I am planning to seriously learn a lot of IT topics.
I'm not an illiterate in IT. I know basic programming, basic algorithms and data structures, basic math...

What I'm trying to do is to go in depth into various topics.

I am really motivated to go into security research / exploit development, so this is what I will do:

1. Learning about computer architecture. [ Structured Computer Organization (5th Edition), Andrew S. Tanenbaum ]
2. Learning about networks. [ Computer Networks (5th Edition), Andrew S. Tanenbaum ]
3.Learn more about programming, algorithms and data structures (not sure about the resources yet)
4. Get into network security (now that I have the network basics) and penetration testing. (not sure about the resources yet)

Of course, that's a long way. I'm not denying it.
And I'm really willing to study all that.

What do you advise? A better path? Different resources?

Nobody? /g/, I need advices before I start this long path! Please. :|

Make sure you don't neglect practical experience in favour of reading. Take some advanced math classes.

I missed one

You should know everything in the beginner section and at least 3 from the core section before specializing. You could probably plough through most of this link in about a year if you did 16 hours a day but you'd want to kill yourself at the end of it.

Thank you! I will do pratical activities too.
Anyway, I am not planning on finishing in the shortest time possible. I don't care a lot about time. I will take my time. Understanding over rush (unlike the approach many people have).
I think it will surely be a 5+ years journey.

>The intentionally slow learner controls of the pace and direction of learning. She is responsible for her own curriculum, the nature of her learning, her choice of teachers, mentors, community. She chooses and is responsible for the outcomes and the impact of her learning.
>she
>her
Women are just retarded.

I'm a man. Nonetheless, your point is nonsense.
