Not sure what private trackers are all about?
The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.
Check out the wiki and update it yourself if you want more instead of complaining like a fucking faggot. https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Private_trackers

Remember the following:
>staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before.
>staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers
>people may report emails and other personal info posted here to staff to get you banned.
>most of the invite offers here are people trolling you with false hope - begging for invites is a waste of time and you should just interview
>The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.
that's the funniest thing i've read in these generals
and that isn't saying much
i was only on pedro's for a brief time but like 95% things i clicked weren't on wcd
you also have the guarantee of well tagged/seeded releases with cover scans and a certain level of quality for vinyl rips if that's your thing
these sites are supposed to be used in conjunction with others, not instead of them retard
1. FSC - EVERYTHING can be found easily
2. FTN - Just a scene tracker, can easily be replaced today, unique thing was that there wasn't many thing like it back in the day
3. Exigo - What.cd is just better with no (or at least not that much) autism involved
4. Pedro - What.cd is just better with no (or at least not that much) autism involved
HDB is just the best thing for HD, AoM is not retarded, it's just for magicians, DB9 is very specific.
I really like it. It's pretty neat.
The easiest way to gain upload on what is to do/fill requests via buying bandcamp albums.
Do not buy shit you don't like. Buy music you like and will listen to.
Oh and I had ~1,5GB of buffer, autodl with a not premium connection (100Mbps) burnt the rest of 7GB buffer. No autodl - no seedbox - no requests, just seeding whole FL and rippy picks
I have more invites. (Dec 17, 2015)
-- do not PM me if you've previously had an account --
1. you must have been on what.cd for at least 12 months
2. PM and state what kind of material you're looking for (short and snappy, pls)
3. include an email address
4. you have to use your account regularly. no idlers.
5. if you don't get a reply it means a) no or b) no time right now or c) invites have run out.
To join PTP I guess and I'll probably go to whatever is after Elite on AB and try to not do so many transcodes so I can help out the site grow desu and for yen gaining.
I'm not very hopeful to gain much buffer on TehC but maybe I'll use a seedbox for a month or two as recommended by /ptg/ because though I feel comfy on TehC, I literally just download seeder surge most of the time for obvious reasons.
For a netbook running Debian minimal with transmission-daemon with 100kB/s upload limit what should the maximum global and per torrent connection limit be? Right now it's 300 and 100. Worried I am choking it and a lower number might be better
"KaraGarga strives to be more than just a regular BitTorrent tracker for movies.
We are an exclusive private filesharing community focused on creating a comprehensive library of Arthouse, Cult, Classic, Experimental and rare movies from all over the world."
>We are an exclusive private filesharing community focused on creating a comprehensive library of Arthouse, Cult, Classic, Experimental and rare movies from all over the world."
Is there any point of using it instead of PTP?
Probably because some memelords kept talking about CP and it got nuked.
Are Emp invites available on the what.cd PU invite forums? Trying to decide if it's worth getting my PU status back or not. I had it before, but the torrents I uploaded got pruned after I was the only seeder after six fucking months and endured a surprise reformat, and I got demoted.
See, I've heard amazing things about Emp's selection. I hear they even have the weird fetish shit I enjoy that's usually impossible to find, and/or is niche enough that content owners themselves can police the public torrents.
Hi /ptg/ I was reading the wiki for fun and a question (probably a derp question) jumped on my mind.
There's something wrong with running public and private trackers? Also in same and/or different clients?
I mean, each .torrent have its trackers, but I feel like I was wrong thinking in that way.
Yes, kind of. Would you explain to me why, please?
>"Is it bad to add a public tracker to my client if there's a private tracker in my client?"
In separate .torrents, I assume. Like one from X website and other from Y being X private and Y public.
You mean OPPAITIME?!
Censoring bittorent communities is stupid as fuck, dude. They aren't exclusive in the slightest that way.
This is damaging to the private tracker community you are (possibly) in and the entire private tracker community in general. When you add a public tracker to a private torrent, other members who are not apart of the private tracker will download your file and you will not get your proper upload credit (this is bad if you REALLY want to improve your ratio!!!)
Yeah, I got that. . . But that was if (for example) I add PrivateTracker.com to an existing File.torrent with an already existing PublicTracker.com (improvised).
I meant if it is right in the case I got
File-1.torrent -> PrivateTracker.com
File-2.torrent -> PublicTracker.com
In the same or different clients.
Oh I thought you meant you can't seed/leech torrents from public and private trackers at the same time. It's not bad if you do that, just not adding a public announce url to a private torrent.
Don't worry, English is not my first language and I ended up typing things too long to understand to normal people. That's cool to know, maybe one day I will apply to some private web, from a cool seedbox.
I didn't used to be desu senpai. I used to download 720p scene releases. Now though... well there's something awesome about a lossless collection. Especially with a home media system set up.
It's a shared seedbox server, other people could butcher your HDD I/O or a shit ton of network issues. The overall speed is fine but dedis make friends faster than feral does.
Kimsufi has 100mbit capped speeds and single disk systems at the low end, gl racing with that.
Not really looking to race, just to have a large storage. I don't like having my IP being shown on torrent clients, maybe I'm a bit too paranoid.
Would a VPS show the same issues as a rented seedbox ?
What is this rippy thing?
I used to be TM years ago but I'm back to PU for losing my HDDs. I forgot how but I remember using a seedbox with a custom script on wcd that would literally do everything for me. It would take a flac album, transcode it to the big 3 then upload them, all automatically.
It's simple but the way they do it is weird. To get to the next user class you need am average seeding size of 50gb for six months. I'm currently just hammering everything on freeleech, then once I reach it I'll probably scale back and just keep it at about 100gb.
It depends how keen you are about movies. They have a handful of things that aren't allowed on PTP so it's at least worth considering. Just get in if you can and leave a few hundred gb seeding for a month and you'll get PU.
rule of thumb:
if you ever have a tracker that has invite threads/boards visible only to their PU/Elite equivalent but also has boards for even higher user ranks, you can guarantee there is some recruitment going on in those higher ranks from super sekrit clubs.
Is it worth it getting to elite/TM+ on WCD for DB9? Does it even have DB9 invites?
>inb4 we're not telling you pleb
What are these trackers in red?
Also fux0r went down. Why is it still in OP?
Hi friend, I noticed that your png was unoptimized so I've taken the liberty of optimizing it for you.
I am covered, I don't need ipt's FL.
Do not fall for faggots like this, high quality encoders can go as far as correcting frames in photoshop from (as usual) shitty sources.
>being this dumb
inb4 hahahah lol i baited u haha trolll i was pretending
where the fuck do you start invites? I've read all god damn installgentoo wiki, I've looked for interview shit.. that crappy iptorrents is only place I got invited to by some guy. I got seedbox with 2tb a month upload and idc to even fucking get shit I wanna upload to stick it to the man god dammit
everything is fucking closed
I'm mad as hell
my goal was to have a 1download:100upload ratio but it'll never happen now
What.cd <- best starting place
Animebyt.es <-second best starting place
Switch the two if you are a hardcore weeb.
You can go from What to AB and vice versa. Both have excellent invite forums.
I was linked to their site & found not shit
it routes me to what.cd idk why..
idc about anime, I watched yu yu hakusho it was pretty good
I'd seed anywhere though to get into the HD movie places, and then seed. prob take just new release and seed 24/7/365 after that
should I try to get into both just to seed?
maybe my internet is retarded it redirects me
>should I try to get into both just to seed?
No. Well sort of. The thing is once you get into one tracker it's MUCH EASIER to get into others.
So for what.cd you sit an interview and for AB you fill out an application. Just pick one. Because once you hit PU both have invite threads for each other and other trackers. To get an invite becomes as easy as waiting a while, uploading some then PMing a recruiter with your email address. So doing both an application and an interview is redundant. You pretty much pick one.
What.cd it's harder to find uploads but you need fewer uploads to get where you want to go. Animebytes it's much easier to find uploads but you need to find more which gets annoying (but really easy). If you have a seedbox you should find both of them as easy as hell but AB might be easier for you because it has Awesome HD and PTP recruitment in PU.
I literally want to seed shit to stick it to the man and help people out. idc about content.
thank you for the help, I'll look at the anime bytes sounds like.
Why not? I have
these.. And the what interview site redirects me to what.cd.. it's not my fault you guys can't understand webserver error codes.. (307)
Wrong. All the weebs will tell you that banding significantly affects all most all 2D animated content sources.
It's only a significant problem in about 20% of live action BD's though with miscropping and dirty lines on at least 50%
I know that you're in denial and trying to justify the time spent collecting remuxes but the sad truth is that a lot of the time they're worse than source and only useful for lossless/7.1 audio (which can be downloaded separately).
And this is without even touching on hybrid encodes combining multiple sources for a better overall end result.
Directors Cut BD:
I love watching you get ripped up every thread. Tell us honestly, how many terabytes of remuxes and full BD's do you have that you now realise are redundant and aren't objectively the best copy?
Does it tickle you autism every time you put a movie on and it looks good but you just know, in the back of your mind that it's not quite as good as it could be?
WCD has a super low ratio requirement and frequent FL opportunities. I've had no trouble getting the 24/96 flac I want when I want it just by letting my shitty connection seed at 20k/s 24/7, and I'm not getting in-demand stuff...
So unless there's some super secret content tier I don't know about...
For MAM PU?
>Automatic Promotion once you've been a member for 4 weeks uploaded over 25GB and have an overall ratio of 1.05.
Just get a load of bonus points and exchange it for upload credit for auto PU promotion.
>Retarded AHD shill has nothing to say as always
You know what my pal Dion often says: "Get the remux instead". It's a fact that source (BD, remux) is better than encodes. Do you know they prohibit transcode from encode? Because it's inferior to source.
They prohibit transcodes because you can copy the settings the encode was made using, apply it to the remuxes, tweak it a little and get an encode with whatever settings you want and end up with better version, than encoding from an encode.
>You should really join reputable trackers
We're talking about BHD here, right? It's a reputable okay tier tracker. Or you're saying that only the biggest ones or the ones that have strict overall quality standards for uploads could be called reputable? Well, in this case AHD isn't reputable as well, kek.
>Why would anyone shill AHD or any other tracker for that matter?
I'm wondering too, why it always happens when someone starts talking about HD trackers AHD cucks start viciously shitting on anything besides AHD. Maybe it's just ignorance? Why show it then? Better start lurking more.
Try harder, retard.
They tell you to join because it's the easiest hd tracker to join that is reputable. Reputable meaning they don't try your account passwords on other sites, not pay2leech, not full of currys, etc. Of course trackers like HDbits, and PTP are better, but they are harder to get into. Besides, whenever music is mentioned everybody says to go to what.cd because of all the reasons I mentioned above.
Once again, we're talking about other tracker right now. The initial question was "is BHD any good", no one asked you what are some better places. BHD is now open for a short period of time, so any closed PT is harder to get into, there's no point in saying "join this closed tracker instead".
Jumping in to say that technically remuxes have more data and will look better when blown up on a huge projector. But for anything up to a big TV, internals are transparent or improved.
Are you incapable of reading a thread or using ctrl+f?
Except in cases where there are problems with the source, which is what we're talking about.
In that case, those flaws will be even more pronounced.
>Except in cases where there are problems with the source, which is what we're talking about.
>In that case, those flaws will be even more pronounced.
Missed that senpai, what kind of problems would fuck up an encode.
