I think this computer has spent more time seeding than not, and I built it in 2010. Didn't get fiber until last year, I'm proud that I maintained a 1.5 ratio on a 300kbps down/75 up connection.
I haven't actually been downloading that much the past year or so.
inb4 Azureus is for fags
and no, Vuze never happened. to me its still called Azureus.
Pretty good for a connection which maxes out at 90KB/s upload. And I rarely see it there.
I was seeding for like, three weeks then my ISP started getting butthurt that my bandwidth was constantly taken up by my Tor node and the torrents so they started throttling me until I turned down the bandwidth usage. The theme of the tracker probably didn't help.
Haven't used the torrent that much in the past month.
I'm looking to torrent some screen capture software.
All I have is fraps, no video capture card or anything like that. Also a webm converter that's good. But I have no idea what to look for here, and rather than make a new thread, anyone here have some suggestions?
If the "it's free software!" tards are scaring you away, it's actually one of the most widely-used for livestreaming.
also, not to be rude, but this should go in >>>/g/sqt/
i reinstall every 6 months, so it resets. march is my next reinstall
>Winniggers thinking torrent stats are technology
Worse than ricefags
if i did that id have 1000s of active torrents and only 4mbps up. plus i keep my shit on a WD green and don't fell like tempting fate with 24/7 head movement.
Doing my part plus some H+R cunt's part seems like a good middle ground
In my old server I had something like a 0.003 ratio with over 2TB downloaded but it's because in my country broadband doesn't get more than 1MB upload ever and mine is particularly horrible so my speedtest reads somewhere around 18.5Mb/s in download and 0.3 in upload.
If I don't limit my torrenting server to 4kb/s up then even with all possible QoS settings my internet becomes completely unusable.
>and don't fell like tempting fate with 24/7 head movement
I don't think you understand the head problem in WD greens. The problem is when they stop moving, and that they don't stay active all the time. Luckily you can hack this 'feature' to prolong disk life.
I recently switched to an ISP that doesn't have a data cap. After doing hit and runs for almost a decade now I've never really learned what's a good ratio for seeding? I want start making up for all it.
>tfw you immediately close out torrents after finishing the download
Feels pretty good.
I used to fuck around with private torrents and keeping a more than positive ratio but fuck that shit.
I still find what I want without private torrents and I don't have to deal with the rep/ratio bullshit.
I'd go back to multiple direct download links with multiple file parts while using something like Jdownloader before going back into private trackers if it came to that.
Fuck you I'm an adult
I can have 3 months of uptime if I want to, I pay for that electricity
nothing too crazy like all you neckbeard fucks.
I never upload. As soon as it's done downloading I cancel.
almost the same, cuz i have a shitty upload speed of 1mbps. Fuck adsl
