https://copperhead.co is another possible solution, although it's a bit more lenient than replicant is when it comes to proprietary shit.

Blackphone is a lot of hype that I don't think is worth it. Realistically all that it's doing for the most part is stuffing your data through their private VPN. If you really wanted to, you could go entirely custom with a nexus or whatever and use a VPN of your own that you trust.

Can the IMEI number of a phone change/be changed? I got a phone off some probably shady refurbished phone seller on eBay. The device has problems on hardware side and I'm trying to return it. They are asking me what the IMEI number is. When I got the phone I did flash a few different official firmwares on it, but i didn't unlock the bootloader or anything. Will they be able to see that from the IMEI? I can't tell if it's a ploy or they keep such bad track of their inventory.

I didn't write down the number at first or anything so I don't have a clue if it indeed has changed or not.

IMEI doesn't change. IMEI is related mostly to hardware. Think of it as a unique identifier for every single device. This way when devices are stolen, manufacturers for example can just blacklist those IMEIs.

The BQ is the only phone on the market right now with Galileo support

My last phone got a deadzone on the touchscreen. I hadn't done anything to it. I was just on the train using it to listen to music when part of the lower half suddenly stopped responding. My hands were really sweaty at the time so maybe it got into the cracks.

How's the camera on it? I used a moto x 2014 for a while and that thing, if the lighting wasn't the sun pouring directly down on it, it'd be grainy and likely couldn't focus. Otherwise, the photos were acceptable.

G4 and P9 is pretty similar and I like both designs for different reasons but because of little things like slightly better price, unfortunate speaker placement, unnecessary sensors sending your fingerprints straight to nsa, no fast charging, no glass protection, shiny HUAWEI inscription I'm leaning more to G4.

Battery life is pretty much the only thing I like over the others for Samsung.

Any major reason to get one over the other (like bootloops)?

It's a computer anon, it works by sending stuff for the CPU to eat and outputing memories, starting from the MBR and working its way up.

It is certainly possible, but clearly it requires a more elaborate approach than just "download rom and flash" which most people think is "mad phone hacking skillz".

The HTC 10 has some kind of pseudo 50 fps lock. I was trying out some 60 fps videos and was wondering why they weren't smooth. It keeps the FPS at around 50 unless you actually touch the screen, games and benchmarks generally seem exempt.

I have a Samsung J7 Prime and people say the PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen(Corning Gorilla Glass) it has is not good. The screen size is 5.5in and I read a lot, and the screen hasn't let me down getting my eyes strained nor anything. The pixels in my J7P are only partially visible if you are like 2 cms away from the screen.
