound card just for the mic work, or do I need a ground loop isolator?

I have two laptops and my bt 4 bluedio's work just fine with both, also works fine with the cheap-o CSR adapter for my desktop and my phones - as long as I'm in the same room. If I leave *any* of those in the living-room and walk out in the hall then I get stuttering after just a few meters.

I know a lot of bluetooth things claim a 10m or even 30m distance but my experience is that absolutely no sender / receiver combination works unless they are in the same room.

Try a streaming service! I exclusively torrented my music from the days of the original demonoid until just recently when I caved and paid for spotify. It does 320kbps and is just incredible for music discovery. The convenience is incredible too but even if it just let you navigate the UI and didn't actually play music I would pay for it. Tried out the Takstar 2050's, which were very comfy, but the mids were too recessed for my taste.

How deep are IEM tips supposed to go in the ear canal? I have tiny ear canals and even extra small size Spinfits go in like 2 mm deep. While they don't fall out easily, it's not exactly a snug fit.

I've ordered a mixed size set of Comply comfort tips to see how foams fare for me but given the stories I've heard about their durability it seems like an expensive solution.

Also for a mic, there are lots of choices. Sony has a lot of great cheap lavaliere mics for 20 bucks (as long as you have a noise gate they are perfect for PC, you can clip them on the end of your headphone cable like pic related).

Modmic frequently goes on sale for 35 bucks. Worth it for the unidirectional if you are going to use it on console or something. It does some decent native canceling. Plus they look nice installed.

I use the ATH-2020 Carotid mic (USB) personally.

Headphones are for reproducing sound. Only neutral headphones are even trying to do that properly, preserving sound the way the people in the recording studio and mastering worked so hard to.

I only have the fulla2, but I'd suggest it over the e10k because:
* Made in the US, not china.
* Line-in (can be used as an amp, without the DAC)
* Volume knob is nice
* Size/shape is more convenient
* Separate dedicated USB power allows to use the DAC with weak devices.
* Way more power than the e10k. Means it works well with a wider range of headphones.

So it's a much more convenient device overall, and doesn't cost that much more.

Speak about fulla2, I just received mine. I'm finally listening to music properly @ work, on my HD380 Pro.

I had tested a loaned fulla2 before, which led to the schiit stack I have at home.

Now I finally have the fulla2. Gone full circle.
