Video editing and programming on these will be like sweet, hot butter for your machine to process. Yes, these machines will last you a good while, but the video cards are always changing. But they will stay good for at least 1.5+ years if you don't kill them.

You only really need 980x2 if you're gaming at 4k. Dont bother with the $1000 cpu, the 5920k or 4770k will work.

If you build a top of the line pc now you'll be future proofed for a while, unless theres a crazy leap in technology and 4k gaming is the norm.

Companies are always switching to newer product lines.
Most often you'll find that waiting just means your components have sold out everywhere.
I guess in 5 years they'll be heavily discounted. But waiting a year will do nothing really.

Yes actually I've gotten it up to 2560x1920 @ 113hz. The problem is that the monitor needs to be focused and I haven't gotten around to opening and adjusting the monitor, so I can run it at a high resolution but its quite blurred.

They've been great. I'd tried a 144hz panel prior to getting those and I have to say... Image quality to me is just more important.

Besides now I have the TV which I can run at 1080/120hz for racing sims etc if I really wanted to.

I got lucky and have no noticable edge bleeding on them either so props to LG for good quality control there.

I'm planning an upgrade at some point, but there's so much shit to choose from.
I really like the look of ELAC's BS 263, but they're pretty expensive.

At least it shouldn't be more than a couple of months until I move out of this place.
