I know which site looks more appealing to me. Not to mention, TPB is plagued with popup adverts that even uBlock Origin can't take care of.
Movies on PTP have full technical specs, screenshot examples and comparisons of quality, and often encoder notes too.
The common downside of private trackers ('having to maintain a ratio' or 'forced to seed everything forever') don't apply on PTP, it's honestly just a joy to use.
Private trackers get earlier access to newer moves, and in better quality, and are better for discovery, all the while being a wholly more enjoyable user experience

They're both shit and they're both difficult to build a ratio on right now. Apollo is better because it has freeleech, but PTH (aka RED aka RETarded) just gave out 50 FL tokens, so maybe it's a wash. I suppose if you run a freeleech snatch script on APL it's the better choice.

Almost all of the movies/TV I download are done through couchpotato or sickrage which handle naming and such automagically, so I guess I don't run into that much. I've come across a couple of bad/low-quality files but it was honestly three or four out of the thousands and thousands of things that I've downloaded over the years. It's just got so much utility value.

I used to do that but I switched once I started using these automation tools. It's awesome to see an email pop up on my phone or whatever telling me that the next ep of my current TV show is waiting for me when I get home. Ultimate convenience. Also works with upcoming movies etc.
