>>

1. Ducky is a really good manufacturer and makes good quality boards
2. Comes in a variety of options, from RGB to white/blue LEDs to none as well as a bunch of switch types
3. Slick design
4. Minimalist KB that doesn't look too autismo "gaymur" like other mechanical on the market.

Sorry for only getting back to you now, turns out I do actually have a bag of mx browns laying around.

Should be about as many switches as you'd have on a TKL, though maybe less, I desoldered them from a quickfire TK, but I dunno if this is all of them, nor can I be bothered to count them. I don't really care for them, so if you cover the shipping costs to wherever you are, they're yours.

>>59096856
Probably yes. Making shit custom will most likely be more expensive than a cheap chinkboard. Desoldering isn't really difficult, it's just stupidly time consuming and not very interesting.

Yes, but everything is expensive here, for example, 30 pounds - 35 euros for 110 Gaterons. Not that expensive if you actually consider everything, but I was going for a budget KB.

Taobao has very cheap gaterons, but they didn't ship for 3 weeks and I just canceled the order. Might get into agents if they don't rip me off.

People are pissed that he makes gateron keep the molds exclusive to his runs. Question, guys. I love typing on my chiclet ThinkPad x121e, its excellent and solid. What is the Cherry switch equivalent to this keyboard? I have no idea what mechanical switches are like to type on because I've never been with one in person. I suspect I'd either like blues or browns. The thing is though, after using laptops for many years, the idea of pushing down large key caps seems strange to me, it feels like it wouldn't be as nice to type on and run your fingers over.

Anyone else have these feelings after using something similar to what I'm using now before moving to a mechanical keyboard?

The keyboard is the best thing about this machine. If I can find a keyboard alone which is better than this then I can detach myself from this thing and even use it in a docked configuration, seeing as the trackpoint is buggy as fuck and the trackpad isn't amazing.

There are low profile mechanical switches made by cherry that are similar to chiclet, but they suck ass. The clones made by gateron and kailh feel much better, but right now you can only buy the switches. There are keyboards coming out with those switches by the end of this year, or you can buy a set of them and build your own keyboard like a gh60

I'm getting bad key chatter. Can't RMA the thing, I'd be with out for way too long. I have a small software util that minimizes it but when I use it I sometimes don't get key registers in games and that's a massive problem.

there are Ducky keyboards that have something like that, but on an Fn layer so that you don't need to hit Fn + Function key. Instead you just hit the key that the media key is bound too. I never thought deep space looked good on your CP-SQ, but then I'm not a fan of deep space in general. Do you want a uniform profile again?

I still have the same Gateron set on mine, waiting forever for R6.

If you got cheap laser etched chink shit then the legends are gonna wear out. Its dye-sub and double shot that will never wear out. Also some chink brands will sell you ABS plastic as PBT

I have the same board but without windows keys from my gf's parents' basement. Pretty cool

>Any silent ones?
Thats impossible. But you can get something like matias quiet click thats even quieter then rubber domes while still having tactile feedback.
You can also get silent mx switches, but those are only availble in linear variants.
There are silenced zealios if you want reddit memes.
If you want electrocapacitive then you can get silenced topre

By silent I mean not as noisy as regular ones. I can't handle the loud clicking noise.
>>
Does anyone have a little shelf or something to store all your mechs to recommend (TKL and smaller)
>>
>>59114019
Well the sound of bottoming out is louder then the actuating mechanism of the switch. That is why a razer keyboard with browns is louder then a filco with blues. You can make it quieter by not buying a keyboard with a floating design like razer, using thick dense keycaps and some o rings to lower the sound of bottoming out. All those other switches listed are still a great choice
>>
>>59114198
ok so no Razor, red of some other decent brand. thanks goyim

What keyboard is that in the pic?

looks nice

Hey /mkg/, noob coming through. What is your absolute FAVORITE split style mechanical keyboard?

I am using a microsoft natural 4000 (rubberdome) right now, but I'm looking to get a mechanical keyboard in a similar split layout.

Any suggestions?

Ergodox looks nice, but I don't want to drop $200+ on a keyboard.
>>
Hey /mkg/, I'm looking for a keyboard.
It has to be around 80$, preferably TKL and an ISO layout.
It would be nice if I could change the keycaps in the future too.
>>
>>59113411

Deep Space is actually one of my favorites.

I like uniform layouts, so I am gonna try out XDA Milestone. Should be able to find something nice since I got all the option sets.

Sucks to have it just sitting there though.

Any special country?

Something like Ozone Strike Battle, Noppoo Lolita, etc. Similar keyboards. Perhaps old CM Storm Rapid-I's are dropping in price right now.

All depends on the availability in your country.
>>
>>59114596
You can get an ergodox cheaper if you get parts from falbatech and switchtop (or some other cheapo shop for switches). The dactyl and ergodox are by far the nicest split design boards.

Country would be France.
The keyboards you proposed don't really match my taste but that's okay.
I was expecting more of a V60 Mini type of keyboard if that makes sense.
And I know that < 80$ is a price tag that isn't great to buy a mechanical keyboard but if I can I'll just put more money into it.
>>
>>59092623
I switched from membranes to MX-Red, difference was day and night, also no more wrist pain :).
Cheap ass boards have the same switches as expensive boards, just get the cheapest board with the switch of your liking.
>>
>>59115186
Which one are you talking about ?
Got any link for me to check out ?
If you're thinking about just ordering a board and doing the rest from scratch I'm too much of a noob to do that myself.

The smaller the board, the more expensive it gets
usually.

Have tried looking on Amazon (I don't know french but there are lots of keyboards on German and British)
