What cheap Chinese tech have you bought, and would you recommend it?

Personally I've ordered:
> JINHAO 599 $2 Fountain Pen
> E17 CREE XM-L T6 3800 Lumens
> NIMH batteries and charger
> cheap multimeter
>>
A ping pao pencil

Syba Raid Controller - not recommended, though I can't prove I didn't flash the wrong BIOS
Orico portable USB3 drive enclosure - recommended, haven't been very hard on it though
TP-Link router many years ago - recommended, though it's reputable these days.

I'm looking for a new router though, one with acceptable wifi and gigabit ethernet.
>>

Actually closer to two weeks, which isn't too bad. And you're not saving a few cents, this shit is usually half the price or less.

also is the regular edition really worth the more than 100+ price?

Well, I guess it did end up finding its way to the border according to tracking, but damn do I find this dumb.

Pretty hyped for what's to come in it though, really hoping it lives up to my expectation of a decent video-watching/web-browsing laptop.

My knockoff 8gb Kingston keychain USB came in yesterday. It passed h2testw. Best $2.85 I ever spent.

Also ordered a mic module for an arduino project. Its completely useless. Doesn't detect anything unless I'm tapping on it, and even then, it's pretty shit.
>>
>>52654693
More like "buy shit literally not available anywhere else."
Exact size of LiPo? Only Chinese will have it.
Most of the small glue ICs in use on modern mobos? Only the Chinese.
etc...
>>
>>52660538
>>52660535
Sounds good. I haven't checked other Chinese phones. Oneplus is the one alot of people are talking about, so I decided to go with them.

IMO, Oneplus is the iPhone of Android. Without the bad stuff.

Sucks the 1 & 2 don't have and SD card. But a dual SD card is totally needed. -_-

Didn't read the carefully.

I suppose it's because online Chinese merchants had more at stake. Everyone is watching them. One bad move could break them. The meme Chinese tech is bad is pretty common to many people. So you can't just pussyfoot and think you'll get monies.
>>
>>52660657
One factor: retail space.

Any local Chinese junkstore has to factor in the cost of renting a space. That plus they don't have huge amounts of competition, so they can just drive prices up as much as they want.

Shit direct from china has none of those problems

>>
>>52661995

So basically its a mobile mini server?
>>
>>52662706
Sure. Server, torrent client, captive portal and much else will be achievable after replacing the firmware with openwrt. I bought one of those wireless SD cards for suchlike, but was stymied by the inability to use the internal storage without external setup commands. This sounds like it can just be slapped into a cell power bank used as a pocket wifi/router/headless linux machine.

Fuck I love this headset holy shit I can have it in all the time and it's so discreet, I can use it at work (they banned earbuds). By having it only in one ear it doesn't disrupt my normal day-to-day conversations etc, it's like my life has a soundtrack. Now all I need to live out the movie Her is a really good AI.

Bought the rest for an FPV setup for my rc planes, easycap has a chip incompatible with the easycap viewer on android... might just buy a $15 monitor with rca input meant for backup cameras instead

>bobovr z3 (~20$)
Wanted to try google cardboard. The bluetooth remote it came with is broken. Hope eBay can hook me up with some kind of refund.
Wouldn't recommend because uncomfortable. The nose cutout is too small, I don't have a high nose bridge.
>nillkin 6p 0.2mm tgsp (~8$)
Awesome for the price, would have cost me 35$ if I got it from a local shop.
>generic USB type c dock (~4$)
Just fine, even came with some decent double sided tape.
>KZ ED9 (~11$)
Goofy looking and heavy for in ears but sound alright, little bit too bright in my opinion. Moving the cable causes crackles when I use them on my desktop USB dac, fine in my phone.
>KZ HDS1(~7$)
For the price they're OK but the sound is a little recessed if that makes sense, like everything is just a little bit distorted, with eq down 4db at 8k and 2 at 16k it's doable.
>Xiaomi Hybrid Pistons (~17$)
Lovely, thinking about getting another pair just in case these die from frequent use at some point.
>those znaps/magsafe USB cables (~6$)
The plug connections are really shit quality and wear out very quickly, don't bother.
>USB type c microsd reader, has what looks like UP written on it (~5$)
Won't work, phone will attempt to format the sd card and never finish or just quit. I gave up on it after 30 minutes.
>nillkin 5v 2a charger (~7$)
Seems alright, reminds me of the oneplus charger. This one doesn't have the high frequency whine though so that's nice.
>bm800 mic (~15$)
Works well enough with active ambient noise removal and phantom power.
>one of those rii 2.4ghz mini keyboards (~10$)
Promising battery life, trackpad works well, buttons are nice and clicky. Miss my dinovo mini's backlighting though.

Yeah, I just calculated and 48000mAh would mean energy density larger than 1000 Wh/liter (this is neglecting the volume of the solar panel, the circuits and the rounded corners).
According to Wikipedia state of the art batteries are around 676 Wh/liter. I wouldn't believe that this is even 30000mAh though. It's too cheap and too small for that.

I bought Piston 3 a couple of weeks ago because everyone was pushing them here, I think it was before the Cheap Chink Shit Gen. became a thing.

Obviously I wasn't informed and got the fakes (then again they were like 4 bucks). They sit in my ears really well, I haven't seen earphones with better ergonomy desu. So take care and buy the ones that are more metalic on the outside (not nearly black) and cost about 12 bucks, not 4.

Gonna buy the real ones soon and probably

Gaymer gear like Razer and Zowie are recommended because they're the only brands that realize optical > laser and are the closest you can get to nailing the ancient Intellimouse shape, and when they're working, they DO work really well

What those guides fail to mention however is that QC is all over the fucking place, so for every Deathadder or FK1 that some anon will be able to abuse for years, there's a handful that'll need to be RMA'd because the switches start double-clicking in a matter of months, while the rubber turns into a grainy mess, so after light usage, you'll have some sort of residue on your fingers that you can't see, but can totally feel, so it's a cycle of use the mouse, wash your hands, use the mouse, wash your hands, use the mouse, wash your hands

~Replying to some dead posts because I just got off work~

I own one of those (actually several of the $0.99 variety, possibly knockoffs)

I have no idea how bright they are in lumens. They are not bright enough to replace an overhead light. They are quite bright enough to replace a desk lamp for reading, playing cards etc. They are nicer than actual flashlights for navigating through dark rooms (nighttime piss etc) because the light is spread out and diffuse rather than concentrated.

I actually like these better:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-LED-USB-Portable-Light-maximum-illumination-for-Laptop-Notebook-PC-HOT-2016-/221994647247

because the lights are more spread out so you have less of a problem creating shadows with your hands, etc. They are very useful for night-time computing on older laptops without thinklights or backlights.

My groin hurts just looking at this. Also, wouldn't a real carbon fibre saddle cost much more based on primary resource costs alone?

He didn't say carbon fiber, he said carbon. It's made out of charcoal.

I'm about to order a bunch of these. I'll probably keep one or two in my car just for shits and giggles.

I caught myself thinking about that.

One for the car, two for the pc, another for the laptop, one for my keyboard, one I could wire to my voltmeter - it was at that point that I decided I do not need to order more than like four. Two because I actually have a use for them, and two because why not have some spares that I'll never use and can fill up my junk drawer with.

latest build of sultans rom is pretty shit. Has a bizarre battery calibration issue. Latest self-built slimrom has been the best for me this year.

Any of you know if asking banggood to declare the 85 euro tablet to just be 21 euro will work? For some reason I have to pay stupid high import tax for anything that costs more than 22 euro in my country. What a rip off.

Sweet. Those chink tablets have the same internals as tablets priced 3 to 4 times as much over here. Would I be safer in choosing air parcel or expedited delivery?

Could anyone here give some recommendations on IP cams?

I wanna buy this but I'm afraid of waiting 2 months for something that will stop working in 2 weeks

Should I do it? Are there other reviews?

Where's the 64gb that's in the picture?

Is expedited shipping a surefire way to get your shit inspected by customs? I'm tempted to get it for the fast delivery time.

Yes, absolutely.

t. Bought at least a thousand components from China over the years

Check out the ddwrt and openwrt forums. They'll point you in the right direction.

I really want the banana pi router to be good, but the performance is dismal. So close though. Plenty of RAM and CPU, SATA, gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n.
>>
>>52685189
Darn, I better not use it for a tablet then. Sucks that I'll have to wait a month to get a decent tablet over here.

They work fine. Don't seem to burn out. Get the right color temperature, and don't go too bright. First one I got was blinding, second one I bought appeared about twice as bright as the stock incandescent my car came with, and was perfect.

Pretty much

The dark lenses make your pupils dilate and let in more light rather than blocking it

The reason sunglasses protect your eyes it the UV coating

You don't need $800 Dior shades to protect your ballz tho

If you're in Europe you can get stuff from Banggood past the customs by chosing the relatively cheap Priority Direct Mail.

Got pic related, it's chickshit but from an actual store.
Had a few back this time last year, at $90 each, but they've gone on clearance for $50 so I picked one up and ordered another two in from a store that had more in stock.
Love them, just wish they didn't die so often.
Internally they're just bog standard INET boards like everything else.

Yes, if the seller has some reputation to lose they rather give you back the money on Aliexpress. But you maybe have to provide a picture to prove that something is wrong.
