Just get GMail, bro. They literally scan your e-mails for you. Wait, wait, don't laugh! There IS a benefit to having all of your e-mails read by Google! If you mention the word "resume" in your e-mail, and happen to forget to attach it, Google will fucking remind you, as you hit "Send". Wwwhhhoooaaa!!!

A little privacy violation now and then is totally worth it :)

Gmail if you would like simplicity and options

Outlook if you just want Email. No themes, special features

Yahoo! Mail if you want themes (does not integrate well)

Try yandex.

I have a small business and use yandex with my custom domain For that professional look. I still redirect everything to my gmail account though but yandex hasn't failed me yet.

Don't try Zoho, though, their emails get sent to spam in Microsoft mails (outlook or hotmail)

GMail will link you to a Google Plus profile and everyone who knows your name will be able to search you and see your profile.

Use an email provider that doesn't cuck you with unwanted shit, for example Mail.ru or Yandex.com (I recommend this one).
>>
>>52570383

Use Gmail.

Most people hiring you will not think anything of it because it is common, it doesn't date you like Hotmail/Yahoo/Live will.

Outlook may be a recognized name for users, but as a domain name it isn't as ubiquitous as gmail.

If you know that it is a woman doing the selection.. go with icloud.
>>
[email protected]
>>
Originally we hosted clients emails on our AWS instance but after we picked up ten or so businesses the time and cost involved was too great.

Now we simply charge a markup on the $10/per person each month and host using Google's business email. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a cheap, somewhat secure option that supports custom domains with minimal work required.

as someone who makes hiring decisions at a startup, if I see a candidate use something like protonmail.com or tutanota.de or any other form of encrypted mail - it's always a plus in my eyes - means they are technology aware. (this is similar to are you dressed well - not that important - but can make a positive impression)

don't do raw gpg key encryption though if you are mailing non-tech teams. they will have no idea what to do and your emails wont get read.

Of the two, gmail's a little more professional, but own domain is far more so if it's properly run.

I have 3 initials, and I use <initials>@<initials>.io for professional correspondence - that worked out OK.

I have a protonmail somewhere.

I have a <pseudonym>@<pseudonym>.com for some personal stuff, like most of my game logins and so forth, and a bunch of other older ones.
>>

To those using their own domain: I have my VPS all set up for my personal domain, and I could install a mailserver easily enough. Is that actually a good idea, though? Do I risk missing mail/getting sent to spam? Should I be using third party mailservers?

What's better? firstname.nu or firstname.one

I don't like how .nu is from an Island with 1000 people that can be wiped off the map at any time. Plus they ask for an ID number.
But .one is from a shitty hosting company that can be wiped off the map at any time.
>>
Outlook so you can actually get a decent fucking address
>>
>>52570383
do you have an iPhone or Android?
Android go with Gmail
iPhone, you can use either but also icloud.
Gmail doenst seamlessly integrate into iOS the way it does in Android. I will work, but not be ideal(no push, only fetch etc)
Outlook.com will integrate a little better since it uses EAS you get push, but EAS doenst allow custom contact fields so that can limiting.
iCloud is of course fully native to the platform which has its benefits. However, as a service, iCloud mail is the most barebones. Some people like that, others do not.
>>
>>52581816
Yeah, but if you ever stop using an account someone else will register it. With your old accounts attached to it.
>>

Recycling email addresses. Gmail doesn't do that. Microsoft does.
>>
>>52582401
I actually think that's a good thing
I just read an article and it says they delete all of your data when they recycle an account, so what's the problem?
If you aren't using it someone else can take it, gmail should follow that considering every fucking address possible is taken

Use mail.com.
They have a bunch of addresses (like @engineer.com, @linuxmail.net, etc) and you can add e-mail aliases once you create your main account.
The main attraction for me is that you don't need an alternative e-mail, AND you DO NOT need to provide any sort of real identification (phone, address, zipcode, etc). Remember to save your Customer # somewhere in case you have to recover your account.
