Im looking for some must have/best anroid apps.
Everything is ok
Which makes up half of Project Fi.
Damn you're such a fucking shill in every fucking Thread. Same image same bullshit. Go back to Howard Forums where your applefanboyfuckass belongs
XposedFramework + modules of interest
a competent file manager of your choice.
this should keep you busy for a while.
Support your developers. Don't leave shit reviews just because you're stupid.
I find many reviewers don't take the time to RTFM, and come off like idiots.
I also find that, many app devs are responsive to suggestions if you aren't a dick about it. your mileage may vary.
Framaroot - for rooting.
SuperSU - installed with Framaroot
XPrivacy - for permissions.
BusyBox - required by some apps
AdAway - to block all ads in apps and websites
Advanced Download Manager
CheatDroid - for reading/modifying shared prefs
Folder Size Chart
F-Droid - store for open source apps
SetDNS - to set your favourite DNS
ZArchiver - to manage rar/zip etc
SSE - to encrypt files and folders
Firefox - with HTTPS Everywhere and Ghostery
GoKeyboard - like Swiftkey minus the keylogger
MX Player - for videos
Music Player - by JRT Studio
Photo Editor - by macgyver
YouTube - the botnet
Some games I like:
Moe Can Change
This is what I use, for Framaroot, Xposed and BusyBox you should read guides on XDA Forums, or watch guides on YT. There was an app called Manga Phoenix once in the app store but I think it was removed, it lets you read manga from batoto, if you need it.
I forgot Terminal Emulator app too and here is a guide for ricing if you didn't rice your phone yet.
oh I was searching an alternative to cheatdroid in facts, I liked it because it's easy to view and edit databases with it, I use it mostly to save account informations before reinstalling apps and put them back later, I'll try this one then since I never heard it before anyway.
>lagshit needs over 30 3rd party apps to be useful
If you have a snapdragon processor, http://caf.notphenom.com is the best browser.
Newpipe is the best youtube app unless you want to use youtube playlists.
Nova launcher is the best launcher.
Clover 2.0.0 is the best 4chan app. http://floens.github.io/Clover/#releases
Anyone know of a dhcp server for android? I have the piratebox app but the dnsmasq binary must be buggy because clients can connect to my phone but they get no ip address so they can't send any files or access the piratebox page.
anyone else manage to get piratebox working?
Android sucks 3ds is way better.
>got the same maki twice today
>this hot slut comes out
what do you guys use for a gallery? I used to love quickpic before it turned to garbage, i'm using A+ gallery right now but it feels 10 years old.
I hate google photos, unless there's some way to have the app start at folder view instead of the main album.
What else is there? paid apps included
doesn't have duckduckgo
looks like shit
constantly asking for access to my google acc
not any faster than Lightning Browser and the stock browser
Thanks but no thanks
Nova Launcher is a must if you want to compete in the homoscreen threads on this board
Clover best 4Chan app right now
Newpipe max res of 720p
I guess this is all pretty good if you can't enjoy the apps the play store offers
F-Droid for free as in freetard apps
Amaze file manager
Perfect Viewer (so-so interface, decent performance, rich format support)
Neutered Quickpic (find it on XDA, inb4 >XDA)
Games: 2048, Pixel Dungeon, Chess, Open Sudoku, emulators of old systems that respect your freedom
ccleaner has an android version. I have no personal experience with it but most "cleaner" apps are fucking placebo, or worse, a scam to steal your Taiwanese cartoon website login info.
It does in Firefox
The apk was removed from Play Store because Google is an advertising company
I havent charged my phone since 2 days ago and has been running Adguard 24/7, my battery is still at 23%
I use gallery kk
I specified 2.0.0 and linked to the releases because of that.
If you're rooted with adaway, there's no reason to use it. I have a phone which can't be rooted and this browser has ad block built in.
>not a single mention of Poweramp
What the fuck /g/
it really is a shame you can't play spotifys music with the music player of your choice. I'd use this magestic piece of software all the time.
Tell me /g/ is there any good music streaming service that does support other music players?
Challanger comics viewer for reading manga
hq images, infinite scrolling.
Play with the advanced options right after install
com.pcvirt.ImageViewer.apk it just werks, I like how the images are displayed in the gallery, no bloat and very smooth, perfect for shitposting with my collection of smug lolis.
no? depends what's your definition of rape, I use FF with Ghostery and HTTPS Everywhere, sometimes I use it 5-6 hours straight without problems, I never tested it for more hours though, is 6 hours good for you? if yes then it should be fine.
You should check the XDA Forums to know what method works for your device, or search on YT if there're any guides for it.
School Idol Festival.
The app doesn't absolute needs any of Google Services, I think. But I guess it tries using them without checking if they're available or not - it crashes just after using the menu a little.
Tried using the same apk in an Moto G with Play Store and it worked flawlessly.
I've it installed too and it requires the Google App Store to update itself, when there're big updates at least. Often it requires to update manually so it probably won't even install without Google Services, though you should disable root before updating because Root Cloak doesn't work with this app, the app automatically checks your phone for root and if it finds it then it will install a dummy update that actually breaks the app (orange screen of death), probably because the devs don't want you to use root to extract the audio tracks from the game files, or to cheat in game.
I actually managed to install it with RootCloak. That being said, you don't need it anymore, there are updated and patches APKs on the Internet that run flawlessly in rooted phones.
when I first installed the app I didn't have Root Cloak and SuperSU yet so I guess the first install doesn't cause troubles even with root, but when I tried updating a few months ago after installing both SuperSU and Root Cloak, I personally experienced the orange screen and the app wouldn't start no matter what I tried and even uninstalling supersu didn't fix the orange screen and I found a post on MAL forums that said it was because of root, I believe the updater fucked with the game files, but after completely uninstalling school idol, reinstalling and updating again, with SuperSU disabled, it worked just fine. Now I've Root Cloak enabled and it works well but I always turn SuperSU off just in case before any new updates that require to use the Google Apps store, I'd rather avoid that thing again, I almost lost my account if it weren't for CheatDroid (I used it to copy my account token and informations).
About the APKs from third parties sites or stores, I don't really trust them that much to be honest, the Love Live app is going to need the store again sooner or later anyway.
Some F-Droid/opensource apps:
AdAway (ad blocker)
Amaze (file manager)
Clover (9gag browser)
Financius (expense manager)
Flym (RSS reader)
Forecastie (weather forecast)
Gadgetbridge (MiBand/Pebble manager)
Lightning (best web browser)
OctoDroid (GitHub client)
Shattered Pixel Dungeon (awesome rougelike game)
Slide for Reddit (le'ddit)
Tasks (todo list)
Termux (terminal emulator with apt)
Timber (music player)
WebTube (nice YouTube wrapper)
Writely (simple notes editor)
Is there a good way to manage notifications on android?
It comes with a single setting: priority hours but I need something more.
Is there a way to reliably configure these things?
Like I want my phone to be on vibrate but no sound every tuesday between 8 and 12 and only let people on a whitelist to make sounds during the night, stuff like that...
What do you guys do for stuff like this?
manually adjusting the volume all the time?
Why are all freetard music players so terrible at detecting file info and especially album art?
I'd rather use Apollo or Timber instead of players like Poweramp but it's a huge deal breaker.
There's a list of compatible devices here:
Though I see only Nexus 4. Trying it shouldn't cause too many issues anyway, it tells you if it works and if it doesn't it tells you what the problem is. If you wanna be safe, make a disk dump of your system to restore it later just in case.
Why RealCalc instead of this?
Do you guys really find all of these weird apps necessary? Like most of the apps listed here look like they'd be useful maybe once every 2 or so years.
Here's my list which will probably get shit on:
>looks nice as a widget, syncs with other devices, use if you need to keep track of your appointments and shit
>I use it as a widget w/ my "to-do list" tagged notes so I know specific things to do every day, also useful for reminders that don't need their own Calendar time and date, syncs with other devices
>for torrenting books mostly, I don't torrent music because...
>huge selection, high quality, I got a 3 months free deal on New Years Eve, and I'll probably start paying for it soon after because of how convenient it is- no wait time at all when you want to listen to a new song, album, etc
>pre-Botnet version, loads faster than default gallery and gives you the option to hide folders
>keep track of your weightlifting sessions
>statistically better sleep, even Apple is going to start doing this
>fast, built in ad blocker
you're good brah.
the 'weird' apps are just personal preference stuff and tools for power-users.
most root users will have privacy/security/hacking/networking apps. Each of us makes Android or own.
'Mobdro' is pretty interesting. I learned about it here on /g/.
you won't find it in the Play store, though.
if you like browsing /diy/, you might like the 'Instructables' app.
Really well designed.
