On ebay I'm seeing them for around $150-$300 AUD, but any SIP hardware phone will work.

The interface is a little unintuitive at first (too used to android full gui by now) but once you learn it it's pretty easy. Took me fucking hours to figure out how to get it all configured but here's your free guide.

You'll need:
- A router you can open ports on
- A SIP hardware phone
- Somewhere to host some XML files on the net (a free heroku will do. I'm hosting mine as media files on a wordpress blog)

Connect the phone to your WiFi or via internet, give it a static address and forward port 5060 to it (pretty sure it's UDP but I just opened both), you'll need this later for when your SIP provider routes calls to you.

Find a telephony provider that supports SIP registration. After searching for a bit I got mine from a company called Plivo (I wanted to use Twilio but although they have SIP trunking they don't have SIP registration, that is, your phone cant connect to them to get a SIP address, only receive calls from them once it has one).

Buy a number from them and assign it to the demo "Direct Dial" application. This will let you call out when you dial numbers. The demo just contacts their heroku app which returns an XML file that just has a <Route> command in it.

Create an endpoint in their dashboard, assign it to your new phone number. Assign it to the same Direct Dial application, but we will be changing this later. Once you make it you'll see your new SIP URI listed below it, looks like

I don't use this on my number obviously but it's an example to show you that you can use their API to do some cool fucking shit.

Upload this xml file somewhere you can access publicly over the net.

Create a new application on their site called "Dial in", and point the "Answer URL" to your XML file. Update it and set your previously created endpoint to use the dial in app now.

Cool, so now the cloud is all configured. On your endpoint copy your username.

Open your phones control panel at http://the.phones.ip.address, click on "Admin dashboard" in the top right, and select "Ext 1". You'll note you have 5 Exts, you can set up your phone to be able to dial from and receive from up to five different phone numbers (I have another one in america for business reasons).

Under "Subscriber information" enter:
Display name: Your actual plivo username
User ID: the username you got from the endpoint page
Password: You set this when creating an endpoint, if not it's just your plivo account password
Auth ID: The same username you got from the endpoint page

Save it, congrats your phone is now wired to send and receive calls through VoIP. It's dirt fucking cheap, I'm cancelling my landline, this is literally a dollar or two a month.

Once you pair your phone you can send and receive calls with that too. It's all very cool. Hope this helps anon.

I'm looking at IKEA Dioder for some biaslightning behind monitors but I'm a bit put off by the separate powerbrick and cable. Antec has LEDs that can run off the monitor's USB but they're only white and not RGB.
