literally who?
>>52945053
it works!
>yfw they delete the memory of them knowing how to delete memories.
>>52944900
>tfw you can finally rm -rf / your brain
Why would you want to forget something that is a part of your life?
It's kinda pointless when you'll get wiped eventually.
>>52945081
they must have a backup mechanism in case they fuck up right ?
>>52945176
Yea sure, it's totally safe.
Erasing is always WAY simpler that re-implementing. Or even making a copy.
What file format should you use for brain memory? That's just impossible before we know exactly, at a very low leve,l how memory actually works.
>>52944900
PBS Nova did a program this week on memory. I wasn't paying too much attention to it in the beginning as it had a stupid name (Memory Hackers). But the majority of the program was interesting. There was some BS in my opinion.
The most interesting part was how they controlled the memory of a lab rodent by shining a laser on it's brain. Without the light the rodent was afraid when it was placed in an open enclosure with no place to hide. With the laser the rodent was behaving as it would in an environment more hospitable for rodents.
It seemed almost Inception-esque at some points of the program. They seem to show the ability to implant/remove memories. But without needing DiCaprio.
Other parts seemed a little stupid to me. They claimed they were implanting memories in human test subjects using suggestion. IMO they were just showing how easily weak minded people could be influenced. But I'm no scientist so whatever.
I don't know if you can watch it outside of the USA:

i know it's not a memory but we can have a backup mechanism

This is only part of memory, it's viewing/making a copy, not putting that copy back to place and it's poor quality.
To arrive to the point of being able to make a back-up and restoring it. We have to go way beyond that. That's may actually be the hardest thing we can do with memory and only achieve that only after we achieve everything else about manipulating memory.
no NO NO
mind control is getting closer every day
>>52944900
Let me guess, its basically lobotomy?
>>52945668
I wanna be mind controlled into being a pretty princess.
Just reading the title of this article alone screams CLICKBAIT POP SCIENCE
Anytime you hear some ground-breaking claim about neuro-research, take it with a fistful of salt. The model for the neuron is incomplete and a work in progress, nevermind more complex systems, like memory, motor function, etc.
It's like transcranial direct current stimulation being reported as BRAIN HACKING
BIOHACKERS OVERCLOCK THEIR BRAIN
It's just a 1-2ma current weakly affecting cortical neurons, but it sounds way more HAS SCIENCE GONE MAD if you bullshit about it
>>52945836
>implying you wont get brainhacked into diddling kids and get caught for it by some shutter on the deepweb
So I can unsee what I have seen? Neat.

I can finally delete trump from my memory.

I want to forget my teen years
I did some....... Let's say embarrassing stuff
>>52950001
downloading wat ?
>>52950583
of course you did, you were a teen, every teen does embarrasing stuffs
only teens don't think teens do embarrasing stuffs, they're all "i'm all mature and shit", then they grow up and realize they really were as dumb as people said they were, if not moreso
finally a way to challenge myself
i already know everything so i am unable to feel the challenge of mastering a new subject anymore
with this technology i will finally be able to provide the mental stimulation i require
>>52950619
the episode, ya dip
Wonder about deleting memories of a game, film, or song you love, so you can experience it for the first time again.
What if you didn't like it the second time?
>>52944900
No. No they have not. None of you people even actually watched it.
They figured out how to make the memory unstable.
Not erase it at all.
There is a drug to stop "Memory Consolidation"
>Consolidation is the processes of stabilizing a memory trace after the initial acquisition. It may perhaps be thought of part of the process of encoding or of storage, or it may be considered as a memory process in its own right.
Stop being fags, news. Always with stupid view-whoring tactics.
>>52944900
>I can finally forget her
>>52950810
Also some pretty cool stuff about triggering memories and even implanting false ones.magnet:?xt=urn:btih:C4FE27C61280FC441B652CF8001E87CF0363D641&dn=nova+s43e15+memory+hackers+720p+hdtv+x264-w4f+mkv&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.opentrackr.org%3A1337%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fopen.demonii.com%3A1337%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2F9.rarbg.to%3A2710%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.trackerfix.com%3A80%2Fannounce

I always got this problem: what counted as real 'me'? When you wake up, how do you know you are the same soul that slept yesterday, but not a new soul with old memories and same personality.
Just like when you _soul = sleep(soul), how do you know if sleep() didn't return new Soul(soul.data);
>>52956437
Just a variable name mate, just how do you know you are the old you, not a newly implemented one.
>>52956525
Time is a river, you are not the you you were a nanosecond ago. Memories of the old you are all that remain, tucked away inside your brain.

where's the part where they edit memories?
>>52944900
Does this mean I can erase my memory of good shows/games so I can experience then for the first time again?
>cia niggers probably do this to potential whistleblowers
