I use QuodLibet with ffmpeg/ffplay.

Nothing against foobar2000, but I didn't need the plugin support. Winyl uses a little less resources and looks nicer to boot.

Ncmpcpp is by far the most aestheticly pleasing. Album art isnt themed like something like an icon pack would be. Most album arts wont fit in at all with your overall theme.

Nice. I don't have the very first single, but I do own Mardelas I and Thousand Cranes. Mardelas I was pretty good despite being all over the place with funk elements and stuff. Dunno how you feel about the shitty drum sound on Thousand Cranes, but I pretty much got over it, and I think I like it better than the full length. Hibiki is higher in the mix and does more neato bass things. Marina also does this comical, freaky wail at the beginning of "Sword of the Avenger II." I could upload it for you if you want.

I like Mardelas I as an album, i'm in love with Eclipse and DDC though, Marina's voice is 10/10 and then in the chorus it goes to 20/10.
However the original Daybreak and Phantasia are a lot better than the album versions imo.

>I could upload it for you if you want.
Please, That would be awesome.
If it isn't too much to ask, do you happen to have it in flac? I transcode most of my music to opus because >shitty phone with no SD slot.
>>
Yeah I run Quod Libet too. Honestly I liked things about Guayadeque and Clementine but they both had issues I just couldn't get past ultimately.

Spotify has a nice client for Linux too.
>>
>>52279547
Marina's voice is definitely pretty out there. Dunno how familiar you are with the scene, but there's a surprising amount of Japanese female wailers in power metal (Junko from Alhambra and Marge Litch leaps to mind), and she's one of the best imo. And of course they have motherfucking Hibiki on bass which is a big plus. I wish he would write a song again though. He hasn't written anything since Light Bringer went on hiatus for some reason.

Oh I always rip my shit in FLAC. Hell, I even bought the limited edition, so I have the instrumental versions of everything. Here you go.

>>
>>52279701
Holy shit thanks a lot based anon, it's even better because i bought the regular one.

I'm pretty new to these bands, ended up listening to Mardelas because i listen to Destrose and Aldious, however i'm open to similar bands because this genre is pretty good.

Is it possible to get Mardelas I in flac too please? Having it in .opus would reduce 6mb/song at least until my copy arrives.

Yeah, J power metal is pretty much my bread and butter these days. The modern power metal scene over there is pretty fantastic imo and blows other countries out of the water. Better songwriting, musicianship, creativity, and pretty everything.

I'll just spam a bunch of names at you. Some other female fronted PM bands I like off the top of my head would be Cross Vein, Light Bringer, Alhambra, Raglaia, Mary's Blood, Octaviagrace, Roman so Words, Tears of Tragedy, Liv Moon, and Albion. And as for just Japanese metal in general, I like the usual big names like Galneryus, Dir en grey, Versailles, Jupiter, etc. But some other good lesser known bands would be: D, Mysterious Priestess, Gonin-ish, MergingMoon, Doom, Ningen-isu, Gargoyle, Gauntlet, and VRAIN.

And yeah here's Mardelas I.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/7rwvhracjamnyrl/Mardelas+I.7z

Where do you order from by the way? When I make big orders I usually do HMV Japan because they have coupon campaigns and discounts for multiple CD purchases. The downside is that they force you into EMS which can be expensive (but it's face), so it's only worth it if you do a fairly large order.
>>
>>52280200
>but it's face
fast*
>>
>>52280200
Thanks again mate, that's a lot of groups.

And yeah i also listen to Mary's Blood.
Raglaia didn't do it for me, for some reason the vocals didn't feel right despite being used to Rami singing in Aldious earlier.

I'm ordering from CDJapan only because their shipping with Registered SAL and Insurance is cheap. I don't mind to wait that much anyway.
>>
>>52274555
>captura de pantalla
>for you
amo ese album!! se hizo muy popular este ultimo año, pero no sé como. tu como lo descurbriste?
>>
>>52280663
Raglaia is surprisingly pretty downtuned and dark overall, but I liked the full album even though it does feel like mostly just a collection of songs. Rami's vocals over it is definitely more atypical than in the usual heavy/power context for sure.

And yeah CDJapan is pretty nice for super cheap SAL shipping. Amazon Japan is worth checking for anything out of print (sometimes it's cheap and the sellers offer international shipping). If you ever get into independent stuff, SA Music is a good website; they carry a lot of doujin stuff and obscure bands.

>I'm looking for Defended Desire and Nostphilia
I sure hope you're ready to pay a pretty penny for those.

Yahoo Auctions is pretty much ebay for Japan and you can find a lot of good stuff there. The problem is that you have to have a shopping service to buy stuff there for you since they don't ship internationally, and then have the shopping service ship to you and of course pay the extra fees. But often you don't have much of a choice if you trying to get something really rare. I've used Noppin in the past and they are pretty nice and flexible.
>>
>>52281207
>pay a pretty penny for those
Heh i was expecting those prices but i still don't know if it's worth it, even more when i want to support the artists themselves instead of the resellers.

Also holy shit you were right, that scream in Sword of Avenger II was totally different from the Destrose's one, i wasn't expecting that at all.
>>
>>52281423
Yeah it more or less depends on how much you really want the physical copy. I've been burned pretty badly before by stuff having high demand and then later falling price like Light Bringer's venue exclusive single, Icarus (it's like 1500 yen now and I paid like 3000 for it ouch).

I'm actually not familiar with Destrose at all and of course their one album went out of print not too long ago. Mina is in Fate Gear now if you don't know. They sounded pretty alright to me (the vocalist is great), but I haven't heard their album yet. It's pretty doujin-ish in feel.
