I always see you people complaining about new phones being too slim and not thinking about battery life, but let's be sincere: you would never buy a bulky phone, even if offered 5 days of battery life.
Some people would :^)
i totally would
bonus points for metal casing with a satisfying clink when tapped
bonus points for early 60's style smooth-metal-bullnose-corners shape
bonus points for a shell that protects the screen by extending 1/16 of an inch above
i want a phone with a battery as big as an entire iPhone
i understand wanting small phones, but fuck you for thinking youre smart enough to predict my tastes
>you would never buy a bulky phone, even if offered 5 days of battery life.
nigga I would suck 19 dicks no condor to completion for a fucking phone that last 5 days SOT
I still use a dumbphone and I get great battery life.
I know several people who carry those charging batteries around with them wherever they go.
Those things are the size of a phone and more.
Why would they not prefer just a chunkier phone?
I'd certainly prefer more battery life
I'm not actually asking for a massively thick phone, but just a couple of mm more thickness. That's it. We're at the point now where Apple is focusing so much on lelsothin that the 3.5mm fucking audio jack is now too large for them.
Seriously, fuck that. Add an extra 1.5mm, MAYBE 2mm to whatever the iPhone's current thickness is. There, you're done.
>even if offered 5 days of battery life.
Is a brick phone?
>you would never buy a bulky phone, even if it offered 5 days of battery life
But that's exactly what I did, Anon.
You have 10 seconds to justify having less than 10KmAH on your phone.
You are right and wrong at the same time.
Yes no one would buy a 20mm thick, non-rugged normal phone. But there is a point where thinness stops being comfortable, useful and is actually detrimental to phone usability and for what, 0.5mm off while camera lens protrudes?
How thinner than lets say iPhone 4 do we need to get? Thinness is a meme and bragging right after a certain point.
if there was a rugged, fat, smartphone that delivers OK hardware and costs about the same i would.
All the rugged laptops and phone i've seen cost too much while being paced with shitty hardware.
sure I would, shit I still carry a PDA sometimes
after a certain point the returns on portability diminish more and more, especially as manufacturers reverse the progresses in portability by equipping their devices with impractical 6' screens to please media tards who are too poor to buy a subnotebook
Just get a fucking Droid Turbo 2 and be done with it.
>drop it from 4 stories onto pavement, it just laughs at you while bouncing around like a fish out of water
Last time i fucking checked people were absolutely fine with the thickness of the iphone 4.
Now imagine a modern efficient 5.5" with that thickness and a lithium-sulfur battery. Fucking 2 weeks yeeeeee
>implying I wouldn't even if it didn't have 5 days of battery life
The Athena was a miss though; can't talk normally (only loudspeaker) and the keyboard wasn't comfy at all (the keys were really soft and flat, no tactile feel). Playing OpenTTD was godlike on that though.
>le thinness meme is why we don't have phones with physical keyboards anymore (*aside from Blackberry)
Beautiful phone. I wish we had more phones with a slide or keyboard. They could even slim it down by using 2 batteries. One in the phone and one under the keyboard, if thickness is an issue.
lenovo A5000 master race here. I charge it once or twice a week, it has automatic powersaver option where it stops everything but the phone/sms and has up to 80+ hours of life on it. Also turns off during night time. It suits me fine, I am not a social media piggo so its good
>kilo milli ampere hour
>1000 x 1/1000 ampere hour
Iirc they only made a few and then stopped because they dropped meego harmattan and picked up windows for their phones.
It's a collectors item now.
It's just an n9 with a keyboard. The n9 though was really powerful for its time, I think I read recently that they've ported kitkat to it.
I have one of these. It's truly amazing. Like 3-4 days SoT at max brightness and everything on (4gLTE, location, Bluetooth, etc...) But it does make it a brick. I threw it at my m8 and he no joke got a bruise the size of a brick on his shoulder. You could fucking murder someone with it.
Used to carry around a Nokia 5165 daily. Would do so again.
Take a zenfone 2, add a keyboard and a battery that makes it as thick as a DS lite and I'd buy the shit out of it.
Keep telling yourself that no-one actually wants it you fucking apple engineer.
There's a market, but you're too delusional to see it.
> droid turbo 2
enjoy your green line on the screen
actually I would, and so would other people that don't treat their phones as fashion faggot accessories
protip, spending 1000USD+ on a phone, while you're still wearing cumstained mall-tier skinny jeans and drive in a 1994 rusty corrolla daddy bought from Craigslist does not make you rich
microsoft kin two got a few weeks off a charge with occasional calls, rare texts and some light zune
You can use the power bank to charge your handheld consoles or your sandisk clip.
I have to say that I mostly use the power bank when I forget charging my phone or some other device. My phone gets 6-10 hours of sot, so it easily survives almost 2 days depending on usage.
As long as you can easily use a phone for more than one day, I see no reason to get a thicker phone.
>wanting more failure and dust points in his phone
My thing is, a phone comes out, and it's touted as being the best thing ever. Next year, a new version (version 2, let's say) comes out, and it's selling point is being even thinner. And people remark how nice and thin it is.
The NEXT year, version 3 comes out, and it's even thinner. Everyone exclaims how nice and thin it is.
My thing is, is the version 2 from last year suddenly unbearably fucking fat? Was everyone just pretending that version 2 was thin?
That's what I fucking hate. Instead of trying to make the model thinner when last year's model was perfectly thin, just keep it the same thickness, but with a bigger battery to balance out the updated innards.
I swear, I'm either just batshit autistic as fuck, or every phone manufacturer is catered to the worst audience. That issue I stressed in combination with the ridiculous screen resolutions. It boggles my fucking mind that that's acceptable.
