Openbox if you want to customize it yourself, then you can make it look like you want. Or gnome or KDE if you do.

Far more visually consistent than the "I wish my operating system was more attractive to edgy teenagers migrating from XP but apple is like SOOOO coool I don't think they'll mind if I steal some of their glossy icons out of an old version of OS X" garbage, probably the only thing you can really shit on it for is the difficulty of customization.

I find it looks a better with a less flamboyant color scheme though, although it's incredible how old *nix interfaces could manage such radically diverse color sets and still not look like a total affront to my eyes.
