Old thread is kill.
Does anyone know of any 240mm radiators that are less than 270mm long?
I miss the good old days.
Sandy Bridge sucked. Everything went down hill from there. I miss my i7-980X. Guts may look better now, but it is all a scam. Only now that there are 8 core Extreme editions is there a reason to upgrade over socket 1366.
I think you guys know a thing or two about computers, so I'm going to ask here.
My CPU cooler (Zalman CNPS10X Extreme) makes short squeaking noises at about 50 BPM when it's at low idle speed, sounds like a very loud clock ticking.
How can I fix it without getting a new fan? Like, lube it up or something?
Just finished it last summer. How well did I make you cream your pants?
[flip phone camera still legit]
Might order the new GPU this week. New case should be arriving soon.
Fury x is a pain to find a good place to put the rad.
Rate if you would like. Need to take another new picture found the I/o sheild and installed it.
What a fucking housefire. It really pains me to see shit like this. GPUs throttle themselves the moment you start your computer because there's no way they can get enough cooling air without some pressured air blowing at them.
lrn2 cable manage. May as well put a bowl at the bottom for the spaghetti.
a little pooey for my taste, but nice and clean
always liked your build, but you should try sewing some fishing line through the cable sleeves instead of cable ties
>Windows 7 Ready!
that guy you gave a 6/10 probably has the cleanest build out of all the ones you listed, but a god awful 2002 camera phone...
Pictured is old blue.
There may never again be such a beautiful mobo.
>Ugly, no color matching.
>Displaying shameful HDD.
>Hyper 212 meme
>Shitty PSU cables.
>Sweet looking, but ultimately booger level motherboard.
>Can't see it, but it is probably a meme graphics card too.
You please me with your nothing but rookie mistakes
I agree. I have tubing that tucks away like cables. I get a 9/10. Thanks.
You should have bought this:
All of Thermalright's $50 and below coolers are a great value. Even when they're are not compared to meme products.
Not knowing how to turn down fan rpm
I'm pretty happy with the 212. I can overclock my CPU to 4.5 GHz with fair temps and i mostly use my computer for college and some gaming on the side but thanks for the reference. I'll definitely consider that heatsink for any future builds, for myself or anyone.
Pic relevant to post
Probably not the case with new CM fans, but there used to be a big disparity between how loud their fans were at the same rpm as other better manufacturers' fans. Noctua's pressure optimized fans are famous for doing at 800rpm what Corsair's can only do at 1100rpm. However, it is minimal and only weirdos like Sebastian care.
Half of these pictures of guts are from builds dudes have done on ocn.net (one of Lowfat's lian li builds, also one of the EK vulture case competition builds) what a fucking pleb, samefagging the thread and claiming someone else's build is yours.
It's one guy posting pics off of google. OP, one other water cooled build before, and one after your post do not make me immediately suspicious as to it's origin.
you can only post in this thread ---if--- your GPU doesnt sag
Don't talk to me about gpu sag. You should see the card after 3 years of heat. This was when it was new.
I don't think these people are claiming to own those awesome guts. They're either looking for that result or as an example. The Lian li orange thing is just the image with no text.
I don't really care if they're claiming to own them or not. If I wanted to see pictures pulled from google, I'd be on google. I'm on /g/ because I want to see what people have built themselves.
gay star wars logo man
I like the black dominators, should I do that to mine? I have light bars for all that I just haven't installed.
rout cables behind or try to hide and it's fine
nice fans lads
from another era, but great
I guess I don't have much room to talk, but I'm guessing this is your first PC since you went for the red and black theme, complete with all Corsair fans. It would be fine if they were good fans, but they're not. They're too loud for the amount of air they push. BeQuiet and Fractal offer better fans for the price.
If I could do my build over again, I would have gotten the NH-D15 instead of the H100i, maybe some cheaper memory in less capacity as well. GPU has been pretty good. The motherboard is pretty nice but I probably would have been just as happy with a workstation grade motherboard or just a $100 Z-87.
I don't regret the Noctua fans, even if they're the biggest meme in my PC. I do regret putting the Noctua badge on my pump.
Don't get meme'd, lads.
IT'S WEEBSHIT AND 90s AESTHETIC TIME YO
>your computer will never be this 90s on the outside
mien 6970 broski
As an X58 owner in part, I can certainly say you have a good point-- but the 1366 chips also had a lot of crap wrong with them on the silicon. have you ever looked at the errata for the Xeon 5600 series?
there's solutions to sag in cases that don't look all too bad-- the most prevalent I've seen people do, aside from zipties to somewhere up top (which is stupid because zipties stretch with age under that sort of stress) is to use an adjustable rod sort of thing to prop it up in the one corner. I'm thinking about that if I keep the 6970 in my box here for the long haul, because there's no other easy way to keep the card from sagging slightly in the little amount of space I have. there is less than a centimeter or so between the card's end and the drive cage in my case here. there's a reason why the only 2.5" drive in an adapter lives there by it-- the drive is heatsinked to the adapter (so it doesn't get above ambient really ever), and because it mounts deeper inside the cage instead of the very end like everything else, so it just fits.
just can't fix the slight sag for the time being.
I made the right choice in going workstation-grade for my other build. what I made the mistake in was thinking a couple of dual-core Opterons from 2006 were going to last me until 2020.
I was wrong. oh, was I wrong.
and a pic of the other one for >>52645250
sans RAID card because nForce is a bitch and that board doesn't like OpROMs from SATA cards ever, be it PCI or PCI-E.
seriously going to chuck that X58 board I have on the shelf into that case one of these days, I swear.
Lots of people posting rigs that aren't theirs. Pretty nonetheless.
Actually my gpu temps dropped down by 2-4°C by flipping the case upside down for god knows what reason
it is mine though you damn goober. thanks though.
