What is the authoritative book on your field. Also bookshelf thread.
A book is not a meet all ends but a beginning.
Pretty much the definitive book on the topic
could be worse
this is what psych majors study
I use pic related more than the definitive guide.
here's what on my desk
compsci undergrad at a shitty enterprise focused university here
Inspired my programming career
Has everything I need most of the time, I need to go to other texts for special cases
artist no bully pls
im learning programming/computers to inform my big picture, many insights gleaned so far
Depends on the specialty in question but anatomy is probably the most universal discipline
Random stuff I picked up at Goodwill recently.
The shop books are pretty neat. from the 1940s, so the style stirs the designfag in me.
It's a bit outdated unfortunately, but it'll give you an overview.
Quantom mechanics. Atoms wild world.
Get on my level plebs.
They're's no single book that's authoritative in my field, but this is a strong contender.
It's good. It goes over each proof and algorithm in depth. You can read the bigger headers for a refresher/overview and then dive into the nitty gritty.
Even a sub human lunk like me can get it.
The practice problems are also challenging if you're into that sort of thing.
Should probably read something by someone that actually existed, was in combat his whole adult life, and won every fight he fought and doesn't just throw up their hands if the plan drawn up before the battle doesn't work out.
If of course we are talking about the douay rheims.
> TFW my whole field is pointless
It's good for understanding what your getting into and planning your steps for going into a job.
It can't cover everything and doesn't try to. It covers shit like, get your backups working, make sure you secure your network, get your audits rolling and check them, how to get started automating, getting a ticketing system, how to handle customers. Nothing in depth but it's a good starter, and probably the book I refer back to the most since I google most everything else.
kill yourself you fucking freak
>and all the other goddick sucking faggots.
When was YOUR bible revised the last time? Every bible is continuously revised to fit modern language, politically correct language (wife beater arguments have vanished every now and then), and other religious views that just don't fit modern societies and laws.
But i guess you already knew that in your certainly more than 15 year life span, anons.
You pathetic religious cunts.
I'm writing a paper on the history of modern cryptography, and I'm looking for related literature. I already have The Code Book by Simon Singh.
Do you guys have any recommendations? Preferably available on Library Genisys.
Not only have I read it, I have
a) understood it in its terms of historical context and target groups
b) additionally read about it (secondary literature)
That's what seperates me from you miserable mongoloid fucktards.
Also don't mind my language, it does nothing short of misrepresent my understanding of the things discussed here, it merely reflects your own beings reacting to nothing else but this very language.
AND YES "ITS" IS A WORD YOU FUCKING FUCK!
One of the most authoritative books in my field is:
Wastewater Engineering: Treatment and Reuse
by Metcalf & Eddy Inc. et al.
The Quran don't need revision. It is society that should adopt to it, not the other way around. Allahu Akbar!
Truth is truth, if you change truth to comply With falsehood then you get falsehood supported by falsehood. Truth is still the same, you can not change that.
