Not sure what private trackers are all about?
The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.
Check out the wiki and update it yourself if you want more instead of complaining like a fucking faggot. https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Private_trackers

Remember the following:
>staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before.
>staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers
>people may report emails and other personal info posted here to staff to get you banned.
>most of the invite offers here are people trolling you with false hope - begging for invites is a waste of time and you should just interview
Daily reminder that if you got an external USB drive it is a ticking time bomb unless you disable their automatic head-parking feature.
Easiest way to turn it off?
I have a netbook running a 250GB Hitachi 5400rpm 2.5" drive for seeding small files. I hope the OS (debian) isn't doing anything to decrease the hdd life.
I have a 3 year old AB account with a good ratio (2.0). Are there any (non-anime) movie or TV show trackers I'd be able to gain entry to with this on my belt?
Forgive my ignorance, never been particularly big into this /ptg/ thing.
I thought you guys were kidding about OT being shit.
>tfw the anon who said he would snatch Aesthetic Footjob megapack from EMP never delivered
>people legitimately worried about global ban lists and trying their hardest to figure out who shares info with who
None of that matters at all if you don't cheat or disrespect us in any way. I'm staff at one of the cabal trackers, I know.
>I missed it
Just fucking end me already.
Is there a tracker dedicated to VNs or is animebytes the king in that regard?
You should get to CG first. It has more torrents in "horror" and "gore" categories than THC has overall. Then, if you'll level up fast you'll be able to join THC from CG, thier only requirement is a 1 month old account.
When will Bib be back up? I wanna get /cosy/.
Probably something /comfy/ like Murakami.
Unless the encode is filtered to remove banding, or a hybrid of multiple sources.
Also there's a reason p2p internals aim for transparency. You'll literally really struggle to notice a difference. So to put it another way, it's possible for a big increase in quality over a source in one way, whilst losing effectively no quality in another.
Until bluray mastering shits get their shit together, it is going to continue to be an issue. You can just check comparison of any recent movie, it is still bad. Banding is still an issue, blacks arent proper blacks. Different regions do different things right.
No ETA as yet. Sierra said the freeleech event should still be in place for a short time after the re-re-launch but if it isn't he'll announce the situation before the site returns.
Keep telling yourself that.
Who here is /torrentingonanuc/?
Best $130 I have ever spent. Sits next to my router via ethernet, cool and quiet, torrenting 24/7.
Thanks. How will that help?
I got in 2 days ago, and I can't keep my PC on all day because it's in my bedroom and I won't be able to sleep.
I'm keeping my required at 0.00 up to that but I'm really worried about what happens then.
I was banned from downloading on animebytes for h&rs, how can I restore my priveleges? I have account long enough, but I was using shitty internet. Now I have stable 100 mbit in both sides and want to fix that crap.
What 2 do?
>I'm keeping my required at 0.00 up to that but I'm really worried about what happens then.
you should read Rules > Ratio anon. But you have 20GB to download as a new user. The trick is to keep those torrents in your client and keep seeding all the files you download when you can. That way, your required ratio will stay at 0 when you hit 20GB downloaded. After that, and when you have a bit of upload, you can download another 10GB (30GB total) and as long all downloaded files are still being seeded, your required ratio will be 0.05.
Check the table in Rules > Ratio.
not a nuc but i picked this thing up for $40 and its pretty nice
Thank you, I've seen the table.
I think I can manage 72 hours per week, but 0.05 of 20 GB is still 1 GB, and I don't know how I can reach that.
I've only downloaded a couple things.
Could I download as much as I want?
I don't have very unusual tastes, so I can usually find what I want on rutracker. Should I use that instead when I can?
>How will that help?
So the ratio system works by saying "this is your DL, this is your UP."No matter how much you have downloaded, if your UP is higher than your DL, your ratio will be higher. Basically, what we're doing is we're having you download much slower, giving you more time to upload and raise your ratio.
I had to do this for a while to get PU on BakaBT, back before I knew how to gain the system.
Just download 20GB of music that you want to listen to, and that you can't find on rutracker or elsewhere. Keep those files seeding so your required ratio stays at 0.
I don't know your connection speed, but as you'll be seeding 20GB of data and as your tastes aren't unusual, you might upload 1GB, you never know. If not, you can wait and keep seeding, consider uploading torrents or just hang around and wait for the next fl tokens or staff picks fl event.
I really don't understand the point of these.
You can't even attach HDDs to it. The most it can have is 4 attached to USB 3.0, but speeds would be terrible compared to internal, and lol at even considering externals for anything.
Get a real NAS for home seedbox or fuck off. You're an embarrassment.
This is what I find ridiculous on some trackers. You can download something and keep seeding forever, but it's never a warranty that you'll ever keep your ratio.
Why are some of them so elitist to not implement a token system for each hour with the torrent seeding?
This paired with a H&R system is literally perfect.
To encourage people to buy:
seedboxes - faster serving speeds costing the tracker $0. Maybe the trackers host seedboxing services and can profit off it.
music/other items - to encourage a bigger library so that the tracker becomes more famous/has more content and ranks up in the eyes of people so that more famous trackers recruit on their site. Also it increases the request filling rate (of things that are only available vai purchase/haven't been uploaded at other places) because desperate people will buy more so they can have the buffer to rank up or to download things they like
(on some trackers) to donate - so that the admins get money/funding directly.
But it's not better. In fact, it's much worse.
you have to be a special kind of potato if you use external drives for torrenting
438 that's nothing. Either it's really new, or really old - because old models didn't have the head park feature.
Or you've already hacked it.
Or the stars aligned for disk activity somehow.
build date is may 2015, using it since september 2015 as a desktop drive and ocassional 24hr seeding. Now have a dedicated netbook that is on 24/7 for seeding small stuff. I should put software on that which prevents head parking maybe.
Hi, due to unfortunate events with the AB staff I got banned. I have noticed that there is no other anime tracker besides AB, so I have decided to start my own tracker, if there are any devs willing to start another anime tracker with me hit me up in comfy irc, we will call it AnimeHD or something
except the 100 requests on what per day that are things that either (1) are not released yet, and won't be for a loooong time, or (2) things that don't exist, and will never. Don't understand why they don't just b& that. I like the way MAM forces you to submit an "availability" link...
Given the number of things that dont exists, but have been uploaded on what.cd. *cough*salinger*cough*. I dont see a problem.
I personally have spend ~ 8 TB on these requests. Every TB was worth it.
I heard a film critic say on the radio that he'd watched The Revenant DVD Screener and then watched it again at the cinema and the big screen increased his overall enjoyment of the movie.
fine. i guess you could be unlucky if the previous owner also used it for his ptp account, so you could send a staffpm or just note the ip on your profile page to be totally safe.
is there anything worthwhile past extreme user on BTN?
i don't have HDB and it seems to tough to go ptp/wcd route.
i have enough bonus points to get to everything but overlord so i'm just wondering if just getting scene releases will be worthwhile
>mfw I just found out the DIIV guy is a member of WCD and uploaded his new album himself
>when the recruiter repeatedly logs in but doesnt send you an invite
>when the recruiter responds with 10 minutes
pff that's only a thing for big sites like BTN cause Betrayed was getting hundred of requests.
If he wants an invite to a smaller place like AHD and the guy keeps logging on without sending a reply then he's been cucked.
Lots of peers (easy to maintain a ratio because people actually download things), decent internals, scenes are removed once the internal drops, easy to rank up to get invite forums
the fact that you can get around it by snatching porn (which is neutral leech) makes it kind of a joke
i mainly use ptp because better organization
i would like to say it's better than a-hd because of selection alone but i can't, a-hd is better organized, can't comment on internals because i'm not autistic
desu i kinda regret joining because it was a pain to level up (with no seedbox/autodl) and there's almost no official recruitment, all the threads in the invite forums are just members (not staff) offering what few invites they have
lol the wcd interview guys are so retarded. i've created three accounts in the last month and they still don't have a fucking clue. so easy to get multiple accounts at what. anyone know how much they sell for?
Library = good, internals = decent, retention = okay, surviving = okay. If you're not on top trackers (HDB, PTP), I'd recommend getting there. And even being on HDB and PTP, I use it fairly often, just like AHD.
I don't care tbqh. I download more than 15 GB each 3 months from there anyway, so this rule doesn't mean too much to me.
Never heard of HDT.
How come i can't find anything on downloading in the MTV wiki? I know it's ratioless but only because it said so in the recruitment thread.
Also, "Special Movie Rules":
>In terms of respecting quality ,we decided only a few P2P groups are allowed to be uploaded here. Here is the list :
>All Scene Groups are allowed.
I'm not even on any of the 'cabal' I'm only on what/AB/MaM and I'm also on MTV.
I've only downloaded one torrent from MTV because I'm afraid of copyright notices. To be completely honest, I don't even remember where I read they get notices but most likely it was from /ptg/ - I mentioned it once and another anon said I was correct to be afraid because members do receive notices.
so that's what I believe atm.
If you could guys could prove otherwise I would love that because then I would comfortable to download all of hannibal which tempts me everyday.
It's OK, you can get just about everything that is on cabal trackers quite easily, you just have to be prepared to look a bit more sometimes.
Source: Was on cabal, got a global ban so forced to revert to curry trackers for a while. Working my way back to cabal trackers though.
>I'm not even on any of the 'cabal' I'm only on what/AB/MaM and I'm also on MTV.
WCD is one of the cabal holy trinity, AB and MaM are believed to co-operate with them though aren't full members.
>I've only downloaded one torrent from MTV because I'm afraid of copyright notices. So basically you read it on /ptg/, with no evidence, and thus the meme self-inforces. Nobody got a notice from MTV, it doesn't happen. People are trying to suppress TV trackers that aren't BTN, don't allow them to.
>If you could guys could prove otherwise I would love that because then I would comfortable to download all of hannibal which tempts me everyday.
Why would you believe an unsubstantiated rumor and demand evidence that the converse is true?
Not had that exact situation but it is fucking easy to maintain multiple accounts, just read up on how to do it, all you need is to make sure that on their end they perceive you as two completely distinct users. I'd wager you could get away with it even if you had two distinct machines connecting from the same IP and claim one is your room mate.
>he read something someone said on /ptg/
>and just believed it
My impression is that for some what is part of cabal and half the time isn't part of cabal.
Yes, you are 100% I read on /ptg/ anon but like where else would I learn more about private trackers/get info/ I don't go to /r/trackers unless someone links it here bc I don't like the environment and I don't do IRC/Forums and sometimes anons here can be pretty helpful and for the most part it's been for my benefit the advice except for believing mtv members get notices.
>Why would you believe an unsubstantiated rumor and demand evidence that the converse is true?
You are again, correct. I recognize my folly.
Thank you for the chuckle.
I think it's funny that I'm pretty sure I was the first person to be asking which one concerning torrent groups on AB and now at least another anon is asking the same - also I love how anons are always helpful in these questions.
