The settings that stop third party apps work, as far as i know turning them off does work, since i monitored my data plan once with and once without them and when they were off i had used up way less data.
Yes, but data-mining is way too valuable to completely let go of it, just because *user* does not want to participate in it.
Probably all those functions just limit the spread, but being the nut i am, i think that apple has installed some backdoors to secretly siphon the data and feed the databases.

Well, every device sent telemetrics, not your pictures or browsing history, if you're not a criminal and you dont click on every ad you see, apple gains nothing from it.
