should i buy one of these phones? i dont see much of a downside plus i like fhe finger print reader in the back
I am on a Note 3, but had decided awhile ago that my next phone would run stock Android, but fuck me, none of the stock Androids come with accessible microsd.
Guess Im cucked.
The 810 is an anomalously bad chip, the Krait chips before it (800, 801, 805) were solid, the 810 was a rushed ARMv8 chip. The 820 is another in-house Qualcomm architecture like the Krait chips so it's going to be good again. It's definitely worth waiting, since 820 phones are within 2 months of release.
820 also allows ultrasonic fingerprint scanning (fingerprint scanning through the display) which is a huge bonus.
I have a Nexus 5X and I would buy it again. What you get is:
>It just werks
>With the addition of it being android, always the newest
>Prioritized over other phones in terms of OS
>Perfect sized screen
>Enough power to do anything
>Camera is good
What you aren't getting
>MicroSD slot (this is bad)
>Large capacity battery (that's what powerbanks are for, I carry a 6000mAh with me)
I don't know really other downsides to it. I absolutely love this phone.
>Perfect sized screen
Eh, this one's debatable. IMO, 5.2" is still a little unwieldly for the typical hand size, while also being too small for any appreciable movie watching experience, which really requires at least a 5.7" phone (even my 5.5" phone doesn't feel too good for movies).
If you're not a poor fag you'll have service everywhere and it loads instantly. You sit here and complain about "muh sd card slot" because you need storage, when you can literally store it off device and stream it to anything with an internet connection. /g/ is full of morons. Why don't you just get an iPhone instead, it's more your speed.
>slightly better display (they're both good 1080p 5.2" displays, but the 5X is calibrated to perfection)
>probably a bit worse battery life
>way better software experience
That's about it. I'd personally stick with the G2 for a little while yet, but it's not a bad upgrade.
Literally why the fuck would I stream when I can store all my music on my phone? The one who should buy an iPhone is you. Fuck off, retard.
>I need hundreds of onboard gigs for my kpop albums!
>new fangled cloud technology is for fags!
>he doesn't archive his music in FLAC, then encode it to a high quality lossy format like Vorbis
My entire library, with its total runtime of 2 weeks and 1 day, is only 16GB on my phone.
Go shill your cloud shit elsewhere.
>pay for music once
>pay for data to download the music
In what reality does continuously paying a mobile data rate to listen to music you already paid to download make sense?
The reason Google doesn't put microsd expansion on their phones is so that people like you learn to live with the cloud. You don't even realize you're paying multiple times to listen to the same mp3 file, do you?
>none of the stock Androids come with accessible microsd
Moto G is currently what I'm using, fairly stock with micro SD.
>You get 20,000 songs for free idiot.
Can't wait to upload 150GB worth of music just so I can download it over and over when I want to listen instead of having it stored locally. Epic plan for the win dude!
>Enjoy your shitty little card because you're too poor for gold service and can't stream it.
Let me guess, you bought a 16GB phone like a dumb cuck?
I was in the same boat too. However I made the jump and it was as well worth the full price. My fiance has a edge plus and I see TouchWiz fuck her shit up all the time. When I'm chilling fast as fuck on stock marshmallow. However I recently decided to use Chroma ROM and ElementalX kernel. This phone fucking poops on anything you throw it.
Fuck no removable battery.. It charges to full in like 45 minutes. Also only fucking idiots truly need alot of storage. If you need more than 64gb you shoe probably use a fucking computer instead of a god damn phone.
You fucking pleb, you were doing good until that last sentence.
I don't care what anyone says, I will never go without my entire music library in my pocket. And as long as phones with microsd exist, they will be what I choose.
tl:dr I would rather suffer through Touchwiz if it means not having to use cloud bullshit
op here i cant deal with this potato resolution much longer its gonna be either this nexus the note 5 or the z5 premium
pic related is current resolution stretched over a 5.7 inch screen
>he can't tell it streams at 128kbps
>he thinks downloading something over and over is an efficient use of his cell network
Retards like you are the reason phone plans are so expensive now. Literally go gargle razor blades you autist.
Jeebus OP, this thread went to shit in a hurry, didn't it.
My vote: yes, get it. I have the 128 GB (mainly for movies, I'm not getting into the middle of the 12 year old's dispute over music on the this thread) Aluminum colored 6P.
Great build quality, quick charging, Marshmallow is smooth as glass, and the fingerprint reader is amazing. Yes, we're a few months away from the next flagship, but we're ALWAYS a few months away from the new flagship in the smartphone world. It's a great device that will be upper tier for the next couple years.
>paying an extra $200
You're not factoring in how much a 128gb micro sd card costs though. Baka.
