Ducky One fullsize with cherry blues

I can't decide on the switch, so I guess I'll get a tester. I really like the blues I have but want something that's not so loud as an alternative.

I'm considering the Leopold FC750R, doesn't come in clears though. Maybe reds with o-rings?

So I'm really picky when it comes to the next keyboard I want to get. Full size, floating keys, metal plate mounted, clear or similar (Zeal, Mod) switches, PBT caps, no LEDs unless they're already included, and no media keys. Both custom sellers (Winkeyless, Gon) have things I don't like (media keys) and are expensive as fuck. I could wire and build one myself but would still require getting a proper case. The cheapest and easiest I see would be from just buying an existing chink keyboard and swapping the switches and caps.

tl;dr Is buying a chink mechanical keyboard just for the case and PCB a viable option?

You know both winkeyless and gon sell fully programmable keyboards right? The only reason they'd ever have media keys is if you made them have media keys.

Also winkeyless' bbb cases are 100% acrylic, the only metal is the screws and standoffs holding it all together.

>>
>>59039131
But how bad?
>>
>>59038924
The Anne PRO is $80. It has Gateron switches, 60% form factor and RGB backlights. That leaves you with $70 for keycaps, though it comes with some decent-ish PBT ones.
>>
>>59039146
How should I know, it's not like I'm going to purchase some shitty LEET GAYMER keyboard just to review it
>>
>>59039034
Not a bad option, thanks.

>>59039048
The cases have cutouts for the media key switches. There is no option in the store to remove them, although I could ask. I know Winkeyless is acrylic only, that is another issue.
>>
>>59039174
>LEET GAYMER
Literally how? It doesn't have that aesthetic at all nor is it being sold with reds or anything gaymur-bait like that.
>>
>>59039204
not him, but it literally looks like a chink corsair keyboard
hell, it might even be the same shit rebranded
>>
>>59039196
So what you really mean is you want a fullsize without the four extra keys above the numpad?
>>
>>59039164
how's the build quality? For some reason this board is a little off putting
>>
>>59039164
>>59039244
Also I don't think it has gateron blacks, which is the only gateron switch i'd be interested in, blues are too loud, already have browns, and reds don't seem appealing
>>
>>59039222
>chink corsair keyboard
So it's a cheaper corsair board? Great.
>>
>>59039244
>>59039267
It had some issues with the stabilizers on earlier batches, but they've fixed that now. Apart from that, not much to complain for $80. The case is plastic, the keycaps are PBT with a nice texture, but they're not thicc PBT, and it's generally quite a bit lighter than other keyboards I own, but it is a 60% after all.
Don't think you can get it with blacks though. Seems like the only three options, even on Taobao, are reds, blues and browns.
>>

>>

Good enough. Also uses all standard size keycaps so that's a plus.
>>
>>59039332
fuck that might be a deal breaker...like 50% of the reason i'm looking for a new one is cause i want a different experience than blues and browns
>>
>>59039354
How do gateron differ from cherry mx?
>>
>>59039383
they're a lot smoother
still, the one you linked doesn't have actual cherry switches, but kailh knockoffs instead, which are similar to cherry switches but slightly worse
it's completely acceptable for the price though
>>
>>59039225
Sorry, yes. No *dedicated* media keys. Pic above is why. Not interested in trying to match four redundant caps with the rest of the board.
>>
>>59039380
Maybe you can try reds, though I'm not sure what you're looking for. I've also bought mine because I wanted something new, because I'm used to blues and don't like browns, so I got one with reds, which are incredibly smooth and very light.
>>

Can't decide between a Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional (Japanese layout) or a Topre Realforce. I've been using a Topre Type Heaven for a few years and I love the Topre switches. I want to upgrade to something better but I can't decide.

I like the layout on the HHKB (My fucking cat constantly presses buttons on my keyboard so needing the function keys is a plus) but I've heard that the typing experience on the Realforce is better.

I'm typing this post with on a Unicomp that I've had for about five months, and I really enjoy typing on it, but hearing a click every time I scroll with the arrow keys does grate on my nerves occasionally, and since I live in a college dorm all of my neighbors know when I'm on the computer late at night. Not at all. Those do change, yeah, and they're significant changes, but there are a lot more things than just switches and layout, like the actual case design, backlights, overall build quality and materials (plastic or aluminum for example), extra features like being programmable or having a software, NKRO, bluetooth, etc.

So currently I'm stuck between the CM Storm Quickfire TK (Cherry Reds), the Rosewill RK-9300BR (Cherry Browns), and now the EagleTec KG010-N (Outemu Blues). The Rosewill is the most expensive and is in short supply, while the Quickfire is around $70 but has no dedicated arrow keys (they are mapped to the numpad). The EagleTec seems to combine them both but I have never tested out Outemu Blues so I don't know how they feel.

Figure out if you're okay with a TKL first. If you are, get the iKBC, if not, get the Rosewill, or the QuickFire if you're undecided. I'd probably go with the iKBC one, unless you need backlight.
>>
>>59051433
I'm fine with TKL, I would just like a backlight. Nothing too fancy, just a white one would be nice.
>>
>>59051448
Then it's basically a decision between the Rosewill and the QuickFire TK. I personally don't really like how either of those look, but the Rosewill looks a bit better, mainly because the bottom row seems to be standard, so you can easily change keycaps, but I'm not sure if you care about that.

Does anyone know about wireless mechanical boards? I've been looking for a good wireless keyboard to use with my bigscreen setup and don't want to get one of the couchboards like razer and corsair are making. I already have a good sized board (a nice piece of white birch I sanded and shaped to be ergonomic for me) and I don't want ANY cables.

Lots of neat options like a Ducky Zero, a Leopold FC900, a Keycool 104 if you can stand the legends, inexpensive chinkshit like Coolermaster, Rosewill or Ajazz if you like to play dangerously.

/mkg/ says Costar boards (Das, Filco, Coolermaster, Rosewill) are shit because stabilizers, Corsair/Logitech/Razer boards are shit because muh rice, but at the same time condone $30-40 ship-from-China boards with knockoff child labor switches and hairdryer soldering jobs. So who really knows in here?

>/mkg/ says Costar boards (Das, Filco, Coolermaster, Rosewill) are shit because stabilizers

When did happen? I remember Costar stabilisers being considered much than Cherry because they were more transparent or something.

The proportions look stupid as fuck.

Thanks for the details
I'll have a look at those although I like the design of the filco.

i never heard bad things about costar stabilizers, can you elaborate?

Das is shit because they switched their production line to a manufacturer in mainland China. Logitech, razer and Corsair are shit because of non-standard bottom rows and in the case of Logitech even non-standard stabilizer placement. Cooler master is generally considered the best bang-for-buck if you want cherry switches, filco is fine too, just overpriced.

Nothing wrong with cheap chinkboards in the 30-50 bucks range, many of them are available with gaterons, and even the ones that aren't are still quite decent. I don't know what gives you the idea that switches are assembled by hand, and last I had a 50 bucks chink board the soldering job wasn't any worse than what I've seen on my Ducky. Not to mention that a mechanical keyboard for 30 bucks is cheap as shit, barely a year ago 70 bucks was the cheapest you'd get a chink mech for.

What keyboard is that? Is it a POS keyboard?
>>
>>59062173
pcb says g80-1851 lucde-0.
i don't know if it's a pos, for sure a normal card won't fit. and there's no extra cable or connectors, only the normal usb one
>>
>>59062129
What switches were on that thing originally?
>>
>>59062823
I'd guess MX blacks.
>>
>>59062232
In germany the g80-1851 was custom made to be used by hospitals. There are atleast over 100,000 of them sitting in resellers across germany which is why they can be found for as low as 1€
