opinions? (coolermaster storm xt with cherry mx blue switches)

it was the only one I could find that:
- had a numpad
- had no retarded leds under the keys
- had blue switches

lack of any of these is an automatic deal breaker for me

but seriously, do you like clears? I'm undecided between blues and clears. Even though clears are tactile, blues have a much more pronounced tactile bump, regardless of sound.

that is not even close to true
>>
>>58720500
clears are the most tactile switch that cherry has. It's an absolutely fantastic switch.
>>
>>58720559
>>58720586

>that is not even close to true

I bought a switch tester and tried them. The blue clearly (lol) has more of a bump. Not even a bump really, it's more of a snap.

It says "cherry" on the switch, but maybe I got goofed?

Additional surprising things:

>the heaviest clicky (gray?) has a really quiet click
>almost can't feel tactility on the brown
>>
>>58720614
>The blue clearly (lol) has more of a bump
It literally doesnt. It's not subjective.

>>the heaviest clicky (gray?) has a really quiet click
Grey's don't click at all. Only cherry greens, blues, and whites click.
>>
>>58720659
>It literally doesnt. It's not subjective.

I'll post the tester later.

>Grey's don't click at all. Only cherry greens, blues, and whites click.

That's why I put "gray" with a question mark, I didn't remember the color.

>currently have my second das keyboard. First one was great, but I spilled something on it and the Alt key being sticky bugged me, so when the new generation of Das came out I sold the old one and upgraded. It's a really great keyboard with one issue: I didn't realize when I bought it that they had changed out the Cherry switches for Greetech. Lately, the WASD keys seem to stick on randomly ONLY when I play vidya. It doesn't happen that often, but it's back-breaking when it does. At first I wasn't sure why it was doing this, but I think I'm convinced it's just the switches at the end of their life.

Any reccs appreciated.

What's the point of all these gay little mini keyboards? Are you carrying these things around with you or do you just like to make daily tasks like using function keys or typing numbers more difficult for no reason.
>>
>>58719864

> DAILY REMINDER

That you're butt hurt over a fucking USB cable?

That you're poor enough to care about the pittance it cost?

That you're shallow enough to buy an "artisan" USB cable cause the color matches your riced up keyboard?

That no matter how pleased you are with the aesthetics of your special snowflake keyboard, your perfect Android lock screen theme, your cute PC case with color coordinated components, etc. None of which ever makes up for your intellectual shortcomings and overall lack of accomplishment?

Still can't program your way out of mom's basement with those modded switches and PBT keycaps...so perfectly tactile and silenced, yet still they feel unfinished -- the romantic dream you had of the perfect typing tool hasn't increased your WPM like you'd hoped, and the overwhelming feeling of incompleteness this causes you leaves you unable to face the reality that your autistically retentive conspicuous consumption will never help you earn the kind of money that would persuade women to forgive your utter lack of self confidence and character.

So you've come here whining and betraying your misplaced priorities in hopes that someone will care about you just because the only thing you've ever had the persistence to carry through with was repeatedly disparaging some guy who makes USB cables in his garage.

tl;dr: We got it, you can stop shit posting

Nope not even close. Matias actuate towards the top of the switch, which is even higher then cherry MX. Buckling springs actuate at a distance lower then that of a cherry MX switch. If anything a cherry green would be more similar to a buckling spring then a wobbly matias switch

You don't have to get new keycaps. Eventually the oils from your skin will wear away the entire top of them, and then you can claim that you had blank keycaps this whole time. Though you can get PBT keycaps that will last you a long time. The keycaps on my Model M still look like they're brand new, even though the keyboard is older then me.

and as the other anon said, they have poor build quality, corsair has a non-standard bottom row which means finding keycaps is a pain, and razer keeps doing shit to make their keyboard even cheaper, like using shit chink cherry clones, while not dropping the price
you can buy better keyboards with the same features for the same price, all with a standard row, better build quality and maybe either get some better keycaps with it or have money left to buy a decent set

are these readily available? im new to Mechanical Keyboards and like these a lot but im in between jobs and dont want to spend 100 dollars on keycaps

where else can i get them?
>>
>>58737682
Once the drop ends they'll never come back again. Thats why some people resell these sets for $400
>>
>>58737824
wait really? they seem so popular why would they do that
>>
>>58737682
Assdrop.com is the only place. Maybe if you're luck Matt3o wil do another drop after a couple of years. Don't expect them to be readily available
>>
>>58737855
god fucking dammit

should i get them now or are they just a "meme"

i barely know anything about these keyboards

Thats why they've sold like 2000+ units. You know what they say you snooze you lose. Also the person who designed them doesn't own the tooling, and the person who owns the tooling doesn't own the design. So they both have to come to an agreement. Personally I'm waiting on gmk carbon since I missed the last drop. Luckily there should be one this year since it was the most popular gmk keyset ever made. If you don't get it now prepare to wait a long time
>>
>>58737909
fuck that's beautiful. A shame it's mempre
>>
>>58737899
You don't need fancy keycaps. It's the same reason why people buy golden watches. Its just a thing you use to brag online.

Those keycaps are for cherry mx. Someone just used an adapter to get them to work on topre. I thought they looked nice on an HHKB so I saved the image
>>
>>58737985
>Those keycaps are for cherry mx

Yeah I guessed so, it's just a shame they're wasted on a memepre
>>
>>58737679
I think you got the one I cancelled the order for
>>
i dont understand these seem so popular, why dont they put them into production

>>58737947
but i really like them
>>

>>
>>58738013
>but i really like them

go for it if you're either dumb or extremely comfortable about wasting money
>>
>>58738013
Then get them now or else you'll never get them again. Some people have been waiting 4+ years for penumra
>>
>>58738033
How cares, carbon was cheaper then most PBT sets. It was like 60 bucks while Enjoy PBT was 80
>>
>>58738033
>worthless

Shiny? Lettering gone?

Shine is shit, but general wear only adds character to the keyboard.
>>
>>58738007
Highly doubt it as I pre-ordered it via mail before they were annouced as available.

Anyway they still have this model and color.
>>
>>58718750
what's a good tenkeyless keyboard that's a nice middle ground between cheap and good quality?
as in reliable, but not HHKB expensive
>>
>>58738047
well i only have 80 bucks in my checking account so i guess ill have to pass

fucking hell why do i have such expensive taste
>>
>>58738071
consider putting more money into your education instead of keyboard plastic, your english is atrocious

>>58738077
shine. they're doubleshot so the legends shouldn't be an issue
>>
>>58738093
Ducky One TKL is a nice mid range brand with plenty of features like macros, layers, as well as good build quality.
>>
>>58737843
thats just how shit works
fancy stuff is limited, and if you miss it, be ready to pay a lot more than the original price, specially when they're already expensive to begin with
being into mechanical keyboards and general buyfagging is a curse

Whats your opinion of topre switches?. Currently using blues but after progamming for more than a few hours it makes my fingers hurt so I'm looking for something abit lighter.
>>
>>58738220
I don't like them, but switches are a preference thing.
how light do you want to go, gateron clears are like 35g for example.

How does one go about ordering a TADA68 now? The Website just says 'sold out' & has spaces to submit name/email but doesn't actually say if that's to sign up for stock notification or...?

Hey guys, do you know of a keyboard that has the following characteristics:
*Less wasted space between keys than regular boards
*Function keys lined up with 1-0 number keys
*Additional programmable buttons next to caps lock
*bonus: one or more scrollwheels for volume/etc

Or ideally, a place where someone that is admittedly less than average at building things can find something equal to those requirements and build it themselves.

In any case, have a Kagura for your troubles.

are you familiar with the concept of mailing lists?
>>
>>58738455
You could buy one directly from China.

Get it from Taobao, but wait until the Chinese holidays are over. Ordered one there a bit over a week ago and they still haven't shipped it. It's also like $60 there, which is less than half of what you'd pay on Originative.
>>
>>58738220
they feel nice but they're not for me. they're not for anyone who doesn't like bottoming out keys imo
>>
>>58738551
>>58738679
It's been years since I ordered anything from Taobao, do you still have to use a forwarding agent? Or can you actually have the sellers ship straight to you?
>>
>>58739380
You need chinese paypal and ask the seller. Usually they do
