Has there ever been a better set of speakers ever made? i have had my logitechs for almost 9 years now and they are still running like new
There's plenty of better ones but Logitechs, despite /g/'s autistic opinion, are great.
Logitech also has GOAT customer service, so even if your stuff is 8 years out of warranty, they will hook you up if it goes bad.
Í've had the exact same set for years before I upgraded to rokit 5's, which was a huge improvement, then I upgraded to adam A7X's and that was an even better investment and the best sound i've ever had
Bought these for cheap on ebay in 2005 and they're still kicking. Strictly pc speakers though, I go Onkyo for the living room.
Besides loudness, monitors will give you noticeably more accurate audio reproduction. I tested a range of "computer" speakers including Logitechs in the same price range. I bought my current monitors because hearing them next to any of those was like night and day at even low to mid volume. Build quality wise, they seem much sturdier but that may be subjective. I can guarantee the internals will last much longer though.
Logitech makes some okay stuff. I bought the z-506 for around $60 almost a year ago.
Still works flawlessly and sounds great.
My only complaint is that the sub is a little weak. But, I have sound blaster cinema, so I was able to set the gain a little bit higher.
I couldn't find a better picture, but I've had these Yamaha speakers for years and they still sound amazing.
YSTMS35D if anyone is interested.
It really isn't. I have the same setup and I agree with you on the fact that they last forever, mine are about as old as yours. But they are not good in any way and I'm honestly tempted to just replace them with some 2.0 setup because subwoofer is annoying as fuck, takes space, doesn't really do much if anything and when i want to actually listen to music I use headphones.
It's good setup if you are a middle schooler blasting garbage music at full volume to make your neighbor life miserable, otherwise not so much.
Klipsch ProMedia 2.1
waht do yall think of these
is there anything better i could get for around $150?
This Logitech set is one of the models I looked at ~10 years ago before deciding on the Altec Lansing FX6021 speakers. I'm very happy with the fx6021 and I hope they last for a while longer. Happy to hear the Logitechs are good too.
150 is bit high friend got it for 110 on sale for that price no you can beat them. For 150 is moot point, because you can get decent 3 inch monitors for 75 and 10 inch sub for another 100. An they be legues better than klips because they have amp for every speaker and not rely on some cheepo D class amp for the satelites.
Got the t7700 10 years ago, for 80$ new.
70W per satellite.
A lot more power than the Logitech Z5500.
I've got an old set of Bose Cinemates hooked up because they use standard auxiliary to plug in, they're fucking great. Insanely clear sound, sub is phenomenal, and best of all they were free.
>tfw stopped using PC speaker kits and went from Creative S750 to these with the Zensor Sub.
PC speaker kits no more.
for something you can walk into best buy and take home, they're great. I love mine.
you can do better for the money, sure, but they're still better than anything logitech.
anybody here use DFX audio enhancer? since i started using it i can't listen to music without it. i've got a cheap set of logitech 2.1's at work the z313 model and DFX makes them listenable.
Proper speakers are truly the way to go. Way better than anything Logitech.
allow me to interject and remind everyone that logitech speakers are low-tier in terms of audio quality and real speakers are superior to any logitech or plebeian meme monitor-speaker garbage when cost is not a issue
isn't it strange how plebeians have no idea how well mechanical speakers endure and sustain quality for decades, and are not aware that "old" speakers may be three to four magnitudes better in output quality than any of the mid-priced shit that is peddled by Magnolia in Best Buy
same guy, anyone like these?
Need proof that /g/ is full of brain dead retards? Just take a look at these posts
british-designed speakers that are cheaply made tend to sound harsh when driven with shitty underpowered amps and fed with garbage signal from a garbage preamp and source
well-made british speakers driven by superior amplifiers and modulated by superior preamps and fed with a high quality source tend to sound more refined and realistic than the usual blare of jbl garbage driven by shitty receiver-type amps purchased by plebes
Do not buy flaunce unless you can eq them with a powerful amp
thanks for your opinion
anybody got these. The price looks good considering they're Sony.
But wondering if they're worth it and not you get what you pay for.
two inch drivers are going to sound like ass no matter how many there are.
and the sub isn't making up for it.
This applies to basically all computer speakers ever made. 2" drivers with a 6" sub is just a shitty system regardless of how nice they look or how long they last
I used to own a pair of these. Pretty low sensitivity, but good for filling out the last two channels on your surround sound if you aboslutely need it. For $50, I'm neutral on them.
I've been using these for about 10 years and they've been switched on the whole time
granted they aren't designed to be computer speakers, and they're disgustingly overpowered for a computer workstation setting.
all these anons are so impressed that cheapo computer speakers last a long time.
This shouldn't be surprising. these things hardly move any air at all. they put virtually zero stress on their cabinets, and a lot of times the cones aren't even flexible, they're like metal or hard plastic. more likely hard plastic painted to look like metal
if you have craigslist in your area and post your budget, i can find a few picks for you
since im waiting for a video to finish rendering
people seldom listen to speakers much less examine speakers before they buy them to see how much the midrange or bass drivers actually travel
My Altec Lansing are almost 13 years old, and to this day they fucking rock.(atp3-3)
I've got a similar set of Altec Lansings and those downfiring woofers are fucking garbage, I've had to put out an amber alert in hopes that some blessed soul will find my missing mids.
Man, I bought these and then moved house a few months later. Didn't really have room for 7.1 any more so I cut out the two rear speakers. Kind of a waste really, probably could have just bought a better set of 2.1 speakers
1. the electronics are about 10 years old or more
2. the "speakers" are okay but not great, but
3. its not that expensive for the electronics if they are in good condition
as other anon said theres no real pic but you could ask for a few through email
the receiver is about $75 on ebay
its an okay system
ty for the feedback
I will keep my search else where
