They don't, i can hardly find any on my online equivalents and i need one now because i built a new pc for my office and i need a keyboard so i decided to go with the QuickFire TK since my other options
are black widows and shit, my question is, what will feel more like i am pushing a solid object and not something soft like a membrane, a brown or a red?
Neither of those switches will feel like a membrane keyboard (though it's not a membrane but a rubber dome that you are pushing).
Get a switch tester. You will thank yourself once you drop 70 bucks on a keyboard.
I cant, it will take a full month to arrive and i need a keyboard in a few days, i just like to press on solid things, i don't care about clicks and weight, i just want to not feel like there is jello under every key, so is red or brown more solid feeling?
They both feel perfectly solid and neither feels like a rubber dome keyboard.
I'm not a huge fan of browns or reds, but I certainly prefer browns over reds. Others will be of a different opinion and disagree with me.
The leopold if you cannot live without dedicated arrow keys, otherwise the HHKB.
Alternatively, you could form your own opinion on what suits your needs. Which one do you want? Get the one that you want.
The tactile bump is not very pronounced on browns, thus some people call them "mushy". This is not the same kind of mushiness that you'd expect from rubber domes. It's a piece of solid plastic that you are pressing down with your finger, it's just that the resistance of the spring varies depending on the switch.
I agree with this guy (>>52232688) on how reds feel.
Alright, i'll try browns for now, it's not like i am getting a 200 euros keyboard, i would like to try clears someday but i can't wait for an international order now so maybe next time.
>Have decent but cheap Rosewill mechanical keyboard that feels great and isn't riced out
>Get a G910 for christmas
>Well the box says it's mechanical, maybe it'll be even better than the Rosewill
>No resistance, no click, barely any travel, feels like rubber domes
>On top of the whole thing being made out of that weird soft almost vinyl plastic
>people look @ this shit & give 2 fucks
s m h pic related only option
People like you end up spending 400$ on 3-4 keyboards and caps because you are too scared /cheap to spend 200$ from the start and get the best board for you.
Poorfags gonna poor I guess
I built a new pc for my office and i need a new keyboard in a few days, my only options for a tenkeyless here is either the quickFire TK or BlackWidow,
I can't wait one month for a keyboard right now.
After getting around 30 anime figs including after market rarities for over $200 it's pretty hilarious to read your attempts to call someone poor because the only somewhat expensive keyboards out there are Gon's.
Everything else i(including topre and hhkb shit) s fairly cheap.
>i'm an idiot who bought 30 lardass pochaco dolls because my mom didn't love me when i was a kid
> but YOU are an idiot and poor lol
I'm deciding between the Poker 3 and the Leopold FC660.
The FC660 seems like the perfect compromise since its a 60% yet has the full size arrow keys.
>pic related bottom is the fc660
>that confirmed jealousy of a poorfag who cannot afford figs of his favorite girls
Wow friendo I'm so sorry about your poverty.
Solid board, I've been using it almost daily for over 4 years, typing on it right now even. It's dirty as hell and missing the f16 key, and I haven't bothered to map any of the function keys, but it's stood the test of time (and test of grime) without any hiccups.
I still prefer my GH60 over it, but when it comes to this Apple keyboard, I really can't complain.
What art books do you buy?
Do you have any recommendations?
I'm quite curious about those since I like the aesthetics and artwork, but I have no idea where to even start when looking for that stuff.
Other than that, you can always learn Japanese and import manga from Japan. That's what I did.
Colors wouldn't really matter to me as I'd just like a simple flat black.
Now I'm down to a KBParadise V60 and a FC660. (Local store doesn't have the Pok3r with blue's)
V60 looks really nice with a Dolch Keycap set but its ABS and the FC660 has PBT's with the arrow keys.
I used a Poker 2 a little over a year and loved the experienced, can't recall using arrow keys that much but having them there would have been much easier, I don't see them being faster as some people claim.
Pretty much everything I like (artists, vidya, pixiv, etc).
Just get something you want on CDjapan or search for the after market on Mandarake.
This is what I got for Christmas. I know you guys hate wireless, but this has zero latency for muh gaymes and the battery lasts about a week before recharge.
This is 4chan, kiddo.
You newfriends have no idea about its roots but I'm fine with giving you some tips about 4chan culture.
Dude I'm from /a/ since before haruhi threads.
I just don't come to /g/ to flaunt my autism and spam about plastic waifus.
Each board should have its culture.
I'm not one of those who oppose anime reaction pics outside of a, but it's ridicolous to ridicule anons for spending over a keyboard which is a tool you use everyday versus some useless piece of plastic that just stay there catching dust or receiving your hotglue.
Not to mention figures have horrible plastic creases and seams in the hair, worthy of a 5$ job not 200.
i like the sounds and feeling of using a mechanical keyboard but i'm worried it will be too loud and wake my parents
is there a way to plug headphones into my keyboard so i can listen to the clacking without disturbing others
What keyboard tray is good? I have a terrible plastic one that wiggles and shakes and amplifies my typing 1000x and I one swiveled my chair and nailed my thigh with the corner of it and the haematoma took over a month to go away and I require a better model.
Is there something similar to the noppoo choc mini but backlit? The mini-2m isn't available in Germany and I can't find a backlit tenkeyless/ 75% Keyboard with blue switches fitting my budget ( <120€)
>why u spend a lot for this keyboards
because I'm rich.
>2004 + 14 - 2
>not buying a loli meme board
dude don't steal from other threads.
You could have just asked.
I fear googling for this. I am a muslim in Europe, police would arrest me tomorrow and keep my computer for years if I googled for that keyboard. Why would they call their company THAT?
Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta. She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita. Did she have a precursor? She did, indeed she did. In point of fact, there might have been no Lolita at all had I not loved, one summer, an initial girl-child. In a princedom by the sea. Oh when? About as many years before Lolita was born as my age was that summer. You can always count on a murderer for a fancy prose style. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, exhibit number one is what the seraphs, the misinformed, simple, noble-winged seraphs, envied. Look at this tangle of thorns.
Spilled Cola in my Func Blue switch awhile back. Unplugged imediately and let it sit for a while. All keys still works, but some were very sticky.
So today i tried to stick my keyboard in hot water. just a splitsec where it was sticky. I let it dry, now 5 keys wont work. but the rest still works. Does anyone know why the keys i took off are those that doesnt work
i dont wanna spend 70 euro on a new
update. the 3 key that didnt work got stuck for some reason and spammed it like this "33333333333333333333333" for a sec
the stuff in the soda that got left behind when it dried is whats likely interfering, which is why I suggested distilled water as that has most/all the normal dissolved solids found in tap/bottle water filtered out.
>be writing with meme arrows
>want to solder one new switch to my razer blackwidow meme keyboard because one switch failed
>blue switches are almost impossible to get under like 50€ and 4 week shipping
>in america you can just buy 1 switch for $1.5 and 3 day shipping
>I literally live within driving distance of the motherfucking Cherry factory
Sasuga swiss postal service.
>tfw can see image of package and am now certain that customs will not rape me since the vendor declared the value to be 18 bucks
>can see image of package
oh boy is there something that resembles an invoice?
btw my tracking is making progress,
apparently it moved from custom office to regular post office
I still don't know if that means I trolled them or if I'm gonna get raped
There's this here, looking at the rest of the stuff I'm sure it's part of the confirmation of sale thingy or whatever it's called from the vendor. Not anything that's related to the customs.
Though they make us pay customs upon delivery at the door anyway. Though I doubt that it'll be anything, it says 2100 yen right on the package.
I think we're good mate.
>I think we're good mate.
thanks, that's a relief.
looks like an invoice enough for me.
OP here, that's from a group buy, it's stuff for like 20 people.
>people spend hundreds of dollars trying to imitate the look and feel of a 90s office keyboard
just buy the real thing you bakas
Yeah, upon further inspection it turns out to very obviously be an invoice from the company itself, INXTECH they're called.
Damn I'm looking forward to waking up tomorrow morning.
>INXTECH they're called.
yup that's how it's billed on my paypal payment.
>mfw 18$ bucks declared
>mfw the jews fear the samurai
I feel you anon
>tfw of jewish origin
>tfw samurai cooperates with me
>live2d claims to be the solution to horrible CG in anime
>biggest use so far is Smug Simulator 1.0beta
live2d doesn't do horrible clipping and shading.
It's legitimately fine to get *distilled* water on electronics, but I'd use a sponge or something, and be absolutely certain that: A) you don't break off any components (brush or scrub it lightly), and B) let it dry for much longer than you think it needs to. Be absolutely certain that there isn't any moisture on the board before you turn it back on.
Which group buy was this from? I've been trying to find a GB with coiled+sleeved USB mini, they're almost impossible to find for a reasonable price. Even without the coil, finding a sleeved USB mini is absurdly priced for what it is.
wait until more refurbished come out and save yourself $20
I got a refurbished k70 for $80 w/ shipping and i can't even tell that it is refurbished
the only thing that was weird to me was that the red textured keys that I got weren't wasd but qead or something weird like that (why they would print a z on a forward slanted key i don't know)
it doesnt matter though because i wouldn't use the red anyway.
it was literally one of the best purchases i have ever made, a good looking metal body mechanical keyboard that was only $80, when others are paying $130 for a new one
Which ducky? how much does it cost? compared to corsair?
If you buy corsair you have to live with the thin and shitty keycaps, especially since they're nonstandard bottom row. other than that, if you can get them for cheap they're gonna be alright boards. prepare for dead LEDs with some bad luck.
Shine 4 is like 180€ and shine 5 is 200+€. Shit sucks. I think im going to get a k70 now since i can get one pretty cheap as i saif earlier and im desperate for a mx blue board since i've been stuck on one of them microshit rubberdome "ergonomic" monstrosities for 6 months.
Keyboard is a SteelSeries 7G by the way and I don't think I'll get much resale value for it...
Take all the caps off and then soak it in water with a little bit of detergent.Let it soak over night.Take it out and carefully damp it(dont scrape, blot it) let it air dry till dry
Seems like a normal price for Ducky to me ~
The K70 is decent, I've used one for a few months, passed it on to my brother now. All LEDs still working, but as I said the keycaps are pretty damn thin and that also makes the typing feel kind of unsatisfying to me.
Why are keyboard space bars so big? Are there any keyboards that let me have a big mouse-style trackball on one thumb and mouse buttons on the other thumb, just for research convenience and eliminating the time spent constantly switching hands between mouse and keyboard?
>Linears are just the reverberation of the switch, switching
this right here is all i require in a keyboard
why the fuck are there hardly any with dedicated media buttons? the only one's i've found also have a numpad
i'm not an accountant i dont need a fucking numpad
but i do listen to music so give me my fucking buttons
I've got one of those Leopolds - They're great however there's one thing you need to keep in mind, the cherry MX switches are standard but they use a custom keycap size - so you can't replace the caps unless they're specifically made for a leopold board.
i dont give a shit
why would i want to press 2 keys instead of 1? hmmm
dont question my methods son
fuck you, have you seen how many keys a numpad has? if you havent, go count them, i'll give you a hint its more than fucking 4 and a volume knob
I've never seen ANY board with them on the side.Thats retarded too.
If you want retarded shit on your keyboard, you're going to have to settle for whats on the market.
Or not be a pussy faggot and rebind them and be done with your bitching.
you have 17 options.
Hell make one play your favorite lip bizkit or slipknot song for all anyone cares
how is having them on the side retarded you immense faggot
they're out of the way when i'm typing, accessible when i need them
comparing a volume wheel/knob to some rebound fucking slut keys is the stupidest shit i've ever heard
say i've bound 7 keys on the numpad (play/pause, stop, next, previous, volume up, down, mute)
what the fuck are those other keys going to be good for
you think i'm going to reach all the way across the keyboard to type an 8 or 9? fuck you, those keys will be completely wasted
Cause its not a musical keyboard and you dont need them on the side to tap?
>what the fuck are those other keys going to be good for
You already said you have no use for a numpad.
Either take what is offered.
Or fuck off
Media keys=gamer rubberdome
Dude, make your own keyboard and quit bitching then. Most of us have media controls on a separate controller for our amps, having an extra one on the keyboard doesn't make sense. If you're too lazy to make one, buy a Das 4 Pro with the volume knob, it hangs off the side and works the way you're describing.
Probably gaymen keyboards. They're comfy.
>The space key is loosely leaning towards you
What kind of cave dwelling swine can put up with this bullshit?
ordered one of those as well
should be getting mine next week
>tfw need 2 keycaps for model m
>tfw need to make a minimum purchase on all sites I can find, or pay $10 shipping
posting my first mechanical keyboard with blue switches. It is probably a terrible shot of the keyboard and it doesnt have LEDs but I love the experience so far. Also dem blue switches just feel orgasmic
Used mine for 3 days now.
Browns/ white backlight
>pbt caps are nice (first for me
>build is very nice, heavy, nice feet grips, metal plate
>makes a high pitch wine when the backlight is at 80% and higher
Isn't even registered in Canada Post yet..
If my keyboard doesn't arrive in the next month and I get a full refund I'm probably just going to get a V80 with Matias Quiet Click switches.
Friendly nighttime sleepy reminder
Any mechanical keyboard that is anything but fullsize or TKL is a meme. Also using anything that has a rubberdome on it,is not a mechanical keyboard.
Please take head to the warning of these meme's.And the evil do'ers who will try to derail your decision
>tfw my first mech was with red switches
>tfw my WPM dropped by an absurd amount because of the shitty red switches
Anyone buy and have any opinions on Logitechs Mech Keyboards? I'm mostly interested in either the G710+ or the G910 but I'm open to suggestions on something a similar price with backlighting with MX Cherry Browns or switches that are similar to those (Tactile/clicky but not overly obnoxious like blues)
Depends. Does a very light switch with no tactile feedback whatsoever until you bottom it out sound appealing to you ?
If you answer yes to this question, go for it.
I just got the Vortex backlit PBT/POM doubleshot set, and I'm pretty happy with it. The only problem is that the stepped caps lock it comes with doesn't have the stem in the center of the cap, so it doesn't fit. The normal caps lock works just fine though
i fucking hate cool guys like you that have to let everyone know what you were drinking
no one gives a shit, just admit that you came all over your keyboard we can all get on with our lives
DOO DATS CWAZY MYAN
Is that the one off amazon whats your rating?
Anyone ever assembled their own keyboard? What was your experience like?
ok i just pulled the trigger on cm quickfire rapid-i with red switches, got it for 86$ and am ready for RMA cycle untill i get a new batch one with fixed leds.
>anything but fullsize or tkl is a meme
Compact SQ Layout, best layout.
I also figure something wireless in the HHKB layout would be great for a media center. But for a real computer? lol no
There was some guy on reddit who made all these really fantastic custom boards which had the tenkey on the left side and a 60% layout for the rest. He also did ergo boards.
He would sell them on his website for hundreds of dollars or more.
Wish I could find his site again, some neat custom keyboards on there.
These looked so comfy tho.
I'd know the website if I saw it again. It seemed to all be the custom work of one man. All one of a kinds.
Even though this keyboard isn't mechanical, I know that a few of you /mkg/ posters have this keyboard.
Do you guys know how to get under the right click? Mine isn't tactile and I was wondering how to get underneath the right click button so that I can replace the dome underneath.
Thanks and God Bless.
Same thing happened to me so I just decided to get a new keycap set in brilliant white for when I eventually transition to leet haxxor mode.
Viel Spaß damit.
shut up razerfag i would prefer a 2001 Ps2 keyboard full of mold and cumstains over it
Also bought me a K70 RGB brown. The profile switching looks amazing but it doesnt work all the time.
I built this GH60 recently.
Ended up not really using it because Gateron Blues are way too loud for my liking.
Should've went with some non clicky switch.
Potato pic =)
