The moment a 40"-50" 3840x2160 (or taller) display with DP 1.3, 120 Hz, and VESA Adaptive-sync exists for less than $1500, I will get one.

Which I will hold on to until 200 dpi 8k screens become a thing.
My current 1600p monitor is almost 8 years old, and I'm feeling the need for more space.

Personally I think 27" with 2560x1440 is the sweet spot today. Need dual Titan SLI to get decent gaming performance on 4k...

A monitor would be good enough.

I'm waiting for OLED monitors, and preferably something with 120hz refresh rate.

Price doesn't worry me too much.

If you care about color matching and print output, get a pro monitor. Eizo or Asus ProArt or HP DreamColor. Budget in a color calibrator unit too.

If not, personally I think the best price/performance deal today is the korean 27" with 2560x1440 at ~$260. You might need to buy a separate AC adapter for another $20 or $30.

One of my friends tried the elcheapo Korean display thing about a year ago, There is zero quality control. Across three different brands he universally got dead pixels, horrible light bleed, and shoddy case design. Wouldn't go for that ever.

But anyway, perfect color accuracy is not required.
