This is pathetic at this point.
Why are you complaining that people are coming up with an objective way of comparing two devices? It's a hell of a lot better than, "it's faster because angry birds loads faster here then badlands does on the other phone", which is what we would have without benchmarks.
You guys are fucking idiots
>resolution affects it
>benchmarks on a phone.
Comparing benchmarks between OS's is retarded. Android is shit in synthetic benchmarks, and usually completeley unoptimized in opengl benchmarks.
Think of this, windows vs linux in gaymen. Performance (specifically GPU) under linux is shit compared to windows.
Apple is literally underpowered as fuck, but they have a small device variety and can optimize all they want.
The 520 and A9 are actually pretty close in performance, the memory benchmark is interesting, I dunno if that comes from the 520 or from the RAM they are using but still.
It is honestly pathetic that the people who write articles for that site can't read a graph.
Why does the iPhone perform better off screen in T-Rex than on screen, but equal in Manhattan?
>Yes, the Snapdragon 820 is powering a 6.2-inch display with a sharper 2560×1600 resolution (compared to the iPhone’s 5.5-inch display with 1920×1080 resolution)
The article author is retarded, the snapdragon definitely beats the A9, the snapdragon as twice as many pixels to render, no wonder the A9 is slightly ahead in the graph.
I love the next part.
>but even so, it should probably achieve greater scores given its strength on paper.
>The Snapdragon 820 has two Kyro cores clocked at 2.1GHz, and two Kyro cores clocked at 1.6GHz. That’s four cores in total. In comparison, the A9 has two cores clocked at 1.8GHz… and that’s it! Seriously.
They're talking about the CPU cores! In a graphics benchmark!
>The good news is, apps (mostly games) which tap OpenGL or Apple’s Metal for rendering can opt out of the downsampling routine and draw directly into an image buffer which matches the native device resolution, so no blurring or artifacts occur.
Oh I see.
The fun thing is that they pretty much ruled out most of the excuses for going with a 1920x1080 5.5" panel for the 6+ instead of the higher 2208x1242 "native" resolution for that size by staying with that resolution for the 6S+ an entire fucking year later.
The main remaining excuse is "maintaining profit margin". Which literally means they are shipping an inferior product to maximize profit.
Literally every company does that you retarded kid, it's a question of how much that compromise effects you personally as a consumer and you factor that into your purchase decision.
It's not "normal" logic you fucktard its basic common sense.
Apple devices aren't even really "premium" they're in the same realm as samshit, they are mass produced consumer electronic devices.
Ok? Who the fuck cares? The 820 still beat it during offscreen testing and still pulled its own weight at 1440p. At the same resolution, the snapdragon 820 beats the A9, end of fucking story.
>finds mass popularity on /pol/, only after which does it start showing up every where else
>"its /int/ shit retard hurrr"
Why would you even respond. You are cancer. Later chumps.
Not him, but I think he means there's some nuance to the degree something is "gimped". E.g.. Android phones would have 10% margins where Apple products would have 300% margins: they both have gimped prices, but it's a real issue with Apple and not with Android because of the significant difference in degree of gimp.
wow the 820 will be king of the hill until the 7.
big fucking yawn all that cpu power wasted on android and limited battery life. plug the phone into a wall and run cpu burning benchmarks and watch any phone melt.
Apple doesn't do major redesigns on the chip on number releases and the A9 is already around it's clock limit in a device that size.
They won't squeeze too much more out of it for the iPhone 7.
>iOS pushes all user apps onto a single core so that system wont interfere with it
>single core performance is what matters guys!
>so that system wont interfere with it
that makes no sense at all
also my post wasn't suggesting that it matters at all
If iOS wasn't such a cuck operating system I'd probably have another iPhone.
Android is shit.
It fucking hogs the shit out of memory.
Even fucking Snapchats stutters up on my G4 because of the piece is shit using so much God damn memory.
>Yes, the Snapdragon 820 is powering a 6.2-inch display with a sharper 2560×1600 resolution (compared to the iPhone’s 5.5-inch display with 1920×1080 resolution), but even so, it should probably achieve greater scores given its strength on paper.
>hurr it's faster on paper, but when you use a screen that is double the resolution it's slower
and the snapdragon 810
>I thought I bought a phone to browse the web
>not run computationally expensive tasks and chew through the stupidly limited battery life.
Have you seen modern websites? Looked at them under the hood? Even if a site appears simple, it is usually stupidly complicated and CPU intensive now days. And the advertising layer makes it even more so.
Firefox with just a few tabs open to modern sites takes up more CPU and RAM than my NetBeans instance.
If you want a device for browsing, it needs CPU muscle nowdays.
>my samsung S3 is pretty fucking shit. opening anything takes ages.
Get archidroid nigga
Best ROM out there for the S3, is like having a new phone.
