Is there any reason to upgrade from my Sempron 2400+?
We have no way of knowing without knowing what you do or want to do with it. It's possible that it is fine for what you do on computers.

I've got a Sempron 140. It cost me something like $32 new, about six years ago. It works great in my headless Linux server. I used it as a general use desktop for a while when my main desktop's mobo died. I'd call it usable for basic browsing, but I'd really want at least something with more than one core for general use.
