Half into the decade of the Linux desktop; actually filling up more than 2GiB or RAM.

In what realistic scenario would you be worse off with, say, 8GB DDR4 2166MHz?
>>
>>52462824
8GB<32GB

seriously anon?
>>
>>52462824
Do you realize that 800Mhz "DDR" means it is 1600 Mhz?
>>
>>52462848
Im sorry, you didnt mention you edited videos + 35 tabs in botnet + memory intense stuff in parallel. If you only use ~4GB there is little performance gains with higher frequency in that scenario though.

>>52462860
No I dont, elaborate

DDR is an abbreviation of double data rate. Speccy reporting 800 mhz is actually 1600 mhz if you check in the bios.

2166 mhz ram is actually clocked at 1083mhz and than doubled.
>>
>>52462975
So OP's RAM would be labeled as 1600MHz if sold at store?

Yeah, I guess I'd need 32GB of RAM if I used Windows.

1600mhz ddr3 is probably faster than ddr4 at 2133

Enjoy your placebo, faggot.
>>
>>52467595
Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean it's placebo.

I have a dev box with 12 cores and 288gb ram that I hammer the hell out of.
