Saw this up in JB-Hifi the other day, and holy shit, this is the worst keyboard I've ever used.
How can you macfags possibly defend this?
>>
>>52305417
it looks real nice, check out those sleek lines and how portable it is

damn apple makes such beautiful products
>>
>>52305417
Not an applefag but how can you expect a comfy keyboard from something that has to be as thin and lightweight as possible?
>>
>>52305684
that's the thing, it DOESN'T have to be as lightweight as possible.
>>
>>52305702
But anon, we cant call it air if it isnt mostly made of air.
>>
I barely ever use macs, but when I do, I struggle with the CTRL button for a good 10 minutes.
Apparently, the CTRL button is not used for anything, and if you want to copy/paste/new tab etc. you have to press that weird 'apple' symbol.
>>
i actually liked the keyboard. After owning a black switch mechanical that one seemed super nice and comfy. now i got the chiclet thinkpad and its nice and all, but that keyboard was lovely to use. like touching the future.
>>
>>52305702
Well if your intent is to create a super thin and lightweight laptop, then yes, it has to be that way.

If you just want to create a laptop then you're right.
>>
>>52305417
Get fucked pleb.. What they fuck do you want? Mechanical keyboards on laptops
>>
>>52305741

You use the Command button. Which is also the weird cloverleaf button.

It does make things annoying since it screws up my muscle memory overtime I switch into Windows.
>>
>>52305810
typical mac retard
>>
>>52305741
Keep using it and it will become second nature. CTRL is used in a lot of places, e.g. emacs style keybindings in text fields.

>>52305779
who the fuck was asking for a laptop thinner than the macbook air?

"oh thank god it's thinner, now I can fit it in the exact same sized bag, but it's fragile and has a shitty keyboard too!"
>>
>>52305897
Most people wasn't probably asking for smartphones either but look what happened. I guess apple likes to create new markets that don't exist yet.
>>
>>52305931
That's a retarded b8
>>
>>52305417
Well, writing a post on facebook/twitter doesn't require good keyboard.

Besides, this is a tablet with attached keyboard, not an actual laptop
>>
Is it good, is it bad? I don't know. What i am certain of though is that 30 seconds in a store is not long enough to get used to a new keyboard mechanism
>>
>>52306057
Thinking people know what they want is retarded.
>>
>>52305417
>having this much babby duck syndrome
I can type 150 wpm on those keyboards.
>>
>>52305417
I'd buy one if I could. Just look at it. It's fucking light. It does more things than a tablet and due to its' small motherboard, it fits a lot more battery.

Apple is fucking genius, y'all niggas just can't see it yet.
>>
>>52305702
For you it doesn't. But who are you anyway? As if they care about the few people that think a little further. If they say it's thinner than something else people will buy it, without even knowing if the specs are better. That's how it works, anon. I know that human stupidity can be frustrating sometimes, but it can also mean more money.
>>
>>52306236
>typical apple and now microsoft user
>>
>>52305702
road cars don't need 300kw either
>>
Yeah but you don't notice how bad the chiclet keyboard is because of the shitty buttonless trackpad.
>>

Macfags could give a shit about quality. Its not about having a good computer. Itsa f fashion accessory. Also, poorfags and children think its a status symbol for some reason.
>>
>>52305752
> was lovely to use. like touching the future.

You fruitcake.
>>
>>52306423
people buy mac clones because it's a fashion accessory. people buy macs because they want a good computer
>>
>>52305741
>>52305822
>>52305843
Command is used for executing commands in applications like copy, paste, etc.

Control is used for controlling the window manager by switching workspaces or processes, or controlling processes in the terminal by sending signals.

Historically things like ctrl+C were already used for sending SIGTERM or using other functionality in terminal emulators, so its kind of natural that you wouldn't use them in a different way now. As a result you can still painlessly copy-paste in terminal emulators on OSX, without all those horrible issues you have on windows when attempting to do that.
>>
>>52306450
You are over doing it posting b8 on every thread, m8
>>
>>52306450

Huh? Who doesn't want a good computer?
>>
>>52306496
everyone wants a good computer. Mac users are the only ones that get one though. Anyone buying from their wallet is buying trash. Surface pro is great though, but Windows has no apps

uh, because it's the best laptop keyboard, actually.

is that actually a fresh pic? You can get that looking brand new with magic eraser blocks
>>
>>52306630
What? I just take the picture, but I don't understand what you say.
>>
>>52306669
get these things:
http://chux.com.au/faqs/magic-eraser-range/index.html

wet one a little and rub over keyboard. Congratulations, you have a brand new keyboard
>>
>>52306692
What for? It won't work better. That keyboard is resistant. It doesn't need maintenance.
>>
I have a MacBook Pro and it did take me a while to get used to the keyboard but now I'm pretty quick.

It's a laptop keyboard after all - I'm slower on it than I am on my desktop PC but probably no slower than on my previous Asus laptop.
>>
>>52306131
m8, you weren't there, have you ever used one?
When i saw the keyboard, i thought "well this sure looks flat, it surely can't be as bad to type on that it looks, right?" so i tried it out and it was worse then i expected, it was fucking terrible, literally worst 0/10 keyboard i had ever typed on.
>>
>>52306397
Well obviously, since there was nothing else to even read after that sentence.
>>
>>52305890
What is this may may
>>
>>52306913
yeah i've used one. it's different.

kek

Have you ever used a real keyboard?
>>
>>52307011
Yes and that one is the best. 1.5mm for each key, so when I press a key it's instantaneous. Not like your shitty mechanical key with 10mm.
>>
>>52305897

Shitloads of people are buying them, bro.
People just want a smaller, lighter computer, with all day battery life.

Check out the PC laptops at CES this year, all their thin and light portables are basically ripping off the design, because people want them.

>1.5mm for each key, so when I press a key it's instantaneous. Not like your shitty mechanical key with 10mm.

This.

Typing for long periods is so much easier with less key travel, and the Macbook has keys that are a great size, give great feedback, and is generally pleasant to use.

I wouldn't use it for gaming or anything anywhere close to that, but I wouldn't use a Core-M 1.3Ghz machine to do any kind of gaming.
>>
>>52305897
you can charge it with a usb port. so the power brick can be way smaller, and you can also charge it of standard battery packs.

I won't go a step backwards on CPU performance on my current laptop, but the battery life is similar, the screen is great, why not make it thin as fuck and eliminate the power brick? I'll definitely be buying something like it when my MBA gets slow

I went with a mate to suss out some laptops that would be suitable for uni for him. The keyboard is fucking horrific. It is honestly worse than using a touchscreen on a tablet, at least those things have built in vibration feedback. This shit fucking doesn't. They didn't even need to make it this fucking thin. Fuck man.
>>
>>52305741
You can remap your keyboard and basically use ctrl as Command. pqrs.org/osx/karabiner/
>>
>>52305417
the normal macbook keyboard is good though, I just wish it didn't get stains.

no seriously HOW can anyone "like" this kind of keyboard.
I suppose any kind of on-screen keyboard is better ... BECAUSE YOU DON'T EXPECT FEEDBACK FROM AN OSK (except vibration)

new macbook --> facebook-machine !
>>
The keyboard is really shitty to type on but you've got to admit that the machine looks gorgeous.
>>
>>52310976
yeah maybe, but not so much since all the gay ass hipsters are using one at my uni and I always feel like vomiting when I see one
