Java appreciation thread
Java as a platform is an unfocused mess. It can do a little bit of everything, and nothing properly. You're always working against it instead of with it.
What about it? Portability? More platforms support a C compiler than the Java virtual machine.
It's this thing written in C++ by the Sun company (since taken over by Oracle). It's a 'virtual machine' that abstracts away most of the hardware details for the calling software, ie Java software. It's how portability to different hardware is achieved for Java.

You really don't know how portability works, do you? It's not an issue of whether the machine has a compiler or not, but rather how well the code works across different architectures.
Yeah go back to /pol/ you mental patient.
We the shitskins of Durtpooristan appreciate Java. We will use it to program our traffic lights in our designated shitting streets
