>Apple invents the modern smartphone
>then loses against Android phones
>Apple invents the modern tablet
>then loses against Android and Windows tablets
>Apple invents the modern thin laptop
>then loses to the Surface Book
Am I the only one seeing a trend?
I chose my words carefully, which is why I said they invented the MODERN version of those things. Obviously, tablets, smartphones, and thin laptops existed before. But the current types of tablets, smartphones, and laptops were invented by Apple.
Most modern smartphones are inspired by the iPhone.
Most modern tablets are inspired by the iPad.
Most modern thin laptops are inspired by the MacBook.
Don't try to mince words, people on /g/ are too autistic to not get hung up on vernacular, even though they know exactly what the fuck you're talking about. They'll just dance around the semantics in a futile attempt to feel smugly superior about something completely trivial. It's pretty sad when you realize they do this on an anonymous image board.
>Am I the only one seeing a trend?
The steal original ideas, do the marketing and then the original guys come back after a hell of a lot of marketing and beta testing has been done by Applel sheep.

Apple hasn't lost anything. They're the most successful tech company by far and are making boatloads of money (94% of smartphone profits) while everyone else fights for scraps selling cheap third-world Android/Windows products.
Can someone show me where Apple claims to have invented these things?
>Well Android's market share is bigger so it did win. 80% is a majority with a huge margin
You don't judge a business by its popularity. You judge it by how much money it brings in. You could have 99% marketshare but if your revenue is $1 annually, you're not actually doing much better than a lemonade stand.
At most you could argue the /potential/ for revenue streams, in the same way that SV startups are invested into today. But you'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to think that Snapchat has "won" anything as it stands. They just have a decent chance at "winning", if they can figure out a way to actually monetize their userbase significantly.
And obviously iphones are much fucking better at monetizing their userbase than android is
