I was genuinely entertained by this movie. Any more?
I liked Steve Jobs a lot. It didn't circle jerk Steve or pretend he was such a visionary. Just a businessman who knew how to sell and an asshole. He wasn't right about everything but was right about a few things. The one before this was cheesy circlejerk bullshit.
>Btw who do you think will play Bill Gates in the inevitable biopic?
I don't know, but I'm pissed that Bill Gates is still alive.
I wish he died at his most badass phase. It would make an amazing movie.
I sort of liked Jobs.
It tried to portray him as a bastard, ditching the guys from the start and cheating and stuff, and also ripping Woz off (at the start with the Amiga thing).
They left out some of the more important stuff though, about how he basically turned the Macintosh team against the Liza team and endorsed a work culture that had engineers slaving away to the point where several of them started doing drugs in order to cope. And they also failed to catch the hacker-culture thing, "stick it to the man (aka blue suits)" and stuff like that.
I also disliked the way they portrayed Woz. He was a minor character and portrayed as severely submissive. He's not like that at all IRL.
Are you fucking retarded.
Welcome newfriend make sure you read the wiki there is a whole section dedicated to technology related movies.
Fuck it,I bet you cant even use google.
Here you go you retarded dumb shit im sick of it,fucking mods should do their job.
>>Pirates of Silicon Valley
I downloaded it, and I'm already bored.
1999 pacing is so painful.
social network and pirates of silicon valley don't even deserve to be on the same page.
David Fincher is on another level.
I don't understand why everyone hates the social network
I mean, it is the only hollywood movie that has depicted a shifty jew the blind goy that follows him as they really are.
I mean, of course that guy from NSync is pretty cringeworthy and having a full-blown jew nose forced in your face every other close-up scene is pretty vulgar, but still. ..
Nice defense mechanism for shitty movies, bro ;)
The pacing legitimately sucks. It's like every scene was made separately and glued together with voice-overs. You're constantly thinking "This scene already made its point, so let's move on. No need to linger over redundant exposition"
It really makes you appreciate good filmmaking. It's definitely an art.
Dont forget that he really was gay.
Died from cancer for sure but as a complication of AIDS.
The blood work results were floating around the web few weeks back you can look them up.
>good film making
>only watches recent films
I guess you hate all of the classics too.
Why do you make up lies when the truth is so much more hilarious?
His hippie hollistic alternative world view made him refuse actual medical treatment and did some all-fruit diet stuff instead.
He didn't die of AIDS, he died of a illness that was completely treatable (pancreatic cancer) and he refused the treatment due to ignorance and stupidity.
>he died of a illness that was completely treatable (pancreatic cancer)
usually pancreatic cancer is terminal.
jobso had the luck to had one of the very few variants which are treatable. he refused proper medical treatment and instead relied on herbs, tea and mown grass.
too bad, so sad.
>jobso had the luck to had one of the very few variants which are treatable. he refused proper medical treatment and instead relied on herbs, tea and mown grass.
Okay, I was misinformed. But my point is still true though, he refused proper treatment and relied on some new-age hippie dippie stuff.
He was the Universal Genius of our time, like Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Aristotle, Einstein, Edison and Bell before Him!
We are truly blessed to have lived in His lifetime.
>Holy shit why are so movies are about Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs had admirable success despite his huge character flaws, u manchild.
It's cinema 101 and Steve Jobs was made for the biopic format.
That's why Bill Gates needs to turn evil again. Otherwise there won't be any biopics of him.
Except Leonardo da Vinci wasn't the only great mind of his time but the most marketed.
Tere were people better than him at every field he was involved in.
If you read a book of too on the subject not only popular articles and youtube science videos you would know.
Same goes for Einstein and so on.
Because once a name is mentioned enough times people remember it.
Thats how marketing works.
I will take Hawking as another example.
He is a joke A FUCKING RUNNING JOKE in the science circles but hey BBC,CNN and the rest of the media love him. They love him so much they cant stop mentioning him in popular culture or in every talk show.
Ignorance at its best.
It was entertaining although nothing not already covered. The acting was good but overall it felt more like a well done TV movie not something being nominated for Oscar's.
Jobs did a lot in his lifetime and compressing it to 2 hours is always going to end up with something missing a lot. If somebody wanted to do a serious look at his life a mini-series would make much more sense. That way they could capture each decade major decade of his life in far more detail.
>Tere were people better than him at every field he was involved in.
History only remembers the victor. And de Vinci wasn't just a nerd, he was also known for being a peak physical specimen who would bend horse shoes as a party trick
Thats the formula for success with mediocrity.(see andy warhol)
Da Vinci worked for one of the most rich motherfuckers in that time and he created "fun" for him and his guest. He was the court party manager and joker his job was to entertain. He was good at his job but people remember him for his science which if you ask people they cant tell what specifically did he accomplished.
He got to hang out with aristocracy and that the key in his whole story.
>inb4 mona lisa
Bronzino is a great example of how great painters dont make it all the time.
Dennis Ritchie was way more important than Jobso, and without him Jobso would probably have been yoga-mat-seller or something.
Do any people outside the computer-stuffs know Ritchie? Fuck no.
That's how it is, accept it.
>jobs was an asshole that berated every person that crossed his path
>woz was and still is a panzy that never stood up for himself (as portrayed in the movie, that never happened)
>don't even know who that woman was (meaning she is/was irrelevant)
>scully was a pussy period (he and jobs never got along that well before or after all the bullshit)
It's a work of fiction and the only non-fiction aspects were the names of the characters and the fact that it was about Apple.
Not a good movie, at all.
How many Steve Jobs movies do there need to be?
Bill Gates now spends a majority of his time and mental energy trying to solve world problems. That's pretty great. He might still not be a nice person, but he's doing a nice thing for the world.
>bill gates eradicated polio
The shilling literally never ends
>pushing for vaccine programs = inventing the vaccine in the first place
The difference between anti-vaxxers in pakistan is that the CIA was actually busted using a vaccination program to infiltrate Taliban (aka the tinfoil was real), whereas anti-vaxxers in the western world are just soccer moms that are more afraid of gluten than smallpox.
It was hilarious
Because he's a jew. If you pay attention to the American film industry, you will always find a jew behind a film. Usually as the director, but if not, then as a producer. The prevalence percentage is always 100. Jews hire jews, it's that simple. The film industry is a giant jew monster that doesn't let in anyone who isn't a jew. Without jewish heritage you have no place in the film industry. Even the Italian-Americans have jewish roots, that's why were allowed to make movies.
Because of the jewish nature of American mainstream filmmaking, almost every movie with a good idea is ruined by monetization. You always get these sub-par endings because they think shitty happy endings appeal to normies.
>worst acting ever
Yea, I'm not sure everyone thought Ashton Kutcher was "spot-on". He seems like he's gonna break out of character any second.
Fassbender was a far more natural actor.
My advice is to skip the 2013 movie entirely.
One day I'm going to kill everyone who mentions this piece of garbage.
>insulting me like that
Don't you have any shame?
I just realized Pirates of the Silicon Valley was a made-for-tv piece. No wonder the pacing sucks.
Is this better than the Kutcher version? Cause that one was boring as fuck, I couldn't even make it to the half way point before turning it off.
Not a movie, but Silicon Valley (tv show) is one of the best comedies on television right now.
Depends on how you define better I guess.
It mostly covers Steve's relationship (or lack of) with his daughter along with him building the Lisa, getting fired and coming back. Also arguing with Seth Rogan regarding acknowledging the Apple II team for their work.
Whenever someone starts talking about sci fi movies I always end up tracking down, what at the time often appears to be, obscure titles. I'm embarrassed to admit that I found that jewel because of rose and I've always wondered how many anans who talk about it here were likewise inspired.
Jesus wept anon. Sandra bullock fake typing her way through an absolute shit show. They even put a crt in her fireplace with a screen saver of a fire because that's what programmers did in the 90s
are there any reliable sites where i can just stream movies?
Also, the Firefox orange bar accesses the menu bar a lot better anyway. Much more cohesive.
You're shitting on Firefox's best UI addition in a while. You should be ashamed.
