To be honest, ypu should never rely solely on your email provider. Their security should just be another layer on top of your locally-encrypted pgp text.

I'm creating a new email account just to sign in to websites like Facebook and Amazon. This account would be private and so people wanting to login would have to guess both the e-mail address AND password (extra security measure).
