>live in canada
>everything costs 2x more in canada than they do in america
>phones, graphics cards, everything
Why even go on living?
Exactly the same in Australia, our currencies are literally worth the same in USD, and we both have the same economic problems - in that our economies are way too dependent on mining
>live in China
>computer components are all cheap as shit
>really want to build myself a bitching desktop for fuck all money
>won't be able to leave it in my apartment because no guarantees I'll be back here next year
>can't take it home with me because it would be too big and heavy to take on a plane
life is suffering
Taxation is pretty similar between the USA and Canada, Canada is even arguably slightly better for the poor
I bet you voted for trudeau too. You fucking liberal faggot.
Looks like he isn't legalizing weed after all. Blaze in hell for being stupid enough to elect someone that made our exchange rate drop to 0.68 US
The strength of the US currency is fucking up everyone else's currency, not your own country. Like I posted earlier, Aus and NZ are in the same boat. The Australian Dollar used to be worth $1.10 USD, now it's worth $0.68USD
Born in Canada, spent half my life there, moved to the US 2 years ago
Still can't understand what I was doing in Canada all this while.
>Pay twice as much
>Next to no jobs compared to the US
>NO FREE HEALTHCARE
>Self righteous people
>build pc in china
>turn it on for the first time
>open it to to see what's wrong
>realize that my CPU is Lntel brand
>buy another and make sure it's legit this time
>power it on
>almost instantly my pc explodes into a giant fireball and violently hurls metal case shrapnel, gaming leds, and shattered hard drive fragments everywhere
>get burned and impaled
posting from the hospital
Have fun being in debt for the rest of your life if you ever get injured. Oh, and don't pull into a stranger's driveway or you'll get shot since everyone and their mother has a gun.
>implying the taxes paid make for good fast healthcare and isn't sponged off
>medical infrastructure is falling apart
>long waiting times
No such thing as a free lunch.
>M-MUH FREE HEALTHCARE
our medical system is fucking falling apart, you dunces, have fun waiting 5 hours in the emergency room because senior citizen abigail and all her elderly friends have a cold, got there before you, and there's no doctors
You guys have 5 times lower gun-related deaths per capita than the USA, hardly 'fuck all'
>senior citizen abigail and all her elderly friends have a cold, got there before you, and there's no doctors
>I have no idea what triage is
>You guys have 5 times lower gun-related deaths per capita than the USA, hardly 'fuck all'
That's what happens when you have the population levels of California spread across the border, from sea to shining sea. That's Canada for you. The entire country could fit in one state.
You have never been to the states. Look at the word UNITED STATES. States. There's more than one, which is why you get varying degrees of state laws or laws that are paying only lip service to federal law.
Each state should be treated as a separate country but the feds have different plans and this hasn't been true since the war of northern aggression/the civil war.
Always with the excuses. You can keep at it or you can realize that you'd have to make one for every first world country in the world.
Oh btw, most of the gun related violence happen in dense populated areas independent of the country and Canadian cities aren't less densely populated than most of the cities the shootings take place.
You can even track your own country's statistics and see that states with higher guns per capita will have more shootings. But don't let any of that logic get in your way, just keep making excuses.
If you ever read anything you'd realize all the states would weaken if they weren't united which is what the fucking united states is all about. Every fucking country has different tiers of government. The US is nothing special in that regard. You think that Canada isn't named the United provinces and territories of Canada that the provinces and territories don't have a lot of local power?
That is because you guys only have a handful of blacks & hispanics. White & Asian Americans have pretty much the same violent crime rates as Canadians. Worldwide ethnicity in general is a much better predictor of crime rates than specific laws, or even income levels.
Fucking ay. Our dollar is worth shit right now that is why everything is so fucking expensive. My friend literally just bought a computer with an i5 4460 + r9 380x for 1250$. He couldn't wait and he's rich so it doesn't matter but still it was pretty fucking ridiculous.
Were going into a recession so everything is really fucked. Not to mention I live in 1 of the most expensive places in the world to live (Vancouver) being poor right now is really really bad.
It was good a couple of years ago when the dollar was even with the US and life was pretty good as everything was the same price pretty much. Now it's gone to shit and our new PM probably won't make it any better either.
Also >muh free healthcare. I once thought it was great when I was young. Now that i'm old i MUCH rather pay for my own healthcare so i don't have to wait in line for hours AND you can get results faster if you pay. Can't do that in canada you have to wait a couple of days. Fucking shits. Although the good thing is big surgeries probably won't cost as much so thats a plus..
>Can't do that in canada you have to wait a couple of days.
You can't buy private cover in Canada? There's a public and private system running side-by-side in Australia. You just buy private cover if you don't want to wait in queues.
You want it to be good, get the manufacturing and factory jobs back while putting up with the low pay and union trolls. A country that relies heavily on natural resources for income is very vulnerable.
>drools over third world gun laws
How's that just fight against terrorism going?
Won't matter if yankies suck the planet dry out of data, they'll be still busy killing each other.
Freedom, justice and liberty, enjoy your amendments.
Most people in the city don't have firearms, and the same private property laws don't apply in town. You'll only get shot if you pull up on someone way out in the sticks' driveway unannounced, and considering those driveways are usually 1/4 mile or longer, it's your own dumbass fault for trespassing then.
Ungodly debt for injury is true, though.
Yeah, but people are friendlier to each other when there are less people. Look up crime rates between high population density areas and small towns.
>Toronto is literally the 4th biggest city on the NA continent
Having lived in Toronto and seeing it through the rushed amalgamation that combined several cities together, Toronto is a shithole.
>You'll only get shot if you pull up on someone way out in the sticks' driveway unannounced, and considering those driveways are usually 1/4 mile or longer, it's your own dumbass fault for trespassing then.
Not GP, and I'm a civil libertarian ("pro gun"), but bull fucking shit.
Don't be the wrong color and knock on the wrong door.
You know nothing of suffering.
USD 1 = RUB 89.4183895636
Private cover doesn't exist because they feel it will make doctors go private thus limiting the small pool. The issue with Canada is residency requirements for new doctors, as well as the number they admit. It is so bad people training to be doctors fuck off and never come back because they weren't able to become an MD here.
Weird, in Australia all doctors are obliged to accept a certain number of public patients, alongside any private ones they might want to see and all or at least almost all GPs are public-only, so that problem is solved.
There's nothing pleasant about being prohibited from owning a glorious FN FAL.
Dentists are private as are cosmedic surgeons mind you, also certain specialists like ophthalmologists can make way more than 500k a year easily. Speaking of ophthalmologists when I mentioned the issue with the health system in this country is the lack of open spots for doctors I meant it, only 35 doctors a year can get ophthalmology residency country wide. Hence why no fucking sane med student graduates here, they fuck off to where they can get residency.
The good news however is unlike Australia if you are poor and batshit you can still afford to see a shrink as it is free. Only real issue with your medical system that I have seen.
Yeah I have no idea why dentists and mental health aren't automatically covered. Dentists in Aus charge an arm and a leg. Private health insurance covers two yearly checkups but god help you if you need anything more than a filling done.
Basic check ups from dentists and optometrists are not fully covered here either. But mental health crap is. Medically necessary procedures are covered though in dental and vision, and the disabled are covered (unless they need glasses and don't want the budget pedo glasses).
Mine cost a bit more then that even when our dollar was worth more than the USD. Haven't you learned no matter what the prices are not on par with the US. Not even if the CAD was $2 USD would it be lower.
Don't move to Spain, only worth is the public health but it's gonna disappear
I wanna move too and I'm stuck here because I can't study or work here
>33,636 gun deaths in 2013
>19,392 gun suicides in 2013
>can't find specific number for 2013, but average is over 600 accidental death shootings
There's basically about 13k actual gun violence cases there. There was an estimated total of 14,196 murders in the US, so the gun is the obvious weapon of choice for murder, but also no shit Sherlock.
Do research on total murder rates for anti-gun countries and see how it compares.
Did you even read the article? Guy yelled "Freeze" and he kept walking towards him. Might of been a language barrier, but that's a risk anyone takes when they go to a country where they don't understand the people. I mean if you were traveling and a guy with a gun pointed at you and stared saying some shit you didn't understand to you, would you approach him?
Also, there are people in Japan who will kill you for being the wrong color too.
Who's to say he wasn't one of them?
Id buy myself extra luggage and a hard case for the money left after building myself a bitching computer and would drive it around the world like a baws.
> inb4 hard cases and custom cut foam exists
The crime rates in cities with tighter gun control is usually worse than cities with lax gun control. That shit just doesn't work. The US is full of violent people hence the gun violence. Take away the guns and they'll just rob each other with knives or whatever else instead. It's a red herring.
I already knew canadians would try to boast about their shitty health care before opening this thread.
Theres not much intelligent life in canada so you can't expect much
You mean socialized healthcare
>trump not running for president
Canadian trump would be so based, he'd throw out the chinks and designated shitting streets. Instead we're stuck with some faggot cuck.
The Canadian dollar is in the tubes now.
But generally speaking, I don't notice prices being much higher in Canada once retailers have absorbed currency fluctuations. The main difference is you can't really dodge sales tax in Canada.
