Is it possible for a graphics card to have poor colour output? Don't know how to put it in words but every monitor and TV screen I've attached to the RX 470 I got about a month back seems to have either been too yellow-ish or too dark, washed out, or just seem off, even after calibrating etc.

i have an asus x540s laptop with a strange issue.

it won't switch to battery power when i pull the power cable out unless the battery is on 100%. if the battery is on 99% and i pull the cable out then it just dies immediately like there is no battery installed and it wont turn back on unless it's plugged in (sometimes if i hold the power button down for like a minute it will die to start but then it dies on the loading windows screen.) however if i let it charge to 100% and then pull the cable out then it will switch to battery power and run for 5-6 hours like it's supposed to.

anyone know what could be causing this? i replaced the battery with a brand new one and formatted and installed a fresh copy of windows 10 and the problem persists

The card has only HDMI and DP ports and I have neither a DP cable or monitor. I've got a rather poor picture here, but it doesn't show it that well, up close it's very noticeable and off putting.

I thought it might have been a problem with the monitor (Asus VX239H) and had it returned, but I'm starting to doubt whether that was actually the source of the problem, as connecting it to the TV seems to have the same problems.

would a subaru forester or a honda civic make a better car for a /g/entooman
>>
>>58924452
There is, but it doesn't actually translate into any meaningful difference to the user. HDDs are slow as balls and have horrible random access times. Taking an SSD and doubling it's speed doesn't really do much for most applications. It's like the m.2 drives that blow away the sata 3 stat aren't nearly worth the price premium to 99% of people. And raid introduces some level of increased risk/incompatibility, plus it means you're going to limit your drive selection to something exactly the same size as your last one. I just wouldn't bother.

>>58924471
ok. and to answer your questino, you have to make an image of your current partition and store that on your HDD, then add the second SSD and setup RAID, then clone the OS image onto the RAID then expand that partition to the full size of your RAID (500gb -> 1TB for raid0)

I'm not dismissing it. I'm saying that even with that taken into account, there's not as much of a difference in failure rates as people assume. In a desktop there's even less. And SSDs actually have more sectors go bad than HDDs do.

So on this site, when I try to enlarge an image it constantly fucks up because of the anchoring. If the image is in the middle of my screen, it anchors the top of the image, so the image enlarges down on my screen.

BUT, if I scroll down a little bit, and the image is near the top of my screen, the image is anchored at the BOTTOM, so it enlarges up, and I have to scroll all the way back up to view the image. Same thing happens when I click to shrink it again so I constantly lose my place and have to scroll around.

This only started happening a few days ago. What is this shit. Does anyone else get this problem? I know it seems a little trivial but it's really annoying.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Anyone else done something similar to this? Seems pretty easy, but potentially boring as fuck (desk job, 8 hours a day, 230pm-midnight with occasional mandatory 10 hours of OT). so my OS has been having some annoying as fuck random errors, such as not being able to open folders almost every time I boot, not being able to open several programs even after reinstalling them, windows settings crashing when I try to do certain things like creating a new partition on my hard drive or trying to reset my operating system.

now what I'm trying to do is reinstall windows. when I boot from my windows 8 disk and try to install it tells me to boot windows as normal then run it, so I do that, but then I get pic related when I try to do so.

basically for some fucking reason I can't reinstall windows and for some bumfuck retarded reason I can't install from booting off the fucking disk which is the most retarded shit I've ever heard of.

the 3.0 ports on boards that have it work the same way, a controller attached to the pcie bus
the only difference is that one is soldered onto the motherboard and wired in permanently, and the other is on a daughterboard

I would imagine so, if the card has a controller on it. And PCIe x1 (as in the picture) has a throughput of 984 Megabytes per second (PCIe v3) which will be enough for Usb 3, which is specced at 625 MB/s

Obviously all ports cant do that at the same time continuously but you wouldn't see that in any normal use anyway.

I'll be migrating from Win7 to GNU/Linux and until that installation is set up and working properly, I can't delete windows because I'll be actively using it for work.

My current plan is

1. free up one of the 1TB drives, install Debian on a partition smaller than 500gb
2. set up everything, verify it's working.
3. create disk image of windows partition (as backup) save on rest of TB drive
4. create disk image of debian partition
5. format 500GB, move debian there, verify it's working again
6. delete win backup, format one data hdd to ext4, move all files there, format the other, organize files as intended.

Any ideas for a more elegant solution?
will the disk image copying work properly?
In the event that something goes wrong, and I reformat the OS hdd, can I go back to the original disk image with windows without issues?

looks like a URL. Beautiful Soup is not an HTTP client. You should probably use an HTTP client like requests to get the document behind the URL, and feed that document to Beautiful Soup.
' that document to Beautiful Soup.' % decoded_markup
https://github.com/ptwobrussell/Mining-the-Social-Web-2nd-Edition/issues/191

How would I "use an HTTP client to get the document behind the URL"?

I got some nice headphones 3 days ago, Superlux HD681 EVO. I really love them. Well, I use them on my laptop but recently I realized something.
After my laptop is in sleep mode I can't seem to hear anything anymore so I have to shut down and start up again. This is annoying. What can I do to have a comfortable time with my headphones all the time?
I'm using a Windows 7 Ultimate OS btw.

I'm a fucking retard, and since I just got my own apartment, I figured I should buy a tv and some speakers (pref 5.1 surround) so I can watch movies and listen to music as I please.

In any case, since I have decent laptop (and my gaming setup, but nvm that), I was wondering if I'd buy a smart tv, and a 5.1 home cinema system, could I hook up my laptop and watch movies on the tv as well as get sound out of my home cinema system, if I have a connection between the laptop-tv and tv-surround system? I assume I could, but I'm a bit worried the sound might drop out or bug somehow.
>>
>>58931455
the usual way is like this;
source---->receiver---->tv

the source can be anything, laptop, game console, standalone bluray/dvd player, etc
the receiver pulls the audio out of the hdmi signal, and passes the video on to the tv

it is common to connect a laptop or other computer like this, you should have no problems
>>
>>58931455
Should work if laptop has HDMI. May need to use 3.5mm for audio if you don't want to spend a lot. You'll get annoyed by input latency on the tv every time you touch the cursor. Don't use a subwoofer in an apartment. Get a seat kicker if you want that. You can be frugal with just two *good* speakers instead of five shits, and an amp or receiver to power them.

Yeah, my laptop has hdmi, and probably wouldn't move the cursor once I've put on the movie.

Samsung UE40J5205

three stars. You can do better for that price.

Maybe start with two good speakers and you can use them as satellites later if you want a 5.1/7.1/atmos setup. Just add speakers. You can mix and match passives.

Should I remove the heatsink and let it sit in the oven for 10 minutes at 180°? Anyhow, where did you get the 200? It's 300 isn't it

To anyone else who might be willing to answer my sq, let me rephrase it - if I put an SSD in a machine which has SATA2, would there be any performance difference between a fancy speedy one and one whose read and write speeds are just about those of SATA2 itself?

What causes win 8 and never machines without SSD to get stuck at 100% disc usage after few years of constant use? Most of my uni group have bought their laptops around 2013 and they all suffer from this, while win 7 machines work just fine. I don't expect SATA3 speeds, I'm just wondering whether an SSD, let's call it A, capable of 500 MB/s, and B, capable of 300, would be both equally cut to 300 flat on a 300 interface, or would B be even somewhat slower than that.

Fuck, Old image from before blackfriday. Now I Crossfire 2x R9 R90.

I was thinking about buying this monitor https://www.amazon.de/AOC-AGON-AG241QX-8Zoll-1000/dp/B01LT04C30/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486805612&sr=8-1&keywords=aoc+ag241qx

Should I just get a 1080p version then? the 3DMark Demo on steam said I was 4K ready so thought 1440p shouldn't be much of a problem. Also I could play The Forest on 3200x1800 with no fps drops, noticed this when the game changed to that resolution after an update. ( I know my monitor can't display this but doesn't the computer render everything as if I did?)

I guess, Well I'm not hoping for 144Hz really, I just want over 60Hz mostly because of this shitty monitor I have now tears when scrolling text, I can't watch Netflix on it because half of the screen lags behind. I mostly use my tv at the moment for all games but Dota and CS.

Can run fallout 4 on ultra too and that's my newest game.
